- My name is Austin, this is Mopar Garage, and we build cool stuff in here! Today we are making some more progress on the Shelby Dodge Daytona Turbo Z project. Oil pan gasket, motor mount reconnection, oil pressure sensors, and more!

My Vehicles:
1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 short bed standard cab 5 speed 5.2 (318) V8
1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z Carroll Shelby Edition
2019 Kia Optima LX FE
This project got so much more in depth than I expected. I love it.
Haha me too! I honestly though it was going to be about a 3 month ordeal. But every single fix I did uncovered 2-3 other things that needed to be done. Here we are a year and a half later. This project has kicked my butt!
Yep, moving toward the goal. Brakes.....that's the thing I hate most about a project car. Seems like groundhog day every time I get a new project, I gotta do brakes - hoses, lines, master cylinders, wheel cylinders, proportioning valves, etc. Can't wait to see this thing fire up!
Haha you've got a point there! Coming from NH, I had to replace a lot of rusted out brake lines. NOT a fun time 😂
Is there anything better than room temp vulcanized cream? I think not!
Get yourself one of those pre-pressured mini-split ACs for the garage.
😂 when in doubt room temperature vulcanize! I’ve thought about either doing that or one of the stand alone units that you pipe out the window…if I can get one of the garage windows open. Gotta do something though!
dirt bike tires!!!! hahaha sucks
Haha the worst!
have you ever had the issue of the car going into limp mode? my 85 just randomly went too limp mode and i cannot find the cause.
I haven’t. This is the only Turbo era Dodge I’ve had though, and I’ve only driven it probably a total of about one mile before the tear down started, so I don’t have a ton of experience there. I know the fuel systems and pickup coils have a ton of issues in these cars, it could possibly be related to an issue with either of those. I would probably start by testing fuel pressure and the pickup coil.
i found someone with an old scanner and it turned out too be a tps sensor (throttle position sensor) so i’m now waiting too put it in hoping it will solve my problem i appreciate you getting back with me.
@@scruffscruff3125 awesome. Good luck brother! Thanks for watching.
Love it!
Thanks for watching!
Great job!
Thanks for watching!!
I used to have a Dodge Daytona turbo Z 1986 and I love to see your video thank you
@@rokeysanchez5328 thanks man! There’s a whole playlist on my channel with this car. It’s been quite a project!
The job I hate the most is working on rusty exhaust systems...especially on jackstands. No matter what kind of safety glasses you have on...that piece of rust always finds your eye.
Haha that’s a good one!
