    Seeing those two giants facing each other was majestic. Though this was a phyrric victory for the Imperium, the sacrifices were not in vain. May the Emperor protect all the souls that were lost in this battle.

    Great tactics for surviving at the end, and an amazing fight! Loved watching the really big ships fighting it out. The visual spectacle was incredible.

    If you wanted Nova cannons for the Imperial Navy, why did you choose the Mars BattleCruisers?
    Just use the Dominator Cruisers; their point cost is lower, so you can bring more within your fleet strength limit, and since both the Mars and the Dominator have 3 Nova shots each, that means overall more Nova shots per barrage. As a bonus, the Dominator has 2 Macro-batteries on each side vs 1 on each side for the Mars, meaning more firepower when the enemy finally comes close.

      I think that the point of this build were carriers and that the nova cannons were a plus in order to strengthen long range firepower. So your tactic is for sure logic, tested and sound but I don’t think is applicable to this battle

      I’m not even sure Dominators exist in Skalgrim mod. A lot of factions had some ships removed (the Necrons lost the Khopesh LC, for example).
      Also, Dominators wouldn’t really do that much more against a instant delete ship like an Ark of Omen. They fire the short range batteries.

      @@spookyghostwriter3110 The Ark of Omen is for the flagship to handle.
      Besides, the player here likes to merge into close quarters for the ultimate clash anyway, so the short range doesn’t matter, the extra firepower of more batteries does.
      That extra firepower counts when the Dominators swarm around the Ark of Omen after dealing with most of the nearby enemy fleet.

      @@sumantochanda2093 “Most of the enemy fleet”.
      I took the time to count the ship lists at the end of the battle, actually.
      The Chaos fleet had 2 titans, 8 Battleships/GCs, and 5 more line ships roughly on the same tier as the Mars/Dominator.
      Assuming that you can bring 12 Dominators to a fight rather than 8 Mars, that’s still a 13-12 fight, and with 8 ships being of a much heavier tonnage.
      12 Dominators would get maybe a combined 20 nova cannon shots out (nova cannons reload slowly) before they would have to face a enemy fleet with only basic battery weapons.
      I don’t see how they’ll mop up the whole of that fleet.

      @sumantochanda2093 Рік тому

      @@spookyghostwriter3110 I said: most of the “nearby” enemy fleet. That means try to destroy those close to the Omen.
      Once the Omen is isolated and other remaining enemy ships are far away, the Dominators can swarm around it.
      After destroying the Omen, they can turn their attention back to the other ships.

    Never understood how chaos worked.
    I mean, to build or maintain such ships, you need mining worlds, massive refineries, huge shipyards and and immense reserve of manpower to make all of that work. Which the imperium have.
    But... Is there such things in the immaterium?

    • @itsawoodchuck4330
      @itsawoodchuck4330 Рік тому

      They do have lots of that, they have enslaved thousands of worlds in the eye of terror and they have the resources of thousands of years of cultist fleeing into the warp, etc. The Chaos faction in the battle is actually corrupted Imperials, the ships they’re using are the ones they had before they were corrupted or built in slave worlds they have conquered and rule over.

    • @jakzine540
      @jakzine540 Рік тому +6

      I believe so; there is a VASTNESS to space and the Eye of the Warp where, clearly, a vast realm of less UTTERLY INSANE planets, asteroid belts, and such can exist to provide such needs in a concentrated, brutally exploited area deeply concentrated and effective for the needs of Chaos Warbands. There's also the simple reality that easily thousands of Imperial vessels go missing in the Warp every year, and a considerable portion of that tonnage doubtlessly works its way back to Chaos bands, if they weren't stolen by Chaos forces or friendly Demons. It's made perfectly clear that many worlds are still fully inhabitable in the regions of space colonized by Chaos...they're just REALLY horrible, and frankly why would the Chaos lords and Demons care in the slightest if they were pleasant or not?

    • @wylandnares8642
      @wylandnares8642 Рік тому

      There is, actually. During the Horus heresy, it wasn't just the legions that turned traitor, there were also thousands of worlds that, by pledges of loyalty or by force, turned with him. Many of these were Forge Worlds, and a large sect of the Mechanicum on Mars led by then Fabricator General Kelbor Hal, also turned Traitor. These traitor Mechanicum, later known as the Dark Mechanicum, Would flee into the Eye of Terror at the End of the Heresy, or even have their Forge Worlds be dragged into the warp via massive rituals. There, safe from Imperial meddling, and unconstrained from the dogma of the Loyalists, they expanded. All those things you mentioned, the shipyards, refineries, and mining ops, all of those were built during those 10,000 years between the end of the heresy and now. Materials and manpower (slaves) are taken from raids into realspace, or via payment from various warbands in exchange for services, like wargear, repairs, or battlefield support.
      Tl;Dr: They have those things, they built those things, they got materials and manpower from stealing things/from payment.

    Quite the critical battle 🤔
    It was logical and tactical to constantly maneuver around the enemy flagship and constantly firing in its blind spot where none of its weapons can reach your command ship.
    You have made the Emperor proud for your tactical actions and brought righteous vengeance upon the traitors of Mankind
    Glory to the Imperium

    Oh yeah, Alpha Legion is definitely Loyalist. It lead Chaos to be slaughtered (and they weren't even present given there is no portrait). By the way, is it possible to do internal faction battles, like Khorne vs Slaan?

    Fudge it. I'm finally gonna get rid of all the Fallout 4 and its mods and reinstall this game and mod again.
