Ryan Hall is amazing and has run the half in 59 minutes and the Boston marathon in high 2:04's, I feel bad that his career hasn't been doing that great because of injury lately but hope he gets back into his 2011 shape.
I had the pleasure to run in Flagstaff. It is the best place I have ever run in. The elevation attracts runners as well as the beautiful trails. Perfect place for those who take running seriously.
Inspirational…. Incredible guy and you have to like what he says in the beginning. "You can win the race and still loose… I just want to help people enjoy running". You do Ryan Hall…. You do!!! Your heart wins!
Ryan was a Bad Ass!! I’m on mile 22 of his book, Run the mile you’re in., His book is so inspiring and faith based., I love reading every mile., It will be hard to beat his US records., Way to go Ryan!!
Yeah it's strange, I'm lighter yet eat much more. He's a big guy now, maybe he was starving him self a bit. I probably average less than half of his mileage per week and I eat/shit so much that I have hemorroids. I literally take like 5 huge shits a day and I don't even watch my fat intake etc.
i ve been vagan i felt like shit, my muscles ached after a work out and did not recover, i generally felt like i'm eating paper, no matter how full, always weak dizzy and hungry.
I love this video. I just gotta point out that its kinda silly to drive to the dirt for his warmup and cooldown, and then to go run 15 miles on asphalt in the old school asics flats haha. Now adays runners would just slap on their 40mm of PEBA foam and crush all the mileage on asphalt. Ryan really was at a different level, and he just barely missed the super shoe boom.
dont get me wrong, im a big ryan hall fan, i just think that a few miles in trainers on asphalt is a drop in the bucket when compared to 15 miles in minimal flats @@goodluck2522
I don't know Ryan Hall ... like the way he spells his name and rep. by USA asigs but I stay taken a back. He backs me become a better 48 yrs old runner.
Ryan, you are a running great, and a real warrior for God, but I have to mention that those products are all laboratory derived. The Temple of the Holy Spirit has God's wisdom and it knows the difference between food and chemicals. Muscle Milk is not organic, which means that there may be GMO's. There has been a huge increase in food sensitivities and allergies since the introduction of GMO's into the food chain. Perhaps your gut has been harmed by these chemicals, thus contributing to your food sensitivities. You are young. Keep your body clean. Continue to Glorify God!
The life and times of a 2:08 US marathhoner. No nike shoes, timex watch, or adidas shirt. You have to hustle cytomax and gluten free pancake mix to pay the rent. I respect this.
No. However, it is the most convenient way to consume protein though. I am a colligate cross country/track runner and I tend to stay away from shakes or bars whenever I can. If I want protein, I try to eat natural. Go for chicken, fish, and beans. All of those are high in protein and provide essential vitamins for pre/post workouts. Since I run everyday, I always have chicken or fish for lunch and/or dinner. Also, try to avoid steaks as well as pork and beef. Although they have a lot of protein, they are very high in fat and cholesterol. Eat it only on occasion. I only consume red meat about once a week. Grilled chicken is the best bet for you. Also, it also depends on what time you can take in protein. If you know you won't be able to eat chicken or natural protein within 90 minuets after your workout, then go with a shake. Otherwise, if you have the time, go natural. But do not wait too long though. Hope this helps!
At that elite running level of many miles each week with some speed intensity workouts with it eating the standard heslthy meals still isn't enough protein your body needs for a good recovery.Even just 3 scoops of protein powder can equal an extra 75 grams of protein each day.I have noticed after drinking some protein powder about 90 minutes before a run I feel a good protein pump and more strength in a longer run. AS far as his Muscle Milk yeah it could of been a sponser.I persomslly wouldn't choose Muscle Milk Protein powder as there are more quality bands but I do like a good Vitamin store Brand which is a protein whey isolate for faster absorption .The only thing I can say is remember good running is based on 3 principles 1 stimilus/exercise, 2 nutrition/food,3 sleep rest for recovery. If just one aspect is off either over training or under training or not eating well enough or maybe just not sleeping then it effects performance .I an not a Fan of using supplements to replace a healthy diet but when your training hard it can help speed up recovery on the back end.Just use these in moderstion on big dsys.If I personally didn't have a long run schedule I would skip protein powder on the days I didn't it..As a goal for high training levels the recommended ratio was about 1 gram of protein for every 2 pounds of body weight. For instance someone who weighs about 180 lbs then try to get up to 90 gram of protein in a day which can be difficult from just besns,or meat. The small quick protein drinks help reach those goals during a difficult training cycle. So in a nut shell don't use supplements instead of natural foods but only use it in modernen to help enhance recovery and Performance 🌄
It's not crazy you should have at least 1 day completely resting a week. Otherwise his muscles would be too tired from continually working day in day out.
This dude is a beast! Such an inspiration from such a laid back, and cool person :D

look at those legs going, so smooth
+drtisbeter true
Wow. He just ran a 15 mile workout 30 seconds slower than my half marathon PR... This definitely makes you appreciate how fast the pros run.
Humble brag

Your the first Elite I have ever followed. You have been a great influence to me and thousands of other runners. God bless you and your family!
Some of his finest form.
Inspirational…. Incredible guy and you have to like what he says in the beginning. "You can win the race and still loose… I just want to help people enjoy running". You do Ryan Hall…. You do!!! Your heart wins!
This friend with bike is very important. Congratulation!

flagstaff a 'ghost town' with 130,000 people lmao
Good man for sharing...very laid back..hope da dog comes out when you need it!
low 5 minute range.. that's my MILE time.
I love how so many people like to give Ryan Hall advice on nutrition.. lol... such arrogance is truly entertainment..
What a legend
He was about to say that fake shit :D
This is the longest Asic commercial I 've ever seen
Shoes weren't very specific, kept showing bricks compared to 2021 standards. More about how much sugars this guy has before/during/after was my take.
that SNEAKY SNEAKY soy sauce!
a 5:09 pace is ridiculously quick
and he makes it look effortless
No wonder he struggles to finish marathons... he doesn't eat enough. Dude goes out and runs 15 miles then has a pancake and protein shake to recover.
True haha. I would be absolutely starving after running ~20 miles that one pancake wouldn't cut it.
I have a similar diet after running... It's bad but I ( and Ryan could have a similar problem) have little hunger for a few hours after running

Chop on you NARP, and come back when you've run 2:04, how the hell can you work out how much he eats in a day from this jump cut film?
Take your shoes off in the mans house.
Wow¡¡¡ zero fruits and vegetables¡¡
6:25 Don't know when this was shot, but if it was anytime after January that bracelet should come off when on camera.
Why can't we find the cyto carb with the same bottle design as in the video? the compagnie changed the design?
2023 here
Yea! I've been raw vegan for a while and I feel amazing!
i ve been vagan i felt like shit, my muscles ached after a work out and did not recover, i generally felt like i'm eating paper, no matter how full, always weak dizzy and hungry.
MrSurelysure don't it then mate do what makes you happy
MrSurelysure what were you eating typically?
bread, beans, broccolli, potatoes, peas, string beans, all sorts of vegetables
then i would say not enough calories, what was your activity level? it doesnt sound like you were eating alot of fruits.
PLZ PLZ PLZZZ tell me where you got that song with the riff at 1:03! what's it called?
the track underlying the running scene at the very begining? recommendations for similiar tracks or artists?
2:17 in Boston. Women's winner: 2:18.
Says it all.
Richard Stevens what did you run?
This made me laugh because I live in a town with less than 2000

Cool.. but he still ran faster than anyone in the US can currently run in super shoes... so.... not that silly
dont get me wrong, im a big ryan hall fan, i just think that a few miles in trainers on asphalt is a drop in the bucket when compared to 15 miles in minimal flats @@goodluck2522

@ CoolTheDood
it's crazy to think he takes a day off instead of an easy run. hmm

What's wrong with soy sauce?
For him, it's a gluten intolerance/allergy.
I wouldn't have known, thanks for clearing it up!
