Enjoyed the video. I can listen to you talking about paper for hours! It's great that it puts you in a good mood; it does the same for me too. 😍 Keep the videos coming & have a great day!
OMG- I LOVE your reference books! I tend to keep all of my paper pads together (as opposed to tearing the pads apart) simply because I would have 700 categories otherwise and the one piece I want is never going to be in the category I think it should be in at the moment I want it, lol. By doing it your way, I don't have to dig through *more paper than I want to admit*, thank you for sharing!
Hi! I love Park Lane paper pads because of the quality, the prints, and the assortment. I almost exclusively buy PL and DCWV pads now! YES! please continue these types of videos (I know I’m late to the game 😉)but I can play these type of videos all day long! TFS! 😊
I totally agree ... love the Park Lane paper pads. I'm hoping to do more of these types of videos once I move into my new house. lol ... I love watching people sort through paper too!
So many decisions to make about paper pads!! I don't have very many so this was a good thing to watch so that I am more aware when I shop. Your snuggle pup at the end was so sweet.
I agree. I love the Park Lane Paper Pads. And I use them to make base pages too. One that I fell in love with was called Americana but it had so many nice florals and not really 4th of July.
Hi Silene ... I agree that Park Lane Americana paper pad is awesome ... I love that one too! It's gorgeous!!! I might need to create some base pages with that Americana paper pad after I finish the Floral Romance one. Hope you have an awesome day! Karen
Hi Karen, What a glorious scrapbook/craft room you have and an amazing collection of paper pads. You are very well organised; thanks for sharing your ideas with us and thought process. I enjoyed looking through those paper pads. I have the 6x8 Paper pad and chipboard pieces for the Sunny Day collection. I absolutely loved the Fall paper pad and the mixed media-type paper pad and hope to see you creating layouts with them. I loved the 12x12 diecut book and cutaparts. I haven’t seen them in Australia but that doesn’t mean they aren’t available here. I loved your base pages and the concept but haven’t made any yet myself but do plan to give it a go sometime. Lilybelle is very cute and that blanket looked very warm! Tfs and Best Wishes, Rebecca
Hi Rebecca ... thanks for watching ... I had a lot of fun making this video and sharing and just looking through the paper and talking with y'all about it. I recently took apart an entire paper pad and I'm making base pages and also some card. I think I have about 15 base pages and 5 cards and still have some scraps left over. I'm thinking about sharing what I was able to create in a video and then doing more base pages with another paper pad and creating a video on the process. I think it's just super fun and very relaxing to just create pages and not have to worry about photos or titles or embellishments and to just play with the paper. I did get the idea to create base pages from Janet at RTS Scrapbooking (ua-cam.com/video/psNqZaKu_AA/v-deo.html) ... so if you are interested in learning more about it, you might be want to check out Janet's video. Take care and have an awesome day! Karen
@@YesPleasePapercrafts Thanks for your reply, Karen. I have seen Janet’s base pages videos but her videos are always worth revisiting. Thanks for sharing, Karen. I like the idea of making a reference for my pads. I’m putting that on my list to do later. I’m still midst rearranging my room. I have all my paper sorted now! Hooray! Now to rearrange some of my other things. Then I’ll be ready for some more detailed categorizing...
Thank you so much 🤗 LilyBelle is such a sweet girl and so funny that she loves to get under the blankets and I was so happy to be able to catch that in a video to share with y'all.
I think paper pads are great to use for base pages too. The papers all co-ordinate and takes off one less thing I have to think about! Just found you recently, Glad I did.
That was so much fun watching and listening to you talk about your paper pads. I break down my paper pads using the same logic as you, keep them together if the "go together". If there are a few papers that go together, but the rest don't, I make a page kit out of those and then file the rest in my rainbow system of loose papers. Yes, I would love to see you do a base page video. I also enjoyed seeing pictures of your scrappy place! TFS
Thanks Diane ... I thought about creating page kits from some of the paper pads too and that would be a fun video to make to take a paper pad and tear it down and build some page kits 🤗
I take apart all paper pads and make kits. I store them in 12x12 protectors, some creative memory protectors or page planners. But I never keep them in pads. I don't have as many as most since I organize by the month. I have 1 iris case per month and don't buy until it is close to gone..i have 2 iris cases for Christmas so am on a no spend for that. I just want to use up the old stuff...but still.look forward to the new. But I loved this video and listened to it why I scrapbooked. We do what works for us 😌
Hi Gayle ... Yes, that is so true that we do what works for us. That's awesome that you buy as you go and I'm sure that can be difficult at times but I think it probably does have a lot of advantages because you probably know exactly what you have and you spend less time organizing things or finding things because your inventory is smaller. Also, because you use your paper as you get it, you probably don't have the issue of older paper going out of style or falling out of love with paper (which does happen to me occasionally). I sometimes wish I didn't' have as much because it can be very frustrating not being able to find things quickly but having the reference guides has made a big difference in being able to find paper when I need it. But I really don't mind having too much paper ... I just love having the paper to look at and play with and it always makes me feel better when I'm around paper ... lol ... I'm definitely a paper addict and it's so it's hard for me to stop buying it.
I love all your videos especially you tearing apart your pads. I just decide to take apart 80% off my pads. I am moving in to my shed craft room in a few weeks, so would love to get them all torn down and organized. You make me smile, I am the same way as you, I adore paper. Yes please more vide like thes. Thank you Lillybell is adorable.
Thanks Joann ... that's so awesome that you are going to be moving into your new shed craft room soon. I'm so excited for you!!! It's always a fun time when you get to set up your craft room for the first time. I think no matter where your craft space is ... whether you have a room in your house, or a separate shed or space in your basement or even just the the corner of your spare bedroom ... and, no matter how big or small your space may be ... setting up a new space is always so exciting!!! So, hope you have fun with it!!!
I really enjoyed this video watching your thought process of whether to break down the paper pads or not. I'm like you and never thought of breaking any of mine down until I saw Janet from RTS do it and now I'm seeing lots of people do it and I'm contemplating doing it too! I would personally like to see all the longer type videos (like this one) with explanations of why you do certain things or you actually doing them too (like making base pages or tearing down pads, etc). I hope that made sense. Thanks for sharing more of your process! Lilly Belle was super cute snuggling in the blanket too!!!
Thanks Julie ... that does make sense. I think I will be doing more videos like this and I'll try to do the base pages video in this format (talking as a do it) instead of filming a video, speeding it up and doing a voice over (because that's actually a lot more work to create). lol ... I really think it will depend on if I can actually talk and create something at the same time ... but I'll give it a try.
lol ... I never thought that I would tear apart a paper pad either but I'm having a lot of fun doing it and I find I'm using more of my papers!!! I still can't bring myself to cut up a 12x12 sticker sheet but I find I don't use the stickers as much as I maybe would if I had them organized differently so I may get brave one of these days soon and cut one of those up 😁
I have that paint chip pad. I actually store mine with my 12 x 12 solid cardstock since I have used it as page backgrounds exactly like I would use cardstock.
Thanks so much for the suggestion .... it was very helpful to hear everyone's ideas on how this paper should be stored. I decided to tear this paper pad down and store it 3 different ways .... I'll put one of each of the papers with the little squares in my rainbow category, 1 of each of the papers with the large rectangles in cut-a-part border category and the rest I'll store by color.
lol ... so true!!! I have so much paper that I don't really need to buy more but I end up buying it anyway because I think that it's probably not going to be there if I go back for it later. 🤗
Great tips! Do you ever purge paper from your paper pads? I know for me sometimes I just don't need 2 of some papers, and I want to conserve space. The Paint Chip pad I would put under rainbow, if I kept it together (I don't keep my paper pads together, because I immediately purge the ones I don't like, or know I won't use). Same with the inky backgrounds one. That one in particular is gorgeous!
I just found your videos! Absolutely love them!!!😍😍🤩🤩 The pebbles paperbook - would you put the cut-a-parts with the papers that they coordinate with???
I really enjoy your videos (and the puppies 😁). I have been trying to find the “Lazy Scrapper Paper pad” ever since you did a layout with a while back. It isn’t in any of the stores in my area (which aren’t many) and you can’t order it online. I loved how you used it to make your layouts. Have a great day and I’m hoping to see you Friday night at the virtual crop ♥️
Hi Tina ... I recently watched a Tuesday Morning "shop with me" video and as the person was flipping through the paper pads, I saw one of the lazy scrapbooker paper pads and she just passed right by it and I was thinking that I wish that someone who was looking for that could have come across it in their store. I was really shocked when I found Heidi Swapp Color Shine in TM almost a year after I saw it in TM the first time. So I think there may still be hope that your store could get the Lazy Scrapbooker ... you never know what you'll find. Every time I go to the stores here, I look for one of those paper pads because I really wanted to do a giveaway with that because so many people were looking for it after I shared it in my video, so I still flip through every paper pad when I go and still hope that one day I will find one. Hope to see you on Friday too! I'm looking forward to getting together for some scrapbooking!!! 🤗
Thanks for sharing 😉 i thought you"ll show us how you actually tear them down hehe i don't know about your other viewers but i really enjoy that, even if its a long video, actually specially if its a long video lol I found very helpful what you said about how to decide what to do with the paper pads, i struggle with taking mine apart cause i don't know if I'll regret later lol
lol ... I'm going to make a video on using a paper pad to make base pages and then another video on taking a paper pad apart to make page kits and I thought about tearing all the pages out before I start these videos, but think I will probably tear it up as I make the video because it should start off as a paper pad. I have always had a really hard time taking things apart or taking things out of the original packaging but I'm finding that the more I do it, the more I use my stuff and so I'm continuing to try doing more things like this. So far (fingers crossed) I don't regret tearing any of my paper pads apart. 😁
Love the breakdown of papers and I think that way too but I live paper it can never be enough but I am trying to use my stash more lately and I do "mix" them up sometimes with others so I have an excuse to buy more. Tyfs and I am a new subbie 😀💜
Hi Kari ... Thanks so much for becoming a subscriber. lol ... I think for all of us that love paper, we can always find an excuse as to why we need to buy more paper!!! 😁
Hi Karen, I would leave that “paint chip” paper pad together & take it with me to crops so when I need a little piece to punch or I need a color to mat a photo I would have a nice assortment of color. I could see myself using it with punches to make monochromatic or rainbow type layouts....thinking Paige Evans style....make sense?
Hi Renee ... Thanks so much for sharing your ideas. Yes, that makes sense. Doing something Paige Evans styles with a lot of squares in different colors was one of the reasons that I was thinking that I didn't want to tear this paper pad up and store it by individual colors. I could just picture myself trying to pick through my paper by color looking for the paper from this paper pad. That's a great idea to bring this paper pad to crops also. I think I'm going to leave it together as a paper pad and just put it in my reference guide under "Rainbow" so that when I go to do a rainbow layout with all the colors, I will probably think to look in that category.
I'm thinking you are talking about the paper pad with the pages that looked like paint sample swatches. Thanks for the ideas. lol ... I did this video a long time ago so I might need to go back and watch it again.
Hi Sylvia ... thanks so much for leaving this comment to share how you store this paper.
Hi Constance ... thank you so much for this idea!!! I decided to tear down this paper pad and I'm going to keep one of each color of the little squares papers together and put it in my rainbow category and then one of each color of the larger rectangle papers and put that in my cut-a-part borders category. What ever paper is left over, I will sort by color. I think storing it this way will give me an opportunity to use this paper in variety of ways 1) if I'm looking for a specific color, 2) if I want to make a layout using the rainbow, or 3) use it to make borders!!!
I too started making base pages. Take a double sided piece of paper, cut it in half, flip one half over, attach to piece of card stock, cover seam with washi or a strip of scrap paper and you’re done! Easy peasy!! Janet has lots of other layouts so check her out. Love watching your videos lady. You give me inspiration! {{HUGS}} from SW Florida 😎
Hi Nadine ... thanks so much for the suggestion .... it was very helpful to hear everyone's ideas on how this paper should be stored. I decided to tear this paper pad down and store it 3 different ways .... I'll put one of each of the papers with the little squares in my rainbow category, 1 of each of the papers with the large rectangles in cut-a-part border category and the rest I'll store by color.
Hi Rosemarie ... I have a couple of videos about the reference guides that I created for my paper. The first video is ua-cam.com/video/7JWHXOX4CFw/v-deo.html and then a follow-up video ua-cam.com/video/33tNOXhGzY0/v-deo.html. I also have several videos in my Facebook group where I share how to download images from the internet and also how to print out the images in the right size using Microsoft Word. To join the Facebook group, you can click this link. facebook.com/groups/CraftRoomOrganizationWithYesPleasePaperCrafts/ Hope this helps.
Thanks Constance .... That's a great idea. Although it might take awhile to figure out which pages in this paper pad go with paper pads I have. And, I think for most of what's in there, I don't have the matching paper pads. I probably should just go ahead and tear that paper pad apart and put it with my other die cuts.
@@YesPleasePapercrafts there were a couple that stood out to me, but I also only have 10ish paper pads, so I'm sure that would be more difficult if I had even double the amount I have now!
Wow…very pretty papers!! I love paper, too, and all the different patterns are such eye candy!! Out of curiosity…how much time do you spend in your craft room? Based on your projects and incredible organizing systems, I imagine it must be daily…like a full time job!! I don’t spend as much time as I’d like in mine, but I’ve reorganized a lot so it makes the time I do spend more productive which is nice. 😊
I retired from my job of 36 years in 2017 and so I have a lot of time to do crafting and I've spent a lot of time in my craft room over the past 5 years but not as much as I would like. I'm limited in the amount of time I can sit or stand because of my health challenges with lymphedema. I get a lot of swelling and pain in my legs if I sit or stand for too long. If I didn't have the lymphedema, I would probably be in my craft room all day, every day!!!
@@YesPleasePapercrafts I’m sorry to hear about your health problems!! It sounds like it can be quite painful. And yet when you listen to your videos all I hear is someone who is upbeat, happy and inspiring!! I also wish I could spend every day in my craft room but unfortunately real life intrudes sometimes 😂 I’m really enjoying your videos!! Thanks!!
Hey, have you heard anything recently about Michaels no longer going to be doing the hot but paper pads??? Didn't see any of those pads in my store and I saw one person on UA-cam say they weren't, thought I'd check with other crafters who use Michaels.
Hi Kelly ... I have not heard anything about Michaels discontinuing the Hot Buy paper pads but then I haven't been shopping at Michael's in a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if they did discontinue the Hot Buy Paper Pads just because the price of everything is going up.
Hi Sharon ... That's a great idea! lol ... the only problem is that my rolling storage cubes where I store my cardstock are so full that it didn't fit all of my cardstock and so I had to put my purple cardstock (which I don't use as much) in a different place. But I definitely could put this paper pad in with my cardstock when I get some of my cardstock used up.
Hi Melody ... I'm so sad about what's happening to Tuesday Morning ... and I'm really sorry that your store was on the list. I checked the list and didn't see my store on the list but I think there's going to be a second round of store closings so keeping my fingers crossed that it will be spared. Sending hugs your way.
Hi Karen..I've been addicted to your videos and always look forward to new ones. In one of your recent videos you mentioned a scrapbook subscription that you have that's $29.99 and it's not a monthly subscription. I wrote the name down, but I'll be darned if I can find where I wrote it down. Would you mind telling me who it's with please?
Thanks Sharon .. it's the Club EP from Echo Park and it's $29.99 with free shipping and gets shipped every other month. The kits are usually made up of a new collection from either Echo Park or Carta Bella. Here's a link if you want more information on this kit club. www.clubechopark.com/

Really hoping that things will get better for TM and they won't close more stores.

I want to go paper shopping!!!
I just found you and I subscribed.
Put travel pages from pad with a 6x6 travel pad and make base pages for a travel album.
@@YesPleasePapercrafts great! I'll watch them for sure ;)
I think I'm going to leave it together as a paper pad and just put it in my reference guide under "Rainbow" so that when I go to do a rainbow layout with all the colors, I will probably think to look in that category.
i really need to sort my paper pads - i don't use them nearly as much as i should!
Cut apart strip pages and squares to make base pages. Find sketches that use strips and squares.
I'm thinking you are talking about the paper pad with the pages that looked like paint sample swatches. Thanks for the ideas. lol ... I did this video a long time ago so I might need to go back and watch it again.
I have this pad. I would use it to cut out flowers and fruit, and special items. I keep it together.
Hi Sylvia ... thanks so much for leaving this comment to share how you store this paper.
For the paint chip paper pad, I would take one sheet of each of the small squares and make a kit out of it, then break the rest up by color
I think I would take apart the paint chip paper pad and put it into my rainbow papers because that’s how I would look for it.
Do you have a video about your reference book? I am fascinated by what i saw you flipping thru
Its kind of funny how we all speak in Janetisms!
For the diecut, tags, etc., if I had the paper pad that corresponded with sheet, I would rip out that sheet and put it with the paper pad I had
Karen, I think put the Paint Chip Paper Pad at the end of your Cardstock solid papers.
I’d like to see a base page video too
Tuesday Morning filed bankruptcy and closing a lot of stores..Unfortunately my local store was on the list. I’m sad to see it go.
Yes Please Papercrafts i know. Love my Tuesday Morning
Definitely by colors
I’m same way love paper
@@YesPleasePapercrafts Thank you Karen!

Hope you have an awesome week. Karen 🤗
I would store as rainbow
Our Tuesday Morning is closing:(
I'm so sorry to hear that your store is closing. The store that is in my city is not on the list for this year but I think they will be announcing more store closings next year and hoping that it's not on that list either. Really hoping that things will get better for TM and they won't close more stores.
Karen, Karen, Karen. You just cost me about $30 - I’ve got paper pads that I hadn’t seen before your video to buy now. 🤷🏻♀️ Great video content - I’ve got new ideas on how to store my paper pads.
lol ... I'm the same way when I watch anyone go through paper pads and collections. I remember the first time I watched Janet at RTS Scrapbooking show the Parklane Paper Pads ... because after I watched her video, I ended up going to JoAnn's online and spending about $70. So, happy that I did because those paper pads from Park Lane are some of my absolute favorites!!!
I like but like face too
