i got a 7th gen ipad and it is completely and utterly unresponsive. i hold down power for 5 minutes and nothing happens. I try your method, hold power down for 5 minutes and nothing happens. Cant swipe, cant touch shit, and it is unable to turn off at all.
Literally the only thing i can do to make it show something different is when i try to plug it into my windows laptop, but then all that happens is it asks if i want to give permission to share photos, but it doesnt even work and i still cant touch anything.
edit: okay i fixed it, i had to hold the power button and the home button until it showed the apple symbol, so its all good now.
