My 2 favourite bands ever on the same bill, ,OMG !! ,,If I can just get the time machine to start I, ll pick you up bout 7.30 ,,you're buying the beer,,, cheers mate 😎
I had tix and B B DLX is an all time favorite.I couldn't get a ride to Pawtucket so my dad dropped me off but I missed them. Saw the Tubes but I wanted Bill and the boys most.
Everybody fan of Nelson complain that Bills is the most under rated musicians' of the 70th. Problem is that Bill was to clever for his time to be a musician.
@Broadfieldpoint You are so right! I've heard a lot of guitarists' work, but this guy is something else. Plus, he does a lot of intricate stuff while he's singing. So good it's scary.
its esy to say Mr Bill is No1, but can peopel take in his music and like it. I love it, his music is like a flow and never stop. Saw him live and it was more fun than Hendrix.
Definitely cut from that same cloth of great tone and impeccable phrasing. Choosing a BEST is like saying there can only be ONE. I like BOTH. Frankly I also like Frank Marino, Steve Vai, Carlos Santana. I've been a tone junkie since my teens. Give me a few well selected notes with great tone within the body of a song and I can listen all night. Shred endlessly without the tone/taste combo and it's better for me than No-Doz.
What's the date of this show? I saw them open for Styx on St. Patrick's Day in New Haven CT ( Mar. 15, 1978 ). This was the only "old" track in the set; the rest was all from Drastic Plastic. I think they were rocking it up more in 1978, reacting to punk/new wave approaches, and yeah, this version is a little more aggressive than the "Air Age" live lp version, which had a more expansive, less hurried quality. Anyway, jam bands take some note of Be Bop Deluxe because of tracks like this. Mighty, Mighty!
I've read that Bill discovered he could overdrive his amps by turning the output of his tape delay units up full ? Might be a part of his beautiful tone ? In later years although he still sounded great with newer gear it wasn't the creamy Live in the air age es345 tone I love aswell ,cheers mate.
This guy is the most underated guitar player in the history of rock guitar. Incredible
my dad played keys for be bop deluxe, but left quite early on,his name is richard brown.
1.09... the magic starts. Wonderful guitar playing
Bill is the reason I picked up a guitar 35 years ago. Still my biggest inspiration
omg - wow - this is so much more intense than the album version - Bill blows them all away on this!
I was at this show. Be-Bop was the supporting act. The main act was The Tubes. Easily the best concert Ie attended in my 50 yrs

The guitar work on this version showcases Bill's virtuosity.
Bill the best Loved going to se Be Bop live
For me Bill is the greatest guitarist of all time. His playing and songwriting are on the same level....a true musical genius.
I was at this show. The main act was The Tubes. both bands were phenomenal

Definitely an original. What we ALL were meant to be. But the industry got in the way.
Bill is a genius on the guitar
Stupendously brilliant!

@Broadfieldpoint yes absolutely spot on - great feel and dynamics!!!
And this may be Bills finest live recorded moment

Agreed: That tone is amazing. I've tried to duplicate it for years and cannot come close.
