Now you need to figure out the power cord to run with the trolley. Two DYI types I have seen, run a cable next to the beam and then use miniature pulleys to ride on the cable with an eye so you can attach the wire to it or plan two I use, I purchased a 110 power cord rewinder and mounted it on the wall. When you pull the trolley it pulls the wire out and then catches. When it is time to move the trolley I pull it further out which releases the cord rewinder and then it rewinds itself until the distance i want it.

This is a timely video. Last week I got a Harbor Freight gantry at an auction. Like new but $350 less than one from the HF store. I was not looking forward to mounting the red HF cable hoist I already have, like the one you replaced. It's a goofy design, with the non-balanced mounting hole positions that require extra engineering and a custom made bracket, or 2 trolleys. Who thought that was a good idea?? Also you have to watch the cable and keep it even on the drum. Not with a chain hoist. I'm sold, getting one of these Vevors instead!

Works great. While watching the video, the motor never showed signs / sounds of struggling. Could you mention some information such as weight capacity rating, brand name of the mannitic base your using to lift with.

The magnet is a Steel Dragon brand. IIRC it's about 1300 lbs lifting capacity.

Dusty Baker of Cross Timers Bison has some great pyronees puppies if you want one to replace Dakota.

You should have used your old one to lift your new one up.

Is it still working good? Thinking about getting one.

Yep! Still going strong. It gets used multiple times a day to load sheets on the plasma table.
