Great install video (as always). Planned on using this to help install the lock when the wife and I got our new 2022 Rykers. Fortunately, the 2022 Rykers hitting the U.S. are now including the parking brake lock as well as the electrically locking frunk.
I have learned a lot of install information from you..i’m planning on purchasing a ryker 900 and learning from you all the modifications that can be done..stay sweet. love your attitude..personality
Spot on Beth. I have to admit that my heart was in my mouth when the air intake slipped. But great install video and I loved the end shot of you disappearing into the mist. Beautiful! If I can make my content half as entertaining and interesting as you do I’ll be very happy indeed. On that note I will be getting a video out just as soon as the Scottish weather and the flu give me a break lol. Namaste 🙏🏻
Hi!!! I am so sorry you are not feeling well. The flu? Ugh!!!!!! I hope you are up and riding soon, missing your vids and beautiful countryside!! Thanks for always being so complimentary! Luckily I did not scratch anything!! I really was not expecting it to come off like that. As far as the misty ending, I think you are the only one that watches to the end. I like to put extra stuff and the end as a "bonus" to my loyal watchers lol!!! We don't get fog like that often, so I jumped on my bike and thought it was pretty cool. Thinking of making it part of my intro? I have a vid of me coming out of the mist. Just a thought. FEEL BETTER SOON!
I found placing a thick silicone pad under the parking brake lever positions the lever up just enough so you do not need to jiggle the lever to have it engage.
Thanks, Beth. Bookmarking your vids here and there for future projects. Haven't got the Ryker yet, currently on a 1100 Yammie but soon. The mudguard lights you installed *really* showed their worth as you drove away into the fog. That one is a must-do.
Hi there, thanks for watching. When I first got my Ryker, I did my mods in order of safety, then comfort and lastly fun stuff. The fender lights were one of the first I did. Love them.
Another GREAT Job Beth !! Thinking about doing this mod also, bought the Black Again that you demoed on another video, great stuff!! Keep up the great work 👍👍
Thanks again Beth, as you say, we in the UK already have the lock, however I wish we had the same rear turn signals as you guys. So jealous of that weather.....raining here again today!
They probably knew that putting a lock cylinder in a plastic housing wont prevent anyone above toddler strength to just rip the p-brake until the plastic gives up and off they go.
I have this part too. And yes I am a culprit I have locked my Ryker with a U-lock, when at the gym. I don't do it anymore, those peeps dont want to mess with me!! hhahahah. NOw I am just waiting for the neighbor to drop off the drill, I have the bit to do the whole. I have the reverse lever extension, have my Led lights need to be installed, put the same ones in my Scion :-)..Thanks for the video!!!
I bought this too off of amazon (it came with a new OME plastic piece with the hole in it) before i bought my bike, lol also can you send me the website to your friend that sells the Can AM decals and website for Radiator Cover, thank you my Ryker Angel, Happy Safe Riding as always,
If you put a piece of tape over the place you intend to drill it will stop the bit from sliding off the mark. Alternatively if you have an awl you can also make an indentation to hold the bit from skipping away.
Ryker Rydes just had dealer come pick up week old Ryker cause of the condensation on inside of the headlights and some funky white stain on the rims. He said they don’t do pick ups. I said ok you’ll be getting a call from Morgan and Morgan...Today. An hour later a guy was loading it on trailer free of charge.
use an ordinary spiral bit for the hole!! you might have to change bits a few times, but there's less chance of going 'too deep' compared to a stepped bit...
Hey I’m new to the channel and also a new Ryker owner. I purchased two different locks drilled the hole put the bolts in and everything, everything was looking good the lock works perfectly. But not on the bike, when I put it in park I can lock it when it’s not in park the lock works as it should, I purchased another one and had the same problem. Do anyone have an answer to what I’m doing wrong before I go crazy.. please and thank you
Beth : I suggest your next purchase should be a fluorescent waistcoat which fits over your jacket , especially in foggy conditions - Safety First Always!!
I agree!! But this was a random thing, to have fog like that!! If it was foggy, I would never ride. This was just for the channel. Ps thanks fir watching the entire video!!
This is something I will do to my Ryker, whenever I get it. You can get it from BRP "LOCKING PARKING BRAKE LEVER 219401021" $24.99 with the cover. See it in the "Build your Ryker" on their website. Excellent job Beth! Love your videos.
Well, I think it's time for me to go from two wheels to three. Watching your vlogs has been a major reason why. That and finding out today that there is a top case and two side cases available for the Ryker. (I think the one side case looks odd.) You really should be getting a commission from the company. 😏 Ride safe and stay well.
Hi Kyle! Thanks so much for watching my vlogs! I agree with you, the one side bag, looks so "off" to me as well. They are really starting to come out with some great aftermarket accessories and bags for the Ryker. My favorite site is Slingmods.
Hallo Beth! Great video as Always. We have the lock on the bike when we buy it here in Sweden. How did you do the coulor changing on the sides of your bike , the "Can Am" text? /Jenny
That's one thing I don't like about these bikes, everything is snap on, Anyone walking by that knows about the lego pieces can take your stuff while your in the store our out on the town. Is there anyway to lock everything?
Looking at the lock makes me wonder how hard it would be to take a screwdriver and pop off the lock arm, unlock and away it goes. The arm is just thin plastic.
Ryker Rydes I was getting drowsy when I wrote that. Someone buying a 2020 Ryker can request the break lock at the dealer as an accessory installed for you.
After upgrading the horn, this was my 2nd upgrade. I don't use it all of the time as I feel safe at home and at work. I only tend to use it when I'm parking some place in which I cannot easily keep an eye on it. It's not like regular sport bike that any two people just lift up and put in a van. Stealing a ryker would take a lot of effort. I guess my biggest concern really would be somebody putting it in neutral and rolling it into traffic or whatever. Regardless, I'm glad I have it for when I want to use it.
I'm surprised Can Am doesn't have any anti-theft device stock on the Ryker. Seems like a Ryker is something you should have a garage to store it in and not park it on the street.
CRAZY METALMAN Key Holder for Can Am Ryker Accessories Ignition Key Case Fobs Cover Chrome....I purchased this cover for the FOB to make it look fancy and so I can attach something to it so i wont lose it. I know you hate the key,lol
Why? To make more money off USA purchasers; they come standard on international models, right? When I'm through, I'll have 99 keys. One for the brake, the gas tank, the glove box, so on and so forth.🤔 Then pay someone to put it on if you don't.

Ryker Rydes It’s definitely worth experimenting with. Very atmospheric. 👌🏻
No locks in Canada either.
I found placing a thick silicone pad under the parking brake lever positions the lever up just enough so you do not need to jiggle the lever to have it engage.
Great tip James! I will try it, thanks!!
Great job Beth. That should discourage most thieves. Your getting better with setting up your angles to show what your doing.
Take care
Thanks Wendy!!! I’m trying!!

Cool video. My new 900 will be ready next week. Will include the windshield, stabilizer bar, and parking brake lock. You have a killer bike!

Thanks again Beth, as you say, we in the UK already have the lock, however I wish we had the same rear turn signals as you guys. So jealous of that weather.....raining here again today!
HI Lee! Isn't it strange how the same bike has subtle differences in other countries? I wonder what other anomalies there are?
Nice install!! Those taillights look so cool in the foggy closing shot.
Thanks! It was a very unusally foggy day so I ran out to grab that footage!
Great install Beth ... The Ryker's a Cool Machine! 👍😁🤘 Beanie
Thanks mate!!
Why in the world Can Am leave that off US models?! Very informative and good install. Thanks
I know right!!! Crazy!
They probably knew that putting a lock cylinder in a plastic housing wont prevent anyone above toddler strength to just rip the p-brake until the plastic gives up and off they go.
Great video. If they want it, it’s got! It’s a plastic deterrent. Nothing a screwdriver can’t tackle. Be safe out there. No slipping.
I am sure you’re right, but any little deterrence is better than nothing.
@@RykerRydes agreed!
I believe this lock is a must. Good job.

Well Beth. This video only cost me $30. Thanks for upload.
Canadian Rykers don’t come with a parking brake lock as well.

Why in the world didn't the USA get this as standard equipment? Seems dumb. I wonder if that panel can be removed to perfectly center the hole?
Agreed!! The newer models come with it.
@@RykerRydes it didn't come with my 2023

@@logancharles3610 too funny! You do get free tows with BRP!
Ryker Rydes well this is all on the dealer. They should of tested and checked out bike before presented to customer.
@@logancharles3610 100% agree
If you put a screwdriver between the parking break and lock you can pop that lever past the lock bolt in seconds and it will roll .
It’s really just a deterrent. I’d recommend getting an alarm/gps locator system
use an ordinary spiral bit for the hole!! you might have to change bits a few times, but there's less chance of going 'too deep' compared to a stepped bit...
Great tip! Thanks for watching!
I just put mine in today. But I'm afraid with just a small pry bar that the lock can be rendered useless 😢
Agreed not the best, but it’s a deterrent.
