sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
A lovely and loving tribute to Libby and Monty--both fascinating people, and neither one could bit into the "boxes" often dictated by society. Sexuality isn't black or white, and many people put everything not 100% hetero into the "gay" catagory. None of us will never know for sure about Monty, but I suspect he was bisexual, although toward the end sexually active mainly with men. That wouldn't make him less bi though. I could discuss this all day... Thanks for sharing!
Bisexual and gay are two different things, I'm well aware of that. Like I said before, the interviews I saw were with his twin sister and his brother who said he was gay. A little shocking to me because I always heard people say he was bisexual. So maybe their stories have changed throughout the years. Who knows. Only Montgomery knows who he was. Whatever his sexuality, it doesn't take away the fact that he was a truly a talented actor and highly underrated in my opinion.
Libby once roomed with Georgia Neece Grey, the first female Secretary of the Treasury. That was the first American woman who ever had her name on money! I heard her pianist had her hum and wrote her songs within her range.
But he also did talk about living with a wife and kids when he bought his Manhattan home. I have visited the place and it was a spiritual experience indeed. It did seem he had some unfinished dreams and that was one...Maybe that happened because he was confused about his orientation and yes, as some people said here it was a relative thing for him. It's not that easy to lead life in the public eye.
Someone wise was probably right while making a qoute about how it would have been better if this sensitive man had not come to Hollywood. But platonic relationships do exist even among non celebs. The ones who get in real life that are lucky in a way. I am female and I always admired Ms Audrey Hepburn. I like Natalie Portman, Jordana Brewster, Jessica Alba and that type of women terribly. But in a platonic way:)
@ladyvee7110, This discussion happened over two years ago. Still would like to chip in something. I heard that at the outset Monty Clift was bisexual but later on in life he turned exclusively gay. Guess that happened sometime in the 50s. I also read somewhere that he said he loved women but liked men the other way. Most of his relationships later on his life with women were platonic. He was devoted to women such as Liz Taylor. They shared a special bond & hope share the same now in Heaven.
The first husband wasn't gay but impotent that's why he was suspicious of the paternity of her son. This led to the infamous murder, suicide, or accident(the circumstances are still not clear) that followed their argument about her pregnancy.
..guessing about his life, career, sexuality... He wasnt a fan of putting people in a box...He said people are a lot of things...he was an artist and believed that everything is relatively... But, I think the facts are showing he was gay. But who cares, it doesnt matter, nevermind...that is just my opinion
Wonderful song - Thank God Clift had this relationship with Libby. It caused him to turn down the lead Sunset Boulevard - he didn't want to play a part so close to his real life, so Billy Wilder got William Holden instead - which revived his career.
May I ask you to please try and keep your comments respectful or else they will be removed. Smith Reynolds fathered a daughter with his first wife, Anne Cannon, about 3 years before he married Libby Holman - so it is both highly improbable that he was gay or permanently impotent. There also nothing to support the fact that his second child, with Holman, wasn't his...
Holman's testimony about Reynolds' behavior was absurd and the coroner's jury and the grand jury didn't buy it. At Reynold's age the problem is getting it down, not getting it up. Her testimony that he was in despair about impotence is implausible.
Wrong nothing. Get your facts straight. You act as if you knew Smith Reynolds personally. Were you his lover? Possibly, you would've found out that he was impotent and straight. Oh yeah, you weren't born yet. Reynolds pursued Ms. Holman for years until she finally agreed to marry him not the other way around. Again, get your facts straight or possibly read a few biographies on Libby Holman like I did instead of depending on your imagination or other fictional accounts of these events.

Her testimony that he was in despair about impotence is implausible. She portrayed him as such a nut that that the only sensible explanation for the marriage was his money.
I will always remember you, your movies, your look.
Love the music, liked the man ... artistry at their best.
monty is one of the most underated actors

He was a major movie star, but wasn’t the same after the car wreck.
*underrated
Magnificent music here.

There's only one actor I can think of, who, bears a strong resemblance to and captures the essence and mystique of Montgomery Clift...Mark Harmon.

Todo un galas que ojazos Monty Clif, siempre te recordaré mis ojos grises, mi delgaducho 👍🕊🇪🇦💫👋

MONTGOMERY ERA UN CHURRO, GUAPISIMO.

You do know Montgomery Clift was gay right? Even his brother and twin sister said so in separate interviews. Sorry that you don't know this.
It's kinda sad how you can really tell from the pictures pre and post accident M. Cliff

"Could have," not "could of". Or, to really be correct, "could've".
Rafael Storm . could of , would of , should of but didn't.
So the idea here was not to feature the song or the singer but to give a platform to a discussion of sexuality. Mm... I'll pass.
