Clean the tiles with vinegar! The spots are calcium, it will dissolve in vinegar or anything acid. Please don't use the iron brushes, they will damage the coating on your tiles. Also, for a next project, don't wait to long. You can start cleaning one hour after grouting your tiles. Love your projects btw, many respect for you just trying it all out. I work the same, have built many projects by just trying and educating myself using UA-cam videos :)

Maya, you should try to mix vinegar with warm water which will help with the grout haze. I also used to dry them with a clean cloth right away to avoid staining from the water which will get murky after a while.

Maya jour drains will even look much better if you use a couple of 45° piece to line them out straigth against the wall. The last roof being angle in the wrong direction down you can follow the roof line and just make the drain on the other side and feed it back underground or covering it up.. Making them straigth against the wall really will make you happy because it will look like a pro job making it visually look even more beautiful..

happy for you 😁😁 Durban SA 🇿🇦

The gutters look great, managing water is the never ending task of home ownership. I watched in horror as you left the grout on the tiles to dry. My last (and really only) tile project I was a bit too casual getting the grout off the tiles quickly, and spent hours scrubbing to get it off. Maybe some sort of acid solution could clean it off?

Hello Maya, your 🏠 is getting more beautiful every day (just a suggestion). You can collect some stones in your region and glue them to the back wall of your house. In addition to helping to waterproof the wall, it would also give it a charming rustic look ❤🇵🇹

Run the upper root downspout straight into the lower roof gutter. Offset the lower roof downspout to align better with the in-ground connection. Start earlier, use a bigger sponge, change the water often, when wiping the excess tile grouting. For the upper driveway drain: dig a deeper trench as trucks drive over, lay a french drain perforated pipe, wrap a protective layer over the pipe and cover with gravel, refill trench and compact.

I was looking into trenches and found someone who did it with a pipe with drilled holes at top and side. The pipe then was wrapped in the following layers: gravel and around that some qater permeable fabric for that purpose. So when the water goes into the trench it permeates through the earth first, then through the fabric, then through the stine drainage and through the drilled holes into the the pipe. Can also be used to direct water away from houses. Your experiences in building will be priceless and useful for a lifetime!

We were in the algarve first two weeks of October. Never ever saw rain in Portugal before (been there more than 10 times), but we got absolutely drenched for the last three days of our trip. The garden erupted in beautiful green colours even that late in the summer. One of the locals told me “It doesn’t rain often, but when it does you know about it!”..

Geil! Schön Dich stolz und glücklich zu sehen! Konnte Deine positive Energie in Bremen spüren!
