Could they have added a few more connectors, screws and panels to remove? Geez.. I love Kawasaki, but this is a common theme on all their bikes. Thanks for the very informative video.
I'm confused, did you not put on the sealing grease? As far as I know it comes with sealing grease. The K&N one at least. Will be getting mine tomorrow.
Follow up 2 years later... did you notice any improvement over the stock air filter? I'm hearing they may not be worth the extra cost over OEM filtrr5, in fact they may require more maintenance. ?
@@devin1148 Last year in May, I had to replace the fuel pump after it died. I used the opportunity, with the fuel tank already removed, to have the mechanic check the air filter. Surprisingly, it was nearly clean with just a hint of light dust. The mechanic used an air compressor to gently remove the minimal dust present. My Z900 had 10,000 miles on it at the time and had been through some dust storms. I remember this because on that day, I also changed the oil and oil filter, and I took a picture, that is still in my gallery, of the odometer to mark the oil change.
Love your content bro! At the end of the oil change video you talked about doing a video discussing how you got the deal you got on it and everything. You still going to post one about it?

@@Smoove233 I am 6' Tall the seat height is great. I can flat foot at stops with ease, my legs get a little crunched when riding but nothing that makes me not love riding this beast!!

Only line was the fuel line to the tank. No other lines or wires that I remember. There is a plug on the pump the bottom of the tank real easy to remove
@@SimpleSimon Thanks. also this may be a dumb question when when you removed the fuel lines how did you keep fuel coming out of the line or was the tank completely empty?
Wow that's a lot of work to turn your bike into a vacuum cleaner because it's guaranteed to ingest dirt now, oem doesn't use those style of air filters for a reason
I have not had a chance to ride it. It has been to cold or Raining. I will be working on a video showing performance gains before and after air filter install when the weather permits.
I just changed my air filter thanks to your video! I appreciate your hard work!
Thanks for this! I'm going to be removing the gas tank to get at the ECU to have it flashed and this is just what I needed to see.
Glad it helped

Thanks for watching don't forget to subscribe.
Glad it’s gonna be a 5 minute job 🤣
Solid video, will be watching this when I take out the 100 bolts and try remember where they all go back on
Thanks for watching!!
Air filter change on my ninja 250r: remove 2 pieces of plastic, 1 and 3 screws.
Air filter on my new z900: remove engine.
hahaha so true. Thanks for watching

My local bike shop charges $150 to change the air filter. Now I understand why and don't fault them
It is a lot of work!! Thanks for watching!!
Well done video didn't waste a second thanks
Thanks just watched this before my install .
Thanks for watching
Thanks and waiting for more of such diy's
No need to remove all of that plus the tank. You can just prop the tank up and remove half the stuff.
Follow up 2 years later... did you notice any improvement over the stock air filter? I'm hearing they may not be worth the extra cost over OEM filtrr5, in fact they may require more maintenance. ?
No difference in performance. A little more intake sound. Thanks for watching.
Putting the plastics back on is tricky for me some reason.
For being a “naked” bike, that sure is a lot of panels lol
lol yea it should be a semi naked.
Ugh that's too much work 😭 I'm just gonna assume mine is clean for now...
this is what i was thinking hahaha. how many miles does yours have? im at 11,200 and I assume its never been changed

Hi, I hope you can help me.
Is there a need to empty the tank before removing it?
Thanks :)

did you ever have an issue with bending that hard fuel like under the tank i see you did not disconnect it?
No I have not had any issues.

No It came with the bike Sorry. Thanks for watching

I would like to know how the ride went and did it change the exhaust note, throttle response, gas mileage etc?
I am currently working on a video to review this aftermarket air filter, I am collecting the data now I should have it up in the next week or so.

is there any sound differences can you hear with these new one ?
No I cannot hear any difference.
is there any wires that need to be removed for the fuel gauge ect that i did not see in the video??

Many people can attest, not worth the money to change to aftermarket filters. Stock disposable filter is still king.
