Hi Richard, another enjoyable video. Just to let your subscribers know you can walk completely round thorney island it’s a beautiful walk, but you will have too pass through two camera check points one each side of the island, I have never been refused entry but stay on the coast path. The island was once home to RAF, I be leave it’s now home to the army, it was also used to home Vietnamese boat people Emsworth is a lovely place to visit and was once famous for its oysters and cockles, looking forward to your next border walk
Another amazing episode of the border walk, and another one where I love the places you visit and would love to visit too. Thorney Island sounds very peaceful. Must be amazing to have one of those places where you can look out at the harbour and watch all the little yachts and boats coming in. Great places to walk. The same with Emsworth great peaceful place, great little harbours and marina's. And well done for reaching the Hampshire border Richard great achievement. Looking faward to the next one :)
What a great journey. At 3.20 it looked like you were cycling. 9 minutes in and some great tunes. Then a lovely haunting melody towards the end. Perfect editing. Wonderful scenery and beautiful weather. Enjoy your Northern trip. Thougherly enjoyed all your coastal trips. I've never ventured much near Thorney although I do remember going on road trips as a very young lad when my uncle was based in the RAF there. My aunt use to drop him off and we'd return back to Worthing.
Coots white around the beak, moorhens red and yellow. I always get them confused but today I am spot on, I think! Another great video Richard thanks to you!
I have no problem with you calling your not a car a CAR . It's a vehicle it carries passengers I remember my parents station wagon they called it a car . Your vehicle is a station wagon on steroids ☺️🤷🏼♀️🇨🇦I remember the long train trips we ate in the dining car. Slept in the sleeping car and viewed the scenery from the observation car. One of my favourite train memories was on a short train trip the soldiers in the passenger car entertained us by singing songs I think I was about four years old. I am glad that you have taken us on today's walk a great start to my day.
My mum was married to an RAF bloke during the war, whose family came from Emsworth, I've got photos of mum, probably standing not far from where you were, Richard!
Another interesting exploration. I did wonder if you were on that dead end path when it was so overgrown - but it took you to a nice viewpoint. The skies towards the end were stunning. You certainly prove the old adage that the early bird catches the worm with some great footage.
This is one of the best episodes so far around the Sussex walk. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you walk around my favourite location ......Keep up the excellent work.
It's great that you have so many public foot paths, we have a couple trails near my town in the U.S. but to use them it's best to be armed and not alone. I'm not saying it's dangerous but it's not exactly safe.
You just missed me with my dogs Richard. This is my home, I walk that coastal path every day throughout the year, except at this time I walk just across the road onto another Sussex Border path from Emsworth to Westbourne. I pass by that very spot where you’re standing at the end very early in the mornings. It’s a very pretty place.
@@cathybonner9437 we have lots of houses being built in every gap they can find. Such greed. I remember Burgess Hill, many years ago my godmother lived in Isaac’s Lane, not sure if that’s spelt right.
Isaac's Lane is correct the road that leads to Haywards Heath. I hate all these houses being built, what about our wildlife? No-one seems to care anymore, it makes me so angry
Thanks B.E. Interesting how all those harbour dwellings were elevated. I wonder if they flood now. They have likely planned ahead for the rising sea levels.
Beautiful coastal village with spectacular views. Looks very much like a quaint New England town you would see featured on a postcard. Thanks for showing us Richard.
Lovely walk around Thorney Island into Emsworth. I've not been to that area for ages but I can see where you are, the main road A259 takes you into the A27 to Portsmouth/Southampton.
Great film Richard, I’m really enjoying the boarder walks.I’d love to know what the music is starting at the start of your walk about 2 minutes into the film.
My twin brother and I always watch your videos in the morning and sets us up nicely for the day 👍lovely blue skies and nicely. Are you organising any walks with your viewers soon?
I know it’s technically east Hampshire, but you should really consider going to St Hubert Church and it’s surrounding greenery. It’s just west of Forestside on the Sussex border, and north of Finchdean. One of the most beautiful churches in the most spacious of areas!!
ON THE BORDER (verse 61 of ???) Disused perhaps but Thorney's runways remain in good repair The sole preserve of raucous gulls that land and and take off there An air of mystery that abounds appears to haunt the place While everyday activity yields not the slightest trace JB21
Interestingly Richard, a third Thorney Island verse sent earlier was cancelled by 'the system'. It's reference to secretive Whitehall men must have been too much for it to bear !!
@@jeanblemings5352 Pilsey is delightful. Walking Thorney Island 6 years ago we could see that it can in fact be reached at low tide. Thorney itself is a safe haven for wildlife due to lack of people and so Pilsey is even safer.....
ON THE BORDER (verse 62 of ???) Pilsey is the island place where nature takes its course Untouched by mankind's meddling or heavy handed force A sanctuary where wildlife in harmony exists While man observes things from afar and all intent resists JB21

A lovely stretch of water which you wouldn't know was there. Brilliantly filmed. Congratulations on getting to the Hampshire border
Many thanks!
Beautiful bit of filming and music, suits perfectly the scene. I like the way you place the camera as you get out the van etc.x
Thank you very much!
Spent a bit of time on Thorney over the years, a magical place and pretty unique in it's tranquility.
Thank you for another lovely walk. Enjoyed it so much. I ALWAYS enjoy our walks together. Enjoy your weekend!
Lovely video. Great to see the sunshine again. It really does make all the difference. 🌞😀
Like Sussex border very interested see different places round nice harbour looks walk and good views
Another fantastic video of The Sussex Border Walk - Part Twenty-Four: Thorney Island to Emsworth!.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a treat Richard you got there in the end and gave us a wonderful look at the place with your usual enthusiasm
What a beautiful place! Very peaceful.
Stunning beautiful place. Awe inspiring. Loved that walk thank you.
Magical filming today. Thank you.
Excellent video Richard extremely interesting. Thankyou so much for a fantastic video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very enjoyable. Looking forward to future Surrey/Sussex sections
Excellent video and lovely relaxing music. Keep doing what keeps you the happiest to do Richard

The Sussex coastline looks similar to parts of The coastline here in Nova Scotia and the eastern US seaboard.
Yet another thoroughly enjoyable 19 mins..... so many places I never knew existed to explore xx
So pleased you enjoyed it, Lisa.
Another superb walk; looks like a fantastic part of the world!
Excellent music and pictures thank you.
Thank you Richard for another great video, and what a lovely sunny morning after all the rain which has kept you at home recently.
Excellent, the jewel that is England. Love it.
Very enjoyable, beautiful views and a very nicely presented film. A gentle stroll on a wonderful morning.
Great to see that area again! thanks for sharing. Especially liked the cygnets (apparently pronounced swannets!)
Beautiful place.
Wonderful. Thank you Richard
This week's show was a good. Looking forward to the next installment
Thank you
Great video Richard, thank you
Those “Non Permanent Cabins” have been there since the Marina was Constructed back in the 60’s
Loving the artistic pretending to be a drone shot in the intro… 🤟

That was lovely, plus your first significant milestone of the walk: Hampshire! Only Surrey and Kent to go...
A lovely walk. Some beautiful skies too.
Another great video Richard ,, you heading to my village next ( Westbourne ) checkout the church and the oldest Yew-tree avenue in the country ,,👀
Oooh, that sounds lovely!

Yes there is a clearly marked footpath all around the island on the OS map, it is called the Sussex Border Path!!
