Of all the songs, this is the one I think is probably my absolute favourite. I used to listen to it a lot at during an incredibly dark time. I'd just come out and really was trying to get my head around who I was and many other things. I was so ill with anorexia and I used to listen to this and try and find some kind of hope that things might get better. Just such a beautiful song.

One of my favorite songs of Melissa 💖
Her father supported her and her mother didn’t understand but she had a very loving childhood. Her father used to travel with her when she was first starting out.
This song is still so relevant (sadly), but we are all better off that ME believed in herself, had family support and was born to be the proud lesbian rock star she is today! Here’s to your well deserved votes to be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame...so many deserving women. Cheers to you ME...you make us all so proud.

She wrote a memoir back in 2001 (available online) and has been thru so much. Her dad was really her only ally, but after many heartbreaks, she's married (10+years now) and seems really happy. She deserves every ounce of happiness coming her way. She is such an inspiration ❤️
