If you watch this channel regularly, the Marla Amplification S10V is not going to be super new to you. I’ve featured it in a handful of videos, putting it through its paces a bit. That includes gigging with this lil guy, which I’ve done twice.
The S10V is a 6V6, 10.8 Watt tube amp. You have two inputs-high and low sensitivity-a single volume and a single tone control. It has a Mojotone Anthem 50W and it weighs 32 pounds.

An amp at that price point has no business sounding that good! props to Marla Amps on this!
Thanks Duder!
I might have to work a few Saturday nights at the ole Snap-On Tools and get one of these. They are close to me in Asheville. I live in Tennessee
We were just in Johnson City doing some AT trail hiking with the dog... and we also found this place called Daylight Donuts!!! holycow, best donuts in the southeast.
Awesome video Emily! I live close enough to Marla amps, so I might test drive one!
Go for it!
The amp sounds really nice and I hope the company has success with it.
But because you asked, the catch is that I could probably find an off brand amp like a harmony from the 60s with similar specs for around 400. Or for the same price, I could get a sweet 1960s valco made gretsch that's much more powerful.
Love it! Emily, you rock!!!
Thanks for letting me try this guy out!
YES YES YES IN AN INFLATION RIDDEN ECONOMY THIS IS EVERYTHING I WILL STOP BUYING PEDALS TO AFFORD THIS AHHHH
This is fantastic! A simple amp that’s repairable, affordable, sounds killer and made in the USA. What’s not to like?
thanks JP!!
That Chrissie Hynde is just a beautiful guitar
great video, thanks for turning us on to these. what a great value!
Thanks Miguel!!! Rock On!
You bet!
I really need to give Jazzmasters another look. Any thoughts on the Squier paranormal 12 string version? I played one and it actually made me laugh out loud because it does a thing.
Your guitars are so lovely 🥹
Thanks! 😃
At first I was like, this sounds more like a Fender and not so much a Vox AC. But it sounds like a decent mix of the two. Probably if you put a Celestion in there, it might sound more Voxy.
Whatever happened to the guy you used to do this channel with? I remember seeing that split screen a few years back.
The beginning of that jazz lick sounds sort of like the song Kip Dynamite sings about technology at his wedding.
Andrew? He's doing well! Just hung out with him a few weeks ago.
Did I hear a Polaris/Mulcahy riff at the 11:50 mark???
haha, I play "Hey Sandy" throughout this video, yes.
@@GetOffset Love it :)
came here to comment the same thing! great song choice. and thank you for the video! love your channel and appreciate the heads up about this great sounding amp.
@@mattyann thanks for the kind words 💜
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day Emily also Saturday is my friends birthday 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
🎉
That amp sounds good
Thanks Ken! Have a great weekend!
Emily is the best!!!! ❤
You are!
It’s a perfect amp to max the volume and just use guitar volume to control the grind IMO. You don’t need no stinkin’ pedals! :-)
nailed it!
I guessed $859.32
Just wish it had an FX Loop.
love this comment! Always needing to understand whats most important to musicians. Thanks Shane! please know that your voice is heard and your input is appreciated!
@@MarlaAmps I did not even know that you existed. I live in Flat Rock NC which is just about 30min or less from Asheville. The price is great, and I went on your site and love the one stained in blue. I just do not generally like to put Reverb, Delay, Chorus in front of an amp. I was NOT trying to be rude OR disrespectful in any way. I would even pay more for one that had an FX loop as I just think it makes any amp more versatile. Take Care and I wish you much success.
@@shane011471 i did not take the comment as rude or anything of that nature. The very fact that you have a suggestion means you're wishing a small company success and thats freak'n awesome to me! Flat Rock is awesome! Great hiking and that gas station pizza restaurant is amazing!! haha. and i totally agree, although i like effects in front of the preamp, they do react in a much different way after the preamp stage and having that feature is always a huge bonus.
@@MarlaAmps If you ever do decide to put a loop in, PLEASE let me know as it would be awesome to not even need to have it shipped and support a local small company and put a face on the people that made it. When it needed service, I could just drive it down to you. Nothing but positives all around! Wish your company nothing but all the best.
@@shane011471 heck yea! i'll keep you in the loop!... see what i did there? haha
Emily! I’m trying to save money here! I can only thank god you didn’t play a strat through this or I may have HAD to pull the trigger 😅😂
Haha, I pulled the Tele instead of a Strat at the last minute!
@@GetOffset close one 😮💨
Pete & Pete?
You bet!
If you're reviewing an amp, you should not be using pedals that change the sound...
Thanks for watching!
Thanks JJ! I get the comment. However, I do call the S10V "your pedalboard's best friend" and encourage owners and reviews to showcase how it handles pedals. I feel like the modern gigging musician gets a lil bite from their amps, but really use pedals for gain staging and they need to see how the amps react to drive pedals. Also, every amp needs reverb; real reverb in a concert hall, or imitation from a spring or from pedals.
