You can easily get the tail stomp attack animations if you guarded against swoop and a wall isnt behind you. Meaning you could get that attack animation if you give him room to land and you guard against his swoop. Also, you DO NOT want to keep your shield up at all time. You only want to keep it up when he is attacking. his attacks drain a lot of stamina and keeping it up constantly will not give enough time to regain stamina. Some people don't use the grass shield. Two points u should know
You have to kill the boss named Pinwheel at the entrance to the Cave of Giants. He drops the Rite of Kindling which allows you to kindle up to twenty estus flasks.
Hoooooly SHEOT! i FINALLY Beat him! i used the Black Knight Halberd and Cleansing Great Shield to block most of his attacks. Blocking his flying swoop attack head on and getting him to do to butt smash is what finally worked for me after hundreds of tries. Thanks for this vid!
I am using a black knight halberd +5 no resin or anything, I got his health to half with tail cuts but it doesn't give me the sword. Am I doing something wrong? Could I be hitting it in the wrong spot? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My Kalameet doesnt wait that long when using Calamity, your takes some leasure, my is 1 second faster, so I cant use the opportunity to get behind him, had to bait for his charge and then slam attack with the tail.
Tell me if this is strange or normal. So I did this with the Halbert (gargoyle) at 10+. So through out the whole fight I only hit his tail I mean ONLY HIS TAIL. Through out the whole fight his tail never broke off and he died with his tail still on and I only attacked the tail. Does this make sense or something off about that? This is my first time killing Kalameet and honestly I really pissed at the ring you go like come on, I got trolled hard there :/ If someone can give advice or something than thanks. Um...I did. I died multiple times and tried different ways but never cut the tail. Eh I got the second one and I don't care anymore. Still a fun game but I guess it's gliched on me or something :P
Hey you seriously don't want to give up your honour ;D ... just keep on trying. I won't give up until I did it! But what the maker of this video says is not true. His dive attack isn't that rare. Just stay far away from Kalameet. He will mostly breathe fire or do his forward swipe attack (the attack with awesome range that will kick you back if you block it). Just wait for his dive attack, get directly behind him and he will always use the tail stomp but you have to be fast to trigger it.
so how about my situation. I am doing a playthrough using only a normal mace and leather armour... no upgrades, estuses to 10. And my mace is too short to reach his tail at ANY animation. Even the tail stomp to the ground, i cannot cut his tail, simply because the mace 2handed is really really slow. Any ideas on when i can get a cut?
I'm level 41, stats Vit,15. End,18. Str,34. Dex,18.(only things i leveled up) I hit his tail 3 times with my lage club +15 two-handed strong attack 775 in damage with gold pine resin and no tail for me... then i died. So where are all people to summon??? tried summon people for weeks now with no success

I sat there for 2 hours trying I gave up, and then i went back to the blacksmiths duplicated boss souls upgraded all my shit went back and fucked him up. I feel a lot better now. :)

i was trying to cut that tail for an eternity. Turns out I was attacking it too close to his body. Goddamnit.
It doesn't count as a tail hit if you hit it too near to the base.
if you're fast enough, you can also hit his tail when he sits and throws fire

You need to get the right of kindling from pinwheel in the catacombs, this is to increase the amount of flasks you can hold to a maximum of 20.

My only problem is kalameet actually doing the 2 sit up attacks. mine refuses to do them. 1hr and 15mins of dying waiting on him to do them attacks.
I've done over 2500 damage to its tail and it didnt fall off.
It's just like Marathon battle, heavy armor for running attack.
weapons with vertical hitboxes are all katanas, great swords and some ultra greatswords.

maybe your hitting too close to where the tail meets the body? i had the same problem with seath the scaless

you were hitting the actual body not the tail, aim a bit more towards the quarter part of the tail.

this is an awesome guy tech, everytime i cut it i do it with the great scythe and its easy, it just takes sometime ^^
