Managed Floor 65 and can def say mid maxing your build becomes increasingly important as time goes on. Running Hunter set + as many damage types as possbile + either DoT for Barrier enemies or super bulk to just outlast them + etc. You can do Billions of damage but if your cant get a swing in it doesnt matter which is why DoT + Hunter matters so late in the game. Glad you showed this game Aavak as it really scratches a itch that really needed scratching! Thank you!
@@eleanoradams4560 the enemy that has invuln can be poisoned I found. It does damage through barrier. Idk how else other then stunning it to beat it outside of outlast its damage
i wonder if it wouldnt have been better to just take the lesser uber sword, the 200% one, when it came up and you burned it. we'll never know..... good run, great video as always
I think the game is interesting thought not sure if I would purchase it myself. I’m more here just for your narration and story telling. I enjoyed the last video and do hope other also enjoyed it enough to make it a continuous series.
That was great! Tough luck. You probably should have committed one way or the other; either sell your stuff to get the sword immediately or like you said continue normal upgrades while saving up.
As someone who has turned the penetration bug to my side, I can confirm it's doing some weird things to damage. Jupiter ended my first run and I will never leave home without a Hunter item ever again. Oh, I also regret to inform that the character's Set Bonus does not count for multipliers. At very least, Sid (the Mercenary set guy) does not get item drops without actual armor pieces equipped, but he does get the scaling extra attacks.
I've reached floor 82 on a build that seems immortal and at this point I think boredom is the only thing that will do me in. Of note, after floor 70 the cost to reroll the store goes up every floor by more gold than you can make in a floor so past that point you can never use the store again.
You'll just have to buy an item and resell it over and over to keep getting 1 new item at a time instead of 4. It's annoying but it's a way to avoid reroll costs.
... If you had built Giant's Ring for deconstruction and/or use, your max health would have been significantly higher, which would then scale Vimblow. I am honestly surprised you cared about the vampiric pieces for max health, but never noticed how the Giant's Ring is the single best health piece, overlooking it every time it showed up. Another note is that when rolling gets expensive, you can buy a cheap item and sell it back immediately to refresh the slot, if you have an empty inventory space. That stretches out your gold and rolls. Btw, my favorite combo is a glass cannon Scout set + Shadow set, using the magic side of Shadow. Every time you dodge, you hit back, which scales your damage by the number of active enemies, already multiplied by the Shadow Vortex ring and insight. That dodge even allows bringing the Mercenary set higher up, for passive looting and multistrikes.
So very, very close at the end there. Maybe if you had sold off some other bits and pieces you could have gotten your dream weapon just in time... Questions like that _make_ a game like this, if you ask me. They are what invites one back to go test ideas, check theories, try gambits.
Fully embracing the regen or lifesteal lifestyles means you only need enough armor to stop someone killing you in one go, which is quite something. If you live through Round 1, you're pretty much done.
@@glenmcgillivray4707the only possible explanation for such a wallop of armour being applied has to be that the Lifesteal was generating armour somehow??? Either that or there’s some sort of integer overflow when 300% penetration attacks a 0 armour enemy
This is why I prefer magic scaling. With insight I do easily over 300K damage at this point which means that if it can be hit it is already dead. Though of course, hindsight is 20/20 and I had no way to deal with Jupiter and died on floor 20, still better than 96% players for my first try. Next time I'll do better
1:37:47 The big boy, the head honcho, he of the angry boom boom (I cheated, I watched part of your stream last night. Edited only to add this note XD). Also, the merging in this is just SO satisfying.
If you're worried about a celestial body being dodgy, it must certainly be Pluto! Either dodgy for being a fake planet for ages, or for dodging out of an astronomical classification altogether.
Mercury seems the dodgiest. I can see an argument for Pluto, but Mercury also has the winged messenger stuff from Roman myth, so that makes them feel dodgier than Pluto.
I knew it would be Jupiter. Jupiter killed my first run. I was hitting the entire room for 2 mill 6 or 7 times on turn 1 and then for like 13k 6 or 7 times after that and digging through dodge and block enemies was already the only thing that ever slowed me down. Then Jupiter arrived. Hilariously, I would have simply 1 shot any Saturn I saw.
I think, to really get the full effect of the vampirism you would need demonic for the "aoe", swift to attack the rows behind and merc to get as many attacks off as possible. Then get lots of life steal, health, break through and percentual attack through dimantling and just hoping for the best that you can out heal any enemy. So basically the biggest and most fragile glass-cannon to have ever glass-cannoned 😂
I think I'll buy this. EDIT: Bought it. Jupiter sure as hell is an enemy. And damn the ladder got steeper with the game out, what was 98% yesterday is now around 60%.
I had guessed Saturn when you posed the question, so I was a bit disappointed to hear the one you were on the look out was Jupiter. Imagine my surprise when it was indeed my guess what did you in.
Two mega videos from Aavak, plus Drachinifel's (naval history) last Live Drydock and Patreon Drydock... between the two of them, I've got 15 hours of content I just have to click play on!
I'm guessing Pluto, because it's short and wiry, and will glass you in a fight! Edit: I was wrong, but I stuck with my guess. Pluto is unstable since the divorce from our home made school project's models.
When I look at the mechanics it looks like not chaning and not upgradit the equipment will hinder your gold income as well. when i saw you dont have any rings for few floors it was a lot lost gold in the begining... few of the items get goes from +30% gold to like +110%... btw... had to buy the game right away :D
My biggest question now is: Can @Aavak reach this far without multi strike? No other restrictions, just don't pick multi strike. Area effects and hits all enemies are perfectly fine, but no multi strike. I wonder if the big, red Welsh Dragon Overlord can shift their archetype from the ones on display in these two episodes?
Well that was an amazing run! You said it yourself, but the one more chance mechanic is really a good idea, particularly if you're just grinding and mindlessly attack until something actually challenges your build. Also, I'm sure someone else has said it or you've discovered it yourself, but I think the elite colour matches the loot rarity colours, so a green elite might be stronger than a grey elite?
I am having a really hard time figuring out how to deal with the teen-floor nimble elites that have like 20 energy and there are 6 of them dodging everything until death by a thousand cuts... What do you use to deal with them for magic builds?
Wonder if that one divine for 164K, being sold instead of being dismantled...would you have lived long enough to buy the sword??? Such a tough decision!
Yeah, Jupiter was where I really started to understand it's not just about the gear you're wearing, it's about the gear you can change into as the situation demands it!
I know that youtuber blindness is a real thing and I am not trying to insult you, I noticed you tend to leave pieces of higher rarity gear in your inventory when it doesn't have the upgrade icon on it. I think that makes it easier to ignore. Loving the game, the systems are very interesting.

For anyone curious, according to Google Translate, the death message at 1:43:22 says "I'm pooping myself". How lovely.

the problem is that eventually you get enemies that not only can dodge like 20 times, but attack you on every dodge
That armor pen % HAS to be multiplying Saturn's attack. That just shouldn't be.
