Done a bunch of these, unfortunately was always after head bolts broke which introduced coolant into the engine so had to replace the head gaskets as well. Very good information on here guys!!!

I was planning to wait until 100k mi and having a looksie. I thought I'd be ok since my car is not an abused high miles middle east car but this one looks clean af and well cared for and still not looking good... boo
My 156 e63 has the weaker headbolt design. Is it ok to upgrade to the stronger headbolt with the stronger more material on the head than the ones you used in this video. Basically the ones without the washer but with the male heads not the original weaker female heads. Thanks

Thanks man! Yes I should of stated that this method is just for an uncomprimised head gasket!

does newer design m157, my 2014 E63 have tappet and cam adjuster issues? I heard the chain is upgraded.
No cams should be ok. But at 100k I would reseal the valve covers and check everything. The chains were updated on most models by 2013.
