Simon Mayo does, in my opinion, the best interviews with industry people
These guys, Paul Thomas Anderson and Wes Anderson are shining lights in main stream American cinema.
Throw in Tarantino in the mix. What I like about those directors is they dont try too hard to appease the main stream and have there original and fresh movies.
Richard Linklater too.
bigaback no
Not Tarantino, he was good in the 90s but not now.
Lewis Cranston I disagree because I like Inglorious Basterds more than any one of his films and I absolutely love Django Unchained. Sure, i agree it needed trimming but no one can deny his prowess as a filmmaker and writer. he truly makes cinematic films. But hey opinions are subjective and I can respect that. But what I can't respect are people who take other people's opinions (marks) and just hate on something or someone because a film critic does it. It's so obvious you are saying exactly the samething Kermode says about Tarantino.
A pretty insightful interview with the Coens!
Must see this film. Reminds me of 'THE GHOST OF NEIL DIAMOND' , a dark comedy about a fading folk legend, who's homeless, who goes through constant rejections, including his partner, who finds himself completely alone, but it's all different because it's set in the Far East, where the only option left is to impersonate - though it gnaws his soul - the one and only Neil Diamond. Published in 2008, with revised edition in 2010, predating this film a few years. But must see this Llewyn. Sounds such a terrific movie and it's such an amazing and wonderful coincidence.
In No Country for Old Men Josh Brolin's character is also called Llewellyn, which I thought was a beautiful name. The names are closely related to each other and the French Louis.
Why do people keep confusing Llewellyn with Llewyn? They are two different names.
@@HarveyBrady They are literally different names, but they share the same Welsh origin.
It's not mentioned here, and it's a bit too much of a coincidence to wonder if the real-life busker James Bowen, whose own true story of himself and his cat Bob, were the inspiration for this film. Published homeless busker: Street cat named Bob Clip 688 - 23 Feb 2012 14_54_07.mov
