I’m here because of Buckin’ Billy and my longtime interest in the mechanical aspect of internal combustion. I have a couple of saws that I use for firewood gathering. An old 261 is a bit tired, so I’m going to experiment changing it to a 272 as a backup saw to my 372XP 24” with Buckin’s file techniques done on the chain. Piñon fear it (I’m Nevada).
Another hitchhiker story you might enjoy. A guy stops to pickup a hitchhiker. As they are riding along, the hitchhiker says, “Nice of you to stop. I guess you aren’t worried about the possibility of me being a serial killer.” The driver says, “What are the chances of two serial killers being in the same vehicle.”
    Thanks for sharing your expertise.

I use the same pistons. They work well and you won't burn them up either. There is timing on the intake skirt. If you stay around 0.030 you will be ok. If you remove the cylinder base gasket that's 0.020, so only take 0.010 off the skirt. If you go over then ya gotta use a degree wheel to time it. Great videos, I like this shit!

Nice I hope to be riding dirtbikes this weekend to, I haven't been out this year at all. I just picked up another 81 pe 250 that's running real rich for some reason. And have to get the forks re-sealed on my 14' 450 Honda. I actually need to do work on all my bikes, But that's the two bikes I want to run this weekend. when a guy owns to much crap its hard to maintain it all. I'm sure you know what that's all about. Alot of people seem to talk crap about wiesco pistons, but that is all I run in my bikes and have never had an issue. Snowmobiles on the other hand well that is a different story. Hey been catching up on all your videos what's you take on single ring and double ring pistons I had a 70 yz 100 bike has single ring hard to find piston before Ebay but my bike shop had a rm 100 double ring piston that matched pin to tdc height and my bore just had to trim the skirt and seemed like it lasted forever that's the last time I had to go in that motor did the crank at same time it wont cheap do you mess with rod main bearings on these like bikes😁 keep up the good videos

Just saying but the YZ didn't come out until 74....we had a 72 rt100 which was the first year with the reed induction. That bike was highly ported piped and modified for flat track racing in the early to mid 70's. My last Yamaha Enduro was a 71 dt250....no reeds.

Might have been mid 70s it had the nice aluminum tank bored it out new rod on the crank then couldn't find the piston before Ebay was around fun little bike then I got the 84 kx 250 then there was no turning back

@@pdaddyblake yes I think the 74 and possibly 75 had aluminum tanks....and that was because Honda had just released the elsinore 125s and 250s with aluminum tanks

Love the channel Harvey! I love everything power saw. I am likin' the stories you have to tell as well. I have a woods ported 372XP non X-torq. Would I benefit from installing a Dominant piston? I have a Dominant muffler on it now. Thanks for all your work and taking the time to explain things! Peace.

Yes you would! You gain compression and exaust duration! And a little intake timing! Even unported it's a noticeable gain!
