    I'm 60. I started running a torch and welding with my dad at around 12. Your cut came out nice. I can tell a lot by the sound of the torch. I have my left hand under my right. That gives me the straightest cut. Very little slag on your cut. It sounded like you were using more 02 than I would but it came out beautiful. Taking pride in your work is a beautiful thing. Well done sir.

    As someone who works in foundational drilling , we call them Core barrels. We not only use them to cut rock cores, we also use it to "true" a drilled shaft. The cracked pockets are actually replaceable. We do it in the field all the time. Surprised they chose this method of repair to be honest

    • @ICWeld
      @ICWeld  7 місяців тому +1

      The ring on the core barrel was too thin. Most of the pockets had either cracked or bent the metal to where the teeth were ineffective. The new one I put on had a thicker ring. Should hold up longer. I described it as "hole saw" for those who have no idea what a core barrel is.😁😁
