  • In this week's landscape photography vlog, I'm shooting giants of the forest. Mountain ash trees, a native to Tasmania and Victoria, soaring to heights of over 100 meters, they are the second tallest tree species in the world. Not only do they beckon above you with their towering branches, but they play an important part in our tall forests - protecting and nurturing nature both in the air and on land. Landscape photography in woodlands can be a rewarding and visually appealing endeavor. Woodlands offer a unique atmosphere with their dense vegetation, diverse flora, and often intriguing lighting conditions.
Photographing these trees can be a fascinating and rewarding subject in itself, offering various opportunities for creative expression. Thanks for joining me on this woodland photography adventure. Grab your camera, embrace the beauty of nature, and let's explore together.

Koala bears, cockatoos, frogs, wombats, and giant trees in the fog...mate, This is definitely your best video since moving! Amazing conditions once again and those mountain ash trees are massive and beautiful! Also, I think your best collection of images from a video, every single one of them absolutely outstanding! I have to admit you gave me the willies a little bit with the leeches, friggin' nasty 😳 Other than those vile little creatures, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Hope all is well mate, we need to schedule a video chat before Christmas arrives!

Mate got home and had four leech bites on my stomach and inner leg. Thanks for the kind words, mate. This location is pretty awesome when the cloud is low. It does get snow here so I'll be back in winter. Hope you are good and Tee up that talk.

Oh my, trying to decide which would be worse, leaches or ticks!? Ticks are everywhere here and you can rarely go in the woods without coming out with at least a few and Otis even more, but for now, the leaches are only in a few areas and in the lakes...no land dwellers at this time. Yikes! But I certainly know that feeling after finding just one tick! Gotta take the bad with the good I guess. Bruce and Otis

Nice one Jeremy, it's nearly christmas and you still manage to find foggy locations. It's almost like you have an inside line on the weather. I was surprised to learn that Koalas and Wombats are very closely related. Ahhh leaches where would we be without them. I was reminded of my days in the Army working in rainforest and tropical areas. Leaches were the order of the day. Despite our best efforts they always managed to find a way in. We often couldn't shower for many days, sometimes weeks and it wasn't unusual to find dead leaches in our under wear when we did. I saw a bloke who had a leach attached to the corner of his eye when he woke up one morning. And then there was the tics....Anyway, I digress. Great video Jeremy, that last image was an absolute cracker. All the best.

Yeah, the fog is more low rain cloud up in the local mountains, the leech's don't bother me until the next day when they itch really bad. Great story mate and i hate ticks more.

Oh mate I hate leaches! So much! Spectacular opening image and they are very challenging to photograph, you nailed it. The second image I saw on IG is wonderful mate, I’m enjoying your work! Hope all is well!

After watching this video it decided to check myself for leaches. None found, only lice 😂 Great video and photos of of trees I have never heard of. It's good to see and hear a natural environment so full of wildlife. Have you got any other frogs that can play other instruments. Electric Guitar Frog perhaps 😂 Keep up the videos and photography, I'm really enjoying them 😊
