This one was overdue :)
Metroid 2 was a blast on the Game Boy. Unlike other parts of the series this one was pretty linear as you progressed from area to area without the explicit need to track back unless you forgot something. Just like with the first Metroid there was still no map.
Oh .. and in case you have never heard of it: Look for AM2R. Nintendo doesn't want to have it but I am sure there is a copy around of this awesome remake of this game.

That sepia color filter looks really good for this game. Normally i don't really mind the black and white filter everyone else uses, but for me, it always felt a bit... unnatural for this game.

@@darobster5520 Thanks. I always pic a fitting color palette for classic Gameboy games. Like reddish for Castlevania, greenish for a Turtles game, blue for a space game ect. There were 5 official systems that could play these games and 3 of them allowed to change the color palettes so I think it is legitimate to also show a longplay of one in a fitting palette

The most ironic game in the series, as Samus' goal is to wipe out all the dangerous creatures representing the title.

My personal, all time favorite Metroid game.
Not the best (or worse) in the series, and does show its age.
But *dang* do I have great memories playing this, imagining lore for the various ruins and critters, and dreading the encounters with the evolved menaces😂😅

fun fact on the gameboy color if you hit a direction button at the title screen it will change the color of the game. you had the original colors, a white/pinkish filter, brown filter and the last one i forget. i got this game from a PAWN SHOP in st. louis back in the day

Yup. You can also hold A or B and the Directional Pad to get other colors, too.

This was way overdue indeed. Now there's just Other M left, and then all 2D Metroid games are on the channel. Also, since Metroid Prime 4 is now scheduled for releasing next year, it might be a good idea to do Metroid Prime 3 before then.

I couldn't solve this in under 2 hours.😂 I love this music, eventhough it's just beeps and boops. Also, I like how they turned it into symphony sounds in the remake.
