    William Trubridge often uses the swimming nose clip for very deep dives. I also like it in the pool because it doesn't press so much on the nose and it has very little drag.

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  6 років тому +1

      Agree, William also came to my mind. But don't remember anyone else...
      Two questions for you
      1. Are you using it do your PB as well? I am more or less ok, when do 40-60% of my MAX, but with longer dives feel uncomfortable....
      2. Do you really think that it changes streamling THA much? ;-)

    • @MartinBjorkvall
      @MartinBjorkvall 6 років тому

      1. No, I mainly use it for pool training where there's little need to equalize. Compared to many noseclips it is more comfortable, so I don't need to take it off during the training. Many noseclips must be worn quite tight on the nose in order to be airtight.
      2. Off course it slightly helps with streamlining. But the difference is so small so I don't think it helps in a PB attempt. But with higher speed e.g. in DYN, it can be more comfortable with less drag.

      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  6 років тому

      1. I take off nose clips anyway between laps (whether it swimming or freediving nose clip). If the rest just few seconds then don't, but such training doesn't last too long anyway....
      2. Still doubted that streamlining in this case would be different ;-)

    I have been using the smaller nose clip for 50m dynamic apnea, so far so good.

    can you give a demonstration of someone diving with a freediving nose clip I'm kinda nervous using one for diving I grew up not being used to swimming without plugging my nose I've been drowning several times and I want to learn to dive I can't find a nose clip strong enough for diving if the one you showed us work could you tell us where you bought it or where I can find a good one

      In my opinion, the best nose clips are from Freexperince company. Octopus nose clips are also good

    I’m here trying to decide the opposite- can I use a free diving nose clip for swimming? The swimmer ones just don’t stay on well enough and they hurt the bridge of my nose. I like the under nose + clamp idea though and think it might be better for me.

    if you use the nose clip on the mask, how would you equalize your mask because you need to exhale into the mask correct?

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  6 років тому +2

      You don't use nose clip on the mask ;-) You can use only nose clip, or combine it with the special fluid goggles (which you don't need to equalize)

    • @daivengence
      @daivengence 6 років тому +1

      i see..but then I found this clip explaining about the strong pressure on the clip to equalize mask ua-cam.com/video/M8ZwSue4AmI/v-deo.html so dont really sure if it can be done. Again thanks for answering

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  6 років тому +1

      This is an exception! haha
      So this nose clip actually can work with this particular mask. As far as I know, if you blow a little bit air you equalize your ears, and if you press more - air going to the mask as well. I have never seen this nose clip+mask, so, couldn't give you my opinion is it good or not :-)

    • @TTang312
      @TTang312 5 років тому +1

      @daivengence this is 7 months late, but firstly, the mask in the video you linked is a dedicated low volume mask. It uses very little air to equalise. Secondly, the noseclip shown is dedicated specifically for freediving with a mask. It has a springlike movement in the actual pads themselves, so you can still equalise the mask with enough pressure. And To answer your original question, you would not generally use a noseclip with a mask.

      Hey! You are welcome ;-) I am using nose clip from Freexperience and pretty happy with the quality. However, some of my students prefer nose clip from Octopus. Nose clip from Molchanovs is my second favorite (second because more expensive)

    I want to learn freediving but I was told that I needed to practice holding my breath and swimming back and forth in a pool first. Any advice?

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING
      @KAIZENFREEDIVING  6 років тому +1

      Actually, someone already gave good advice ;-) I would say swimming (ua-cam.com/video/4W9N-UScDug/v-deo.html), stretching (ua-cam.com/video/sx6hiBK0zYk/v-deo.html) and relaxation breathing (ua-cam.com/video/gApPpAR_q40/v-deo.html) would be very useful!

    When openwater swimming i sometimes bring a swimming clip to free dive on certain nice spots. Using swimming goggles the clips keeps water from coming into my nose and sinuses. I don’t use it to equalize.

      With a regular swimming googles? If yes, you can easily damage your eyes....or you fill goggles with water?

      @@KAIZENFREEDIVING good point, never thought of that. Never had any problems though. my open water swimming goggles have a lot of silicon, so I guess that will get pushed down and takes the runt of it. And I also don't really stay down that long.
