@@Tattlebot No one is saying DCS is flawless. It’s far from it. However DCS first and foremost is a air combat simulator so more focus should be put on that aspect. But progress is being made just look at the new technicals and other ground elements. I’m sure it’ll come in due time
the main reason this is so cool (and it is very cool) is the added sound effects and background chatter, I really hope some form of ambient noise is included with the update, it really brings the ship to life.
I've been using DCS for years now and this has to be the hardest I've ever been fooled. The realism is seriously becoming indistinguishable at this point. What a time to be alive.
@@kamraam1464 Ahh, gotcha, that makes sense - I'd agree 100%. Was worried there was somehow a more realistic air combat sim out there I was missing out on! :P

The lighting is spot on, team! Ohh, just gorgeous...pitching deck too, love it! Can't wait to see these animations first hand, they look really realistic.
Love the PA system playing on the deck. PLease add this function to the mission editor. having the ability to add custom ambient sounds on the carrier or air base would be amazing!!!
@@EagleDynamicsTV I’m not sure what has gotten into you guys lately but keep it up! This update is amazing and it seems like you guys are more responsive and receptive to the community than ever! Really excited about this year. My wife having to deal with me spending even more time in DCS… not so much 😂😂
My daughter is 4 and she loves to hold the VR goggles on her face while I manage the controls and fly her around all the environments and weather conditions the Eagle Dynamics team has given us! I think back to the sims we thought were cutting edge technology compared to what we have now. Also to what the ED team will have for us in the future when my daughter is big enough for the VR goggles to fit her
I did the same when my daughter was younger, we have come along way with simulations, can't imagine where we will be in 10 years time. Thanks. -NineLine/Norm
I spent 4 years on the flight deck of the Theodore Roosevelt from 86 to 90. The realism here is staggering. Not many things give me chills, this did. One of the observation weather decks is on the island, about half way up (level 14 if I remember) is where we watched night ops. That yellowish light, all the colored batons, it all looked just like this. At that time we had 2 squadrons of Tomcats and 2 of the Hornets. The best time to watch was when we first went to sea. All the airwing had to go thru carrier quals. Shake off rust and for some it was their first real deployment. You would see many bolters and many shaky approaches. But you also saw every aircraft in action. The S-3 Vikings, the E-2 Hawkeyes, the Intruders and the helos. Fond memories indeed
I would kill for a co op vr experience where you are a shooter on one of these carriers. Flying is fun of course, but there's something very cool about guiding these machines round the deck.
Seriously just amazing. The new skeletal animation is so good it looks like real video. The lighting, the shadow treatment, even movement of the deck crews clothing.... all just fantastic. Like being there. Thank you.
This is a type of game that reached all the big things so the little things are what matter much more these sound effects radio chatter etc. make it feel so much more alive its almost makes it feel like a different game
I remember playing Jet Fighter III with a VHS of Top Gun playing in the background- wishing I could do/see more. I wanted ALL of the details. Every. Little. Bit. You've no clue how much I enjoy DCS. Thank you so much. It's literally a dream come true for me- and I'll continue to support you and your team by picking up all the modules, just to continue living that dream. I've been with you guys since the very first A-10 & Black Shark launch.
And I was impressed by Janes FA-18 back in the day, imagining that something like DCS carrier operations was ever going to be possible. I'm really glad to have ben around for the ride and a proud supporter and aviator in the DCS world!
All I can say is wow. At the .50 sec mark it looked real. Amazing stuff. 👍🏽👏. This is a great time to be a flight sim enthusiast. in my 25 years of flight simming I always hoped but never thought it was possible. Good job ED for making our dreams come true.
I would so love if things like this kept getting uploaded every now and again, official stuff, but not with dialogue, just neat little cinematic scenes where content can be showcased!
I would like to say, that after 20 years in the Navy, 6 squadrons, and years out to sea, this is extremely close to what it's like, there is a few things that only someone that has been on the deck would pick up, with that said, WoW!!! great Job,..,........Fly Navy!!!!
It's becoming more and more realistic and cool with each update! One thing that I noted tho, is that when the catapult officer (Shooter) points his hands and gives the shooting signal, the plane is shooted 1 sec later every time. whereas in reality, there is some random delay (never the same). it would be very cool to implement this random delay in the upcoming updates. Having a plane captain giving signals during the startup procedure or yellow shirts guiding you around the deck to park and taxi would be a very cool addition too.
This made me reminisce about my days when I served onboard the CVN-73 as a plane captain with the VAW-121 Bluetails (1996). Man they captured the essence of night ops beautifully!!!!
You, guys, would not believe it... I have shown this video to my wife and the first thing she said was: "I was on this carrier". (number 71 Theodore Roosevelt).
It's shocking how far this project has come in 10 years. Please always remember to maintain with your teams the core ethos of quality over quantity as you move forward and maintaining the roots of a true to life simulator. Do this for another ten years and I can only imagine what it will be like.
One of my first games I bought was carrier operations for FS2002 and thought it was the one realistic thing I'd ever seen in regards to a simulation aircraft carrier but this looks incredible!
Incredible lighting there, looks very close to the real thing, my mind got tricked even knowing it was in game footage, great work here guys, now i can't help but expect ground crews for other places in the future with this quality, plus even infantry soldiers and squadrons in combat, advancing through a city block could feel more natural and immersive with such animation quality.
It looks amazing... I've only been playing it for a few months and it's a gem... I've never felt so enchanted by something as with DCS...!! See you up there!!!
I just look back and think of how lucky we are to have something like DCS for us aviation nerds. Thank you ED
