If only they had planned this in advance. She could've driven up in the jeep to meet him, already with her bags, and they would've driven away instantly. It's obvious that because she hadn't originally planned to leave, she had to go back home to get her things and Doug caught her, then beat her up so badly that she was too afraid to run. :'-( But then, if Doug managed to find her when she eventually escaped on her own in Season 2, I imagine it wouldn't have been any different if she escaped with Buck a few years earlier. And if/when he tracked them down, the psychopath would've tried to kill Buck just like he did to Chimney.
@@Slingblade87 i think the reason why she had to leave is that in her head Doug is taunting her spirit. relieving the PTSD after she gave birth. another is she also needed to free doug to because they are legally married and chimney is just caught in the cross fire.

If Maddy run away with Buck, Doug certainly would kill them both. At that point, they hadn't met the 118. Neither of them had the strength to fight Doug back.
