Got to say Scarpa was my first hiking boot and I still have a pair that is over 15 year old and they are still in good condition. Surprised to see they are making running shoes as well.

They have great trail running shoes. The Ribelle Run is an absolute banger.

Just a heads up the the durable upper of Scarpa Ribelle doesn’t have much give for wide feet. They’re almost built like a rock climbing shoe in that the upper has a wrap of rubber around the toe box that protects you from jagged rocks and scree. Take your time breaking them in before heading into the alpine or you’ll get hot spots on the widest part of your forefoot.

My first pair of proper running shoes used the BOA, the New Balance Sonic V1. They’re cheap and basic, but I got my half marathon PR in them, and they’re great for trying on shoes at the store cause you don’t have to untie the laces to take them off.

Q: how do you do the runners knot with the Boa dial?
