I’ve only just discovered that Jóhann was originally intended to score Blade Runner 2049, and quickly searched on UA-cam and found this! Such a loss he didn’t do it!!! While I like a lot of Zimmer going by this taster it would of have added so much more to the movie and changed the whole tone of it. While Zimmers was good it was closer to Vangelis, and a bit predictable because of that. Something fresher would of been better. This sounded so much bolder, starker, more confronting. A potential missing masterpiece.
From what I had read somewhere, the director was not convinced by Johansson's score, because he felt that it was not close to the sound of Vangelis and it was precisely the sound he was looking for, to carry into the sequel, the sound universe of the movie Blade Runner Original, that's why he's called Hans Zimmer and in my opinion he did a good job, he's pretty close to the sound of Vangelis but hey, Vangelis is Vangelis, hard to beat him. I would have loved him to bring it but I think he didn't accept, because he was no longer at his best, enough to repeat the milestone of the first film.
@@javix2013 If you check out interviews with Zimmer, you will learn that it was actually his team that did the BR 2049 soundtrack while he was on tour ^ Zimmer also asked Vangelis to join but he declined.
Hans Zimmer’s score for the move is great, but Jóhann Jóhannsson’s score likely would have been a masterpiece. Similarly wish that Bowie could have gotten the chance to play Wallace as was originally intended.
@@sebastianmaharg it's different enough it'd feel reduntant and probably wrong to go with vangelis again, but yeah it 100% should've been bowie. just makes me wonder if there's anyone else who could've played wallace as good as he could
I like the Hans Zimmer score. But I confess that I fell in love with the score for Blade Runner 2049 in the first tease that was composed by Jóhann Jóhannsson. RIP Jóhann Jóhannsson
Bro! Thank you for editing this! This was amazing! Well done! Man. I wish we had this. Even if he made his full score before he died and someone can edit it. That would be amazing! I’d love to see his version!
I've been searching for the first song, it's listed as "The Floodgates of her Wrath" in the description but I can't find it on the album it's attributed to, or elsewhere for that matter. Is it still attainable?

It should have been Vangelis and Bowie.

Yea that teaser trailer...I still play that it from time to time. The music is so futuristic yet so organic.

Thanks! Indeed. Maybe someday I will edit the entire 2049 movie but with music by Johann...
Dammit, this fit so well !
