There's a program called MMLV Editor, which lets you load a level file and edit it outside the game. In it you can do things like change some object properties, or place floor tiles that don't have collision in them. It's very outdated now, though, and only works with older versions of the game. If you load a level made after the most recent game updates, a lot of things may look broken or simply get erased from the file once you load it back in the game.
That really sucks. I guess that every boss that came from the most recent update (Burst, Tengu, Galaxy, Jewel, Nitro, and Fuse) might still be glitchy and cause a potential crash. I got the same issue during a Fuse Man fight. Hopefully a game patch that fix those will come up soon, then.
