Nice job! One final tip I can give you is to heat your spray cans in some warm water prior to spraying. Will give you a much finer spray!
Awesome! It was super hot out while painting so I assumed the cans were well heated, but good point for folks in colder climates or cold garages!
this is a fact with any rattle can solvents. painter of 20 yrs. lol do not heat in oven like i have seen done though.
Nice tip man!
Dont heat in microwave lol
I've done this when painting on cold days never thought about doing it regularly. Thanks!
Watched a few videos on how to paint hardbody r/c cars. Wish I had found yours first ❤. Sadly, I’ll never get those few hours watching other videos 🤦🏿♂️
This was great! Thank you. I now has a little less anxiety as I paint my first r/c car. 🙏🏿
Man you are good at any rc thing you do.
You could have edited out the wheelbarrow wipe out but you didn’t. That makes you awesome and I love your channel!
🤣🤣
That's one sweet rig! Good job on the paint you picked.
Thanks for making this video. I am painting my rc4wd this weekend and I am going to follow your instructions RC Girl!
The black on blue paint scheme, really looks great. looks even greater once put on the chassis, thumbs up 👍👍👍👍! Thanks for sharing. Keep 'em coming.
So glad I found your channel! I'm preparing to build my first RC ever and decided to do a hot pink Jeep. I was so intimidated about the whole process and getting into the hobby in general but now feel more confident painting and building with my SO and friends who are more seasoned than me. Subscribed!
Love the step by step process of your videos. I learned to solder with your soldering video and now I’m getting ready for my first hard body
This is really making me feel somewhat comfortable doing a hard body next! Another great vid!
Great job and that interior, WOW!!
That is a great job on painting that body. I sprayed my trx tactical with krylon military green. About 10 coats in still not happy finally got some o.d. green tamiya. Now I'm happy.
Perfect painted!
I really like your videos; they are great even when you do real things like tripping over the wheelbarrow.
I myself also get so engrossed in what I'm doing that I don't notice anything around me.
Great paint job on the jeep; keep them coming.
I'm very sincere about the comments I post on your channel.
Great video. Another great tool for doing the sanding in between coats is 0000 steel wool. Works really good and gets in the all the cracks and corners.
Great job. I would just add that it's always a good idea to use at least a surgical mask or a respirator for health and safety reasons even though you might be painting outside in open space. They'll help prevent paint particulates from entering your respiratory system. I personally use a 3M respirator with replaceable filters.
Looks nice, super simple and great results
You've done an amazing job of this also videoing it which makes it a lot more time consuming.. keep up the great work 👍👍👍😊😊
Awesome paint job !! I think it came out perfect!! 👍👍👍👍
Just saved this video as I’ve painted a couple hard bodies and wasn’t totally satisfied with the durability. This method looks like it should do the trick. Can’t wait to try it. Excellent tips. Thanks!!
I love that You and Your videos are so authentic, «Don’t... trip over a wheelbarrows» 😂. Hope you didn’t hurt yourself. «Don’t... use PS-smoke for windows». Everybody do mistakes in RC, I ruined the 3 speed gear for my HPI Baja on the first test race today. That’s $ 150 out the window... But you saved the day with this video RC-Girl! Thanks!
Great video, short and sweet but giving enough to know and follow on. Keep up the good work.
Great info. Looks good. Love these kind of videos.
Awesome paint job,great trailer👍👍
short and to the point. On the edge of painting my sons Monster Beetle Rere. Great workflow, useful. Thx🙌🏻
Looks awesome! Great job!
Great job! Nice color choice. Jeep looks awesome!
Fantastic job and very helpful video.
Amazing amazing results. Just leave the cans in warm water for a finer spray out of the can. Also on the last layer I normally assembled all the painted parts for a uniform and consistent finish. All around. But you sure make a super super awesome paint.
Wow great Vid! Love the matte finish!
Excellent work, excellent tutorial 👍🏻
You do it awesome as always!🤜🤛
Thanks for breaking this down into a short video, love it!
You are one talented lady. Skilled DIY'er / ballerina. The possibilities are endless for you. That paint looks top notch. Let's see you get a couple scratches on it now.
Great video/videos, glad that old writeup helped... the Jeep turned out great, love the matt finish!
I really dig that you leave the little hickups in your videos, it makes them very relatable.
Haha thanks! And thanks for the detailed write up. Made it easy to follow
Looks so sick, good job rc girl
Love the channel thanks for all tips
Nice work and great instructional video!
Thanks for that! I have a Tamiya Ford F350 High-Lift that I'm at the point where I'm ready to paint the body and this helps a lot.
great video I recently bought my first RC the RC4WD gelande 2 d90 and plan on getting another body for it and this video was really helpful as it will be my first time painting a RC body
That’s wicked love the build great video and big fan
Thanks RC Girl. Very informative as usual. Great video. 😊👍
Great video! The explanation will definitely be applicable to future jobs. Even more helpful are some of the tips by viewers. Please keep up the great work @RCGirl!
Really good video. I just purchased a Tamiya re-release Lunchbox black edition to reintroduce the RC, and gave myself only one condition: do a damn fine job finishing it. Great attention to the small details, and to getting the correct products for painting on poly substrates.
That looks really nice! Thanks -
Turned out great
that looks amazing
Very nice work.
Good video & nice paint job 👍👌
Great job girl!
That truck is awesome! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. And thank you for leaving the wheel barrel tripping scene in your video. Loved it:-)

Matte finish on that blue is REALLY nice! Looks like you will have a decent blooper compilation for the end of this year 😉

Good review. Also nice look.
One more tip, just kidding....
Excellent work, a beauty of a body.
The camera shots and lighting is getting much better!
You talking about Jeep right? ;)

Wow this is nice! U inspire to do it on my own jeep too!
Very nice! I've been wanting to do a Jurassic Park paint job on my TJ body. This will be very useful.
Great job 👍👍
Nice work. I really like the blue
Na I Gerry Toolin (gt660r@gmail.com) custom made it for me! I gave him a shout out towards the end 😁
Soooo cool! Thank you!
That was so funny seeing you trip, lmao!
That body came out great! Proper preparation and light, even coats are the most important parts of any paint job!
Instablaster...
I dig it, nice work!
Thanks!
Great painting 🎨...and tips for hard bodies👍🙂..hope your ok from your trip from wheel barrow..😀😊
You did a good job on that
Hi there I'm called Rob, I've been following you a while now. I saw the jeep wrangler today out on your back yard trail. It was absolutely brilliant and with your review I'm going to buy one tomorrow. Best wishes from South Yorkshire, England. X
Looks awesome that matte color reminds me of a real Jeep with a bed lined paint job 😉!
The thing I LOVE your vids. I've been subs since early on. The thing that makes them great for me is when you try something and it doesn't work, yet you admit it rather than edit it out. You're so down to earth a for real. Like keeping in when that poster fell on you. Just those little things are fab. And on this one with the tinted windows. You are wonderful and please keep it up :)
Thanks for sticking around!! 😀
@@RCGirl Hey, you're awesome. So many people would take out the funny bits. Keep them in. I laugh and learn (I'm not super on electrics). You give me hope :)
Great video👍👍
blue + matte = way awesomeness!
That thing looks great, I really like how you...LOOK OUT FOR THE WHEELBARROW!
What a great video thank you
Nice painting video
You almost full sent it over that wheelbarrel!!!!! Lol great quick vid!!!!! Love the color!!!
🤣🤣🤣 I know. It broke my sandal lol but I survived to see another day
Nice! Thank you
Thanks for the video, now i'm confident enough for my first paintjob on an scx24 bronco, i was worried to miss a crucial step.
Nice video!
Reminds me of my custom 6x6 work I did wow amazing
Súper gracias por los concejos de gran ayuda Super thanks for the helpful tips
Great how to video. Tinting the windows does work with Tamiya PS-31 smoke, but the trick if you wanna see through it is to just add one light coat of PS-31. The more coats you apply the darker the color gets. But the window tint film is also a good alternative. The matt finish really looks very cool and I like the blue color. You did a great job!
Yeah I thought the PS-smoke would work too. I've used it before on lexan bodies just fine. But for some reason it reacted badly with my window plastic and made it look like it had been sanded... super weird! I should have showed photos of it.
@@RCGirl Well you got it solved now. It happened to me too that I just added one coat too many and than the result was too dark. Sometimes you can try it again by removing the PS paint with nitro fuel 20%.
Amazing
Wow! Wow again!
I really like that body!!! And the jeep is nice too lol.😘 but I do love that color.
Nice Xtra Speed Jeep hard body paint work
But the bumper looks good on Cherokee ;-D
Something I have done in the past when painting a hard body is to primer the body and then paint the entire body the gloss black for the interior before you apply the body color. Mask off the interior and anything you want to keep the black color and proceed with the rest of your paint process. When using metallic paints, I have been known to put a silver down between this coat and the final color finish. Add the gloss or the matte clear coat and it's just got a look unlike others who use the same color on their vehicles.
Nice body!
Awesome job hope your ok after that fall.
Nice! 😃
