    The engineers and technicians actually signing off on each and everyone of these microphones is a very nice touch. They’re truly beautiful mics.
    Also, the commentary and editing were excellent for what was effectively a short documentary.

    Я несколько песен записал на этот микрофон. 017 tube отличный звук. А красота то какая! Флакон дорогих духов а не микрофон! 😍 процветания вашей компании!

    Thanks for this video series! Amazing info. Serious attention to detail and expertise goes into these microphones. Hand built parts as well. Even including gold sputtering of the capsules by some crazy machine. Then the capsule is hand built. This is some beautiful craftsman/ woman ship!!!!!🔥☑️💪❤️

    Thank you James for really nice video, yeah entire process looks really neat. Shape of this logo reminds me Telefunken warm microphones unfortunately this type of mic is really expensive.This one in particular SU-017 costs £3000 pounds.

    I'm not so convinced about the way components are soldered on PCB.
    For the rest, great crafting.
    The owner was at my Studio in January this year ... and he made me test their mics. I can say: GREAT! You need to have in your studio as well.

    I trust that during proper production i.e.away from the cameras, they wear gloves, afterall it is a clean room.

    Seriously.... 3999$ USD
    I don't get the benefit to pay more than 1000$ for a mic.
    Do anybody in the world would feel the difference, especially after digital IQ?
    And... you can sell it for half the price if you get faster working staff (of course, after proper training).

    • @Rgdonaire_07
      @Rgdonaire_07 3 роки тому

      Many people working in audio would notice the difference. Tube mics are in a much higher price bracket if you do some research. Within that price bracket, this is actually not the most expensive option. This mic is on a similar league as a Neumann u47 which is 2 or e times more expensive. Yes you can make recordings with a cheap usb mic, but then you have to process he crap out of them to make it sound decent introducing a lot of artifacts. A good mic makes the mixing job easier. For a professional studio time matters. And if you can’t afford it don’t complaint, there will still be a business for high end audio gear wether you understand it or not.

      @@Rgdonaire_07 I was not comparing a 4000$ vs a cheap USB mic. I was comparing a PRO 1000$ xlr mic Vs a 4000$ mic or a 8000$ mic.
      99.999% of people who buy the music will not make any difference between the 3 PRO options above. Do you agree on that?
      The main advantage for a studio to get a 4000-8000$ mic (vs a 1000$ mic) is more on marketing/reputation when the musician compare with other studio.
      Then, people always like to get the best of the best, even if they cannot/barely feel the difference. This is emotional, not rational.

    • @Rgdonaire_07
      @Rgdonaire_07 3 роки тому +1

      @@alexandrevaliquette1941 average listener will not notice that’s a fact. And I understand where you’re coming from with emotional vs rational and studio recognition.
      I can hear a difference between a 4k€ mic and a 1000€ mic, surely many people with trained ears will too. But it’s well known that on high end audio gear, the price increments do not correlate to objective improvements in audio recording quality. It’s the law of diminishing returns. Having said this, I still think these microphones are genuinely expensive in manufacturing and components and in the long run they pay for themselves many times over: less time processing recordings = money, more customers coming to your studio, etc. In the end I will never convince you that a u47 is worth the money, and that’s ok. You’re entitled to your opinion.

      @@Rgdonaire_07 What mic people used in the 1960? Probably crap for todays standard. Nobody complain at that time.
      I can't argue that theses mic (in this video) are not a fair cost for what they are.
      I just think that today's studio standard are too high vs the expectation/real requirement of the street customer who buy the music.
