Brooklyn Bridge is the last stop on the 6 then it curves around the city hall abandoned station and it comes back to Brooklyn Bridge station. Bonus: MTA does a tour of the City hall abandoned station. You can take little red shoes and littler red shoes with you.
There are tours available for the original City Hall Station. You can see so many things, including the dedication plaques that were used to open the original Manhattan Main Line that ran from City Hall up into Harlem.
3:14 you didn’t realize that the nice tag is on the wall of another abandoned station, Worth Street, which closed in 1962. Just a heads up because you like abandoned stations so there is something you may have not known
redphone243 Yep I actually knew that and when we stopped there for a bit in front of the NICE graffiti he would notice worth street but he surprisingly didn’t.
About the City Hall loop, MTA used to make it illegal to ride the 6 to look at CH Loop. Now it’s all reversed, people stay on to get to the Bronx bound side.
Anyways, here’s something for where to now: (2)(4)(6) (F)(E)(J)(L) 1. Start off at Grand Army Plaza and take the 2 to Atlantic Avenue - Barclays Center 2. Take the 4 to Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall 3. Because in the 1930-40s, trains got longer and weren’t able to make the curve. Also there was a big gap between the train and the platform and the platform itself could only fit 5 cars. Also Brooklyn bridge station was only a few blocks away and offered express service as well
There are tours. I've never taken one, but I found the website. Just go to www.nyadventureclub.com/search/city%20hall and click the subway tour you would like to go on.
when they lengthened the platforms to accommodate longer trains they had to close those stations too close together that the platforms would run on top of each other and you'd have one giant long station.
Brooklyn Bridge is the last stop on the 6 then it curves around the city hall abandoned station and it comes back to Brooklyn Bridge station.
Bonus: MTA does a tour of the City hall abandoned station. You can take little red shoes and littler red shoes with you.
