Phantom Muspah - BowFa only, step back method (no kiting, no stamina pots, no mage switch)

Method:
Muspah attacks every 5 ticks in his melee form. If he moves during the attack, and you pray melee, you take 0 damage. By counting ticks and moving away at the right time I am able to avoid all melee damage without running/kiting.
Watch the tick metronome on the bottom of the screen.
I count 1 as I see the hitsplat from muspah, and click away at 3, then on muspah at 4, so it's 1 (hitsplat), 2, 3 (click away), 4 (click muspah), then wait for next attack.
If using bowfa, move 2 tiles away, if using t-bow or crossbow move 1 tile away, to avoid losing ticks.
Gear:
BowFa + full crystal, assembler, anguish, zammy d'hide boots, barrows gloves, archer's ring (i), sapphire bolts (e).
Inventory:
Rcb (for prayer shield phase), 1 ranging pot, 7-8 prayer pots, some house tabs, rest is sharks.

if you just step back after the hitsplat on your character goes away it works every time. Much easier than trying to count ticks.

The hitsplat goes away after just under 2 ticks, so if you click at the exact time you might walk too early, you can just wait a fraction of a second and then click. Good tip!

You can use thralls as well for some guaranteed damage to bring average kill time down :)

I'm more curious how each of your attacks hit... I'm at 93 (before boost) ranged and I'm doing 6 minute kills..

I have 99 ranged before pots and still get 5+ minutes kills a lot

That specific one was a pb for me with just a little over 2 minuteshad great rng. In general it takes me around 3 minutes to kill on average, maybe more, depending on damage and on sapphire bolt spec during prayer shield phase.

@@AdoNir After getting better at this method, I got my average down to around 3:30. Thanks for the guide. Was very helpful. I gave up on Muspah around 200kc lol. Wildy bosses have been my go to lately.

Why are you using RCB instead of Bowfa with smite? Just curious so I know when I do this

The main reason is I have sapphire bolts (e) which drain prayer when the spec is activated, that is usually about half of muspah’s shield.
The other reason is the attack speed - muspah has a 5 tick attack cycle in the final form, bowfa has a 4 tick attack speed on rapid, and rcb has a 5 tick attack cycle. Having the same attack speed as muspah helps with perfect timing the smite and protection prayers. T bow doesn’t have that problem since it has a 5 tick cycle on rapid and it syncs perfectly with muspah.

Acb is better because the spec doubles the chance of activating the sapphire bolts effect.

I get the mechanics really easily but my kills are still over 3 minutes. Sometimes 5. 1-2 kills a trip. My bowfa just constantly hits 0’s like I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong.

If you have the Duke tele unlocked it's pretty nice to run in, bgs spec, and tele to poh if you don't land a good one. It makes a noticable difference

The melee form has higher ranged defense. It’s going to be slower than going in with a proper magic switch. The point of bowfa only is for a more chill grind with the cost of longer kills.

The 4 tiles in the middle are not important, that’s just where muspah spawns in the prayer shield and final phase. The red tile I believe is in the tile marker plugin, called something like “muspah safespot”, I’ll copy it here once I get home.
