Thanks for the playthrough, you are doing some different strategies than I normally use, so it is fun to see how they will work out. I think you moved your cold marker up two spots instead of one in the first weather phase. Also, I believe when it is a +(specific hope/discontent icon) you still draw AND you activate if you draw or already have that hope/discontent token.
That is only true if you are drawing a specific type. For example. If you are to gain Care, you draw one from the bag and then activate Care. But when just generally gaining hope, as he did, you either activate 1 hope of your choice or draw from the bag exhausted.
Oh right. I was thinking about when he enacted heated meals. Good catch. There are a lot of things to remember in this game. And the hope / discontent rules are a bit wonky.
@35:18 if you're instructed to increase a certain type of hope/discontent you first draw a respective token from the bag and then flip (if possible) the specific variety. In this case you could have drawn a new token and still flip the care token you just flipped
Because of the difficulty, the 'survival path' is narrow. The game might as well been on rails. It felt less like a survival game than a chronological puzzle where A had to be done by Day X, etc. Not my idea of fun.
I've been looking forward to this one! This game is a glorious beast and I can't wait to see how your playthrough turns out.

@@kylemeighan1143at 35:24 I believe he is supposed draw care, he activates care but doesn't draw a hope token.
Thanks! Oh no, like I needed to make it any harder 😀

Good playthrough, so many little rules that you need to remember. Sawmill (not upgraded) can only remove trees from the same tile though 🙂
Thanks! Yeah it gets kind of retroactively corrected next time 🙂
Hey there! This is a great video and we are looking forward to the next episode and seeing how this game plays out! 💜
Thank you! Glad you liked it 🙂
Looking forward to Episode 2!

Thanks!
the upgraded sawmill is the only way you can take trees from adjacent tiles
Thanks!
@@slickerdrips no problem, i had to remember a bunch of rules after not playing for 6 months. i have yet to win a game.
Love this game and nice playthrough so far. Note that you are only allowed to play one citizen card per round.
Thanks Kyle!
how many people watching this has won a game? any game, any difficulty, on solo?
i've played 3 dozen games or more, different player counts, different civ choices, and i just can't do it.
ive made it do day 11 a handful of times, but that's it
Looks better than the video game, which I know I'm in the minority for hating.
I don't hate the video game. In fact I like it, but I do actually enjoy the boardgame more.
I enjoyed the video game, my citizens never seem to enjoy my company though 😀

how is possible that u mess with food and u increased food instead of starving? u gave u a +25 bonus food instead that +25 starving ppl!!! 😨😨😨😨
Sorry, I don't know what you mean
29:39 u had to feed 25 food and u flipped the food instad of decrease to 0 and increase the starving to 23.
It was on its +25 side before, I had to spend 25 so I flipped it to the standard side.
