4K Duke Nukem Forever 2001. Most AMBITIOUS FPS I've Played
Вставка

- From what I have played, then this would definitely of been up there with the top titles of 2001 if they finished it. The level of detail that's been put into the level design is truly an Art Work. Soon this will be Mod Of The Year!! DNF link www.moddb.com/...
Gianni Matragrano is killing it as the Duke. Total top tier stand in for Jon St. John
No. He’s actually really bad.
hes awful wtf are you talking about an ai voice would be better
If this actually turns into a full game, I will be sooo happy..
It should be done by next year or so as the engine was 90% complete, either way they'll definitely be updates from the Development Group
@@ADreamPC Awesome!!
@@ADreamPC The leak has many long chapters and this is just one of them, I doubt it. The 2002 build was apparently 80-90% complete so maybe if that build leaks and they continue there we might see it done a few months later
@@CallOfEuropeanSpirit Were you trying to reply to the other person? Because I was trying to say the same thing
@@ADreamPC "It should be done by next year" Not a single way
I love the tone that's been achieved here. It feels like Escape from New York or They Live, dark but still corny and tongue-in-cheek. This rocks!
That's how Duke 3D felt!
how is dnf01 corny?
@@sebaprime6411 I mean, just in this video Duke is throwing around action-movie lines, there's a Max Headroom easter egg, it played 60s Batman music as Duke slid down a fire pole, and he took a leak on an enemy corpse. All of that's pretty corny, but I'm not saying that it's a bad thing. The corniness is one of the things I like about it.
If this was released around 2001 or 2002 I seriously think it would have dethroned Half-Life at the time: it's basically the game everyone was expecting to be after what DN3D was. Hopefully the Restoration Project will let us enjoy it at least closer to what was intended.
I agree too.. big foot productions are finishing this now. Hopefully more news on this next year or so. But it's definitely worth a blast, even the demo.
If only George Broussard hadn’t fallen victim to Shiny Object Syndrome
Mix between Unreal, Deus Ex and Postal haha.. great i hope this bad boy gets finished to have another classic from that era!
Gearbox with DNF: We have developed most ambitious FPS ever!
GSC with STALKER: Hold my horilka.
This game clearly aged really well for 2001! I wish the full version can be finished and released on Xbox as a download.

😂
Duke: I like to keep this for close encounters and I just encountered “ Your Face”
Dude this is coming together nicely. Really impressed with all the mod team have accomplished thus far. Did Brandon Blume do all of the music for this or just the theme because the BGM in the ladykiller is pretty damn slick
Yeah a very ambitious game. I'm unsure about the music but I'd imagine the files that were left would of been kept. Big foot productions did ask the original developers if they would join, aswell as John st John but it was in breach of their contract since it was officially cancelled in 2001.. Big foot productions are currently piecing this together with another voice actor called Gianni Matragrano. The work they have done so far is amazing. I think within a year or just over they should have this ready.
Brandon did all of the music except for those present in the leak
wish they had released this back then! wanted it so bad! Graphics still look good to me!
This is shocking how much this is like the game I wanted to play. Almost like a deus ex light. It's already impressive what I'm seeing and now am even slightly angrier that THIS is the kind of game we could've had instead of the game we got. I didn't think the 2011 version was as bad as it was reviewed but it was nowhere near what we all wanted it to be.
I hope they make this the 10/10 game from 2001 we always wanted it to be.
Thank you for sharing this and explaining everything
You welcome 👍🏽 I also have another map which is set in Las Vegas strip. Some sections are not complete, so I'm gonna do sections that are working in the map. Most of it was used in the 2001 trailer such as the gun turret section and dukes motor bike. The level of detail is impressive, so I'll do a compilation of what worked 👍🏽
There 30 min alone feels much MUCH better than the version we got
I know which is why I'm excited for this version. Since this old unreal version was finished 80% in 2001 I'm sure they'll be more news next year or more levels to check from Big Foot Productions who are working on it now. "Always bet on duke" 💪😎
5:13 I'm glad to see Duke being an actual hero
This looks pretty cool.
I love this style of graphics, good old days, guys !!! Unreal Engine is one of the great engine ( I dont like 4 and 5 to modern for me) 2 and even 3 in old styl is cool.
I would play the fuck out this in the year 2024
The life and times of duke nukem forvever.
It is 1996: We are making a bigger, badder, faster DUKE!
1997, half life comes out: .....I like puzzles lets add puzzles.
1998, unreal comes out: hey audio logs and fast paced combat, doit
2001, System shock 2 is birthed: I want those vending machines I want those robots I WANT THOSE TENTACLES AND FLESH!
2002, halo is born: ....Use as much as you can from this, all this here, ALL THIS you use it.
2004, doom 3 is released: I WANT THOSE SHADOWS AND LEVELS. MAKE ME THOSE SHADOWS AND LEVELS!
It was by this point Duke realised he was not himself anymore...... he took off his shades and all that stood their, was a 7ft tall green space marine, with a beard and goatee, pony tail, a flac cannon, a demon creeping up behind him with a very "oh HELLO" look on its face and a laughing, cackling AI at what he's become.............................
Pretty much nailed it there. I remember seeing its trailer back in the day and prepared my Windows XP build, only for it to never release. I read years later about Broussard and its never ending development. He took it way too serious that it had to surpass every game aswell as be on the latest engine.
Still I had fun with some awesome titles like Soldier of fortune, Max payne and the AvP series and wolfenstein. 2001 and the early 2000's were an awesome era. Better than today's Triple A titles. We lucky if we get a demo lol.
This gives me cool retro RtCW vibes
2000s were the best Era for me. Most innovative era for Fps. I still play Rtcw. There's a few uploads in my playlist 😎
This game would be superior than Half Life, Doom and Serious Sam if it was released in 2001.
Yeah your right aswell as the Return to castle Wolfenstein. 2001 was a great year for top title's. But this would of blew my mind if it released
Wow cool! And it runs on a modified version of the Unreal engine.
Yeah I bought my new XP build in 2001 for this game. This would of destroyed my GeForce 2 if it released lol.. luckily we got gta3 and Max Payne with other great titles like the Avp series.. so still a great year!
Wow.. I have been playing Serious Duke 3D (Serious Sam Fusion 2017 mod).. but this looks amazeballs. Is this downloadable somewhere?? the internal levels remind me a little of FEAR (the original first one).. I love the interior level design on that.
yeah infact from what I noticed with sounds and weapons layout, aswell as glass physics.... Raven software took note of this for their Soldier of Fortune 2 in 2002.
@@ADreamPC Yeah it looks great... Reminds me of several over games I love but the FEAR vibes are biggest for me. Thanks man. Checking that out now!
they should have just released this I don't know why they were so worried about releasing the game with the most highest graohics available when this alone was probably the best looking game in 2001 lol
It's a shame that 3dRealms has thrown this project away. Nothing explains it.
I think If this was released in 2001 it would of been the benchmark test of its time. The detail and physics in this were amazing for 2001. But Broussard kept swapping out the engine, which in the end resulted in people leaving and all the work going to scrap. Luckily most of this was saved and picked up by another development team (Big Foot Productions) who are working on piecing this together.
It's a pretty easy explanation actually. Broussard is a massive idiot and denies responsibility for his horrible decision-making to this day. He threw away what would have been one of the most impressive FPSes of that era, had it released, in favor of "uhh well someone made a cooler engine so let's remake the whole game in that"
Not bad at all. I'd buy it if they released the full version. It looks a bit like Half-Life at some points, but very cool in its own way.
hopefully they'll be more news on this next year on how development is going. You're right how some areas look a like. Broussard took alot of inspiration when doing this 2001 version. Unfortunately the time spent putting more into his game he felt the unreal engine was already dated. I'm just glad this is now being worked on by a new dev team and hopefully will be completed soon, as I think this was their best version of duke👍🏽
Gianni is great but just his presence fills me with doubt. theres gonna be some stupid fuckin reddit ass memes i can feel it. some ultrakill reviews level bullshit
This game would have been amazing had it released around 2001 or 2002. The fact that 3DR couldn’t just finish it is so disappointing.
It is amazing.
We never got this version because of Randy Bitchford
No, we never got this version because of George Suck Hard.
1998: "Unreal looks better than us! Can't have that! Let's restart development with the Unreal Engine!"
2000: "Deus Ex looks better than us! Add hub maps and an objective system!"
2002: "Doom 3 looks better than us! Add normal mapping and stencil shadows!"
2005: "No, Scott! I will not hand DNF over to Digital Extremes, goddamnit!"
2008: "Xbox 360 devkits are so cool! Let's chop up levels that don't play well on the Xbox 360!"
2009: "Cutting is shipping! Let's stop developing anything we cannot already play to the end! Oops, we ran out of money!"
2010: "Hey Randy, we're getting sued for not delivering DNF! Here, buy the Duke IP from us!"
Such a great game. Why George ruined it I have no idea
I know it's a shame he was never satisfied. Instead he was obsest with keeping up-to-date with the Engine and graphics. Yet this would of been a classic for 2001. The level of detail and game play are impressive. Would of killed my GeForce 2 in the day lol.
Because he was too egotistical, arrogant, and stupid with way too high ambitions.
Ambition isn’t always a good thing
@@uria3679 It sure isn't. Especially when the technology alone, even at that time, couldn't support it.
I honestly like the DNF we did get, but this entire development process does exemplify the phrase “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.”
You don’t need to be amazing at everything to make a good game, and pursuing that goal and getting more and more scope creep until you run out of money is only going to hurt the project later.
Looks great, but the excessive use of darkness (probably to showcase tech at the time) is a bit annoying.
Yea I noticed that. Especially on the hidden map from 1996. I had to run it through Vlc Player to brighten up the map. You can bump up the brightness in game but shadow play dosn't record it.
2:18 starring Drew Carey
up主,哪里找到2001s版本的?能给个网址吗?
Is this a half life mod? Or did someone obtain the original game files and finish it?
Big foot developers took over the first few levels after the 2001 leak and restored them for the old skool fan's to experience Duke nukem 2001 at it's current state.. what your watching is still in progress, and only peices of the unreal Engine back then in 2001. Hopefully soon this will be completed where the original developers left off. Tbh, this version was very ambitious for 2001 and the community are still working on restoring this masterpiece
@@ADreamPC that’s so dope! When the 2011 version came out I played through it over and over and while I really enjoyed it, it left me wanting more levels to play or more in depth missions. I had found out about the many versions of DNF that had been slated for release but were eventually dropped, and I watched all of the 2001 trailers from E3. I thought the 2001 version would’ve been awesome if it had been released and I even searched the web hoping the game had been leaked (many years ago). It’s awesome to see this game finally coming to the light of day!
@@ADreamPC wow.. I will be following this for sure. amazing work.
Has anyone yet figured out why there are barcodes on the faces? I remember someone asking that in an interview with George, to which he said that it would be revealed in the game.
Don't think so, I bet the answer is in the 2002 build
It really rubs my rhubarb that this game is better than DNF 2011
Yea it had more development time while still under 3d realms. Wasn't untill Gearbox owned the rights that they quickly pieced it together for a release in 2011.
Is there any chance that this will run natively on PowerPC Macs?
I'd imagine m8. I think the glide renderer was the best as it allowed all resolutions with no bugs or glitches. But there's different ones to choose from. I'm not sure about 4k. But you can drop the resolution. I can run it on my laptop and it's just using basic on-board graphics by Intel... 720p looks great on it and only 14 to 15" screen. So yeah, give it a try.
RE4 duke nukem style :)
How i can play this mode??😢😢😢😢

Как можно было сделать такую тупость? Так только специально можно было сделать.
Советую на месте удалить это.
Cant find pissing button...
Lol by default I think it's E. Duke randomly does it though when collecting ammo from enemy's lol
