    Very nice alarms! They seemed to be hated on when the announcement first came out, but I actually like them a lot. Maybe even a bit better than the original version. These LED styles look a lot more modern. It’s also interesting about having the panel set the strobe candela.

    Nice video! To be honest, I acually do kinda like the design of the led strobes on these alarms. They are quite sleek looking. I just like the design of the xenon strobes more. Mainly comparing the wall mount ones. They look more sleeker IMO. But for what its worth, they are still really nice. And I do like how they look just like a xenon strobe when they flash. (Totally referring to the wheelock LED exceeder)

  • @the_1drummajor

    I foresee that in the more distant future that a device that can support amber/white/blue LED strobe in one device will be a thing, as well as having the audio components support both low frequency, 3k, and some kind of standard 1k tone in various different patterns. Possibly a compact speaker strobe or something. Also, albeit not common now, I can see that addressable and intelligent NA will become a future reality (which could be useful for pinning down a troubled device instead of hunting a device down in a sea of devices within a given circuit). I am curious to see what the future holds but I can say that these devices will become more simpler to deal/manage/maintain with than before.

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  6 місяців тому

      The whole device is thicker that would likely decrease strobe output this now allows for 360° of strobe coverage the device is superior over the xenon strobe it replaces you have to remember fire alarms are a safety product that is what's important not the aesthetic look

  • @HenBasketFireAlarms
    @HenBasketFireAlarms 6 місяців тому

    Nice video. What you said about enthusiasts hating on the design is quite true. When Wheelock first released the Eluxa, I hated on it but don’t mind it now.
    I originally thought these were gonna have something similar to Wheelock’s solution, having a separate selection for T3 and T3/T4 with T3/T4 being chosen via muted/unmuted sync signal. However, now I think given the FCP setting, that Honeywell will release some sort of wired addressable mounting base (and update SWIFT bases) that will send the T3/T4 and candela information to the alarm.
    Although, I do wonder what would happen if you powered the alarm using a silenced sync signal. My guess is it will only flash, but who knows?

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  6 місяців тому

      Yes something definitely will be released I did try these on sync mute/audible silence in this video if that's what you mean and they do perform the same as previous models

      People didn't like the xenon L-series when they first came out either. The problem is people seem to forget that these are a life safety device their primary function is to be effective at signalling a fire alarm. Being aesthetically pleasing is not a priority and functionally these offer much more than what they are replacing. As far as I'm concerned that is the main reason for in my opinion good redesign.

  • @XboxMinion24
    @XboxMinion24 6 місяців тому

    Yeah, I see what you’re saying about the System Sensor LED L-Series, I don’t like them because the strobes flash pretty short like the other fire alarm strobe does and they could be loud.
    Instead of saying the LED L-Series, I would only say the LED Series. But I see that they replaced them and it looks cool though.
    So I like the L-Series better just like I had one.

      @@djbryce they are definitely very similar the strobe is centred in the ceiling device however not on the wall so that may be a difference but it's hard to tell until I open them up

      I wasn't a huge fan of the design at first myself however seeing them in person they are fine in fact the ceiling mount one looks better than the older generation. If you like them or don't like them we will be seeing them all over as they will replace previous generations. functionally it is a much better product which is the main concern.
