When I was a teenager and was sick of horny boys hitting on me I thought that once I got to my 20's men would be more charming, respectful and romantic (the way Luther is describing in this song) and now that I'm 27 I'm realizing that maybe I was wrong. Everything now is about what's the most they can get for the least amount of effort, and you can even hear it in a lot of the mainstream music now.
