Anthrax is awesome!! I saw them in KC at the Midland and I was walking along the side where bands could enter the venue. I was going to take a picture of their tour bus since I saw it when I was looking for the parking garage. I saw Joey walking towards me and I had a debate whether I should stop and ask for a picture with him. I decided to ask and Joey said Yes let’s make it quick. We take the selfie and the picture I got was of him pulling this funny face. It’s awesome. I have an iPhone and it plays a live version of picture and at first it’s his regular face and then he pulls the face of my picture. I smile every time I look at it. He could’ve said no and I would’ve been bummed but he said yes and I hold him and the band in my heart that much more. Thanks Joey. I appreciate it. You guys are awesome. Keep on bringing the albums.
I've loved Anthrax since I was in junior high in 1987. Among the Living got me started and it's still easily my favorite album of theirs. The riff to me that doesn't get enough love or even attention is "Imitation of Life". Once on Headbanger's Ball the guys were hosting and just goofing around and busted out that riff and holy cow it became one of my favorites and has remained one ever since.
Hell yeah. Anthrax rules. They did a album signing at a tower records in Southern California for persistence of time. I believe it was. It was so cool.
Steve, Geddy and Geezer will always be some of the GOATs (Also hearing Geddy especially made me happy because he's a big reason I took bass more seriously while in high school, and plus I'm also from Toronto so Rush are hometown heroes for us lol)
I think most people say this, but when you eventually get bored of the discography of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Exodus, Overkill, Testament etc. (not to mention all the German thrash bands Sodom, Kreator, Destruction) you’d be surprised how good Anthrax is in the context of looking for more of that sound. Spreading The Disease and Among The Living hold up to any 80s Thrash album, and go well in a Thrash playlist (can’t lift heavy iron without listening to heavy metal 🤘).
@@ThinWhiteLuke I don’t say it because yeah, I tried them out a lot and there music never got to me how for example Sodom did so yeah but I never said that I don’t like them or I think there boring, they just haven’t got to me yet but maybe one day
Charlie absolutely killed me with Among the Living.... I have been a fan since the Armed and Dangerous EP. He influenced my drumming so much. Out of the drummers of the big 4 Charlie is my dude. The Efilnikufesin VHS, was the shiznit for me! Anthrax at that time was hard to beat. Frank, Scott, Joey and a magician of keys and solos Dan Sptiz.. miss that dude too. Don't get me wrong.. I love John Bush.. but with Armored Saint! Delirious Nomad is in my top 10 all time list.
For the "Clash of the Titans" tour, they were supporting the "Persistence of Time" album. It was Anthrax at its peak. They had a week long segment on the local news station. Alerting the public to the level of complete insanity that went on at Alpine Valley Music Theater, on any given weekend then. We could be clearly seen stomping, smashing, and then rolling over a full size Ford LTD 4 door sedan. Somehow it managed to burn. The reason we did it? It was a Ford. The whole point of the news coverage, was to get the situation under control by petitioning for the ban of any overnight camping. And severely limiting the hours the parking lots are open. That concert was the final nail in the coffin. I have to admit we were a bit out of control. The good old days.
I love watching these sit downs but I gotta say that they should definitely work on audio for the guitar. The Bass sounds awesome but the guitar is a very tinny sounding kind of a yuck and we all know that Scott Ian has a monster sound. I can get a better sound out of a 35 dollar 5 watt yard sale amp than what is heard here.
Frank Bello is the man
He's such a chilled out dude. He and Gary Holt are the guys that dispelled the "Never Meet Your Heroes" myth for me
@@samswales9280 Scott & Charlie, on the other hand...

Love seeing the guys talking about their heroes!
Dude, I'm seeing them in 2 months, can't wait!
Phenominal talent in each of these gentlemen. Collectively they are amazing. Great episode. Love hearing about other musicians' influences.

Mr Bello so underrated

Dope Band. Great Guys pretty much down to Earth. Live absolutely advisable
I ❤ them
Thank you very much GOD bless always Philadelphia USA 🇺🇸
I remember stage diving and moshing great memories
Frank has the best influences

Scott Ian kicks so much ass.
Charlie!!!! Only Guitar solo on SOD debut
Dude these guys never age.
Hell yeah thank you loud wire
Love these guys. 🤘
Among The Living is the heaviest Thrash album ever! Only saw them once- Clash of the Titans, 1991. They blew everyone else away
Anthrax is the 🐐
Never was a huge fan of Anthrax but I always respected them and ngl Got the time is a great song

I am the same they are OK, but I think testament should of been on big 4 instead of them.
@@joshhellstorm184 I agree with you, and I think Exodus should be in the big 4 or in the big 5 if Testament was in the big 4
Awesome!

Fuckin love Anthrax
Their mustic is the best AND they're the coolest guys too 🤩
Scott Ian in Anthrax, SOD and Mr Bungle. Almost as insane as Larry in Possessed and Primus. \m/
His bass looks beautiful.
Frankie Bello - top man. 👌

God Bless you Charlie Benante 😂
Charlie so fuckin awesome
I think Frank Bello is the core of Anthrax. Their songs would be so generic without his great Pbass tones.
Frank B is now a Spector endorser!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Real
Featuring over 9 seconds of actual riff playing
💚🤘
what is the Iron Maiden song the bass player plays
Killers
What was this for? Are they practicing for touring? Are they recording?
wise not to use a whammy bar if you want to do the windmill
If only this could be a paid tv show, i'd pay to watch these epsoides
Even though your now watching them for free? What a muppet.

Dang. I guess Dan is out again. Lol
nice repost
I don’t believe in god but I believe in god given talent? 😂😂 kindergarten thrash band .
These are really old
Irrelevant band
I don't believe in God, but I believe in God given talents. Total clown.
Right? You acknowledge that God gave you that talent...anyways...
Anthrax……joke band. Not serious. Absolute spoof band🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
