You should be clear that fully obby w/ sword & zerker is significantly higher dps than dharok's or whip (unless you're on task so you can't have the set bonus). A good place to start training combat f2p is lumbridge swamps: bring a hatchet and a fishing net and fish for a full inventory of shrimp cut down a nearby dead tree and train until you're around 5-15 in attack, defence, strength and hp: alternatively you can also use this spot to train your mining/smithing as well: mine the bronze and tin nearby, then bank your bronze using lumbridge castle bank, continue until you have about 300 bronze and 300 tin - after that smelt it in al kharid, go to varrock to smith all your bars and hey presto you should have about 22 smith which is enough to continue on to iron, repeat and you effectively start playing.
If you're low level I wouldn't recommend moving to member territory to train fighting as rock crabs would knock you out easy, stay in lumbridge till you're reasonably leveled to about at least level 20 that way you're not going to get killed easily and you'll have a reasonable pool of skills for doing quests

@@killer2434 honestly same, pest control is fun especially when you are a higher level and can drop any monster relatively quick. Feels good being "that guy".
Seagulls. Lot's of health for early game grinding, low def, no attack. Since they aren't in lumbridge (and because every guide out there says "chickens and cows) there aren't going to be a lot of players to compete with for them. Even if some other players are grinding at Port Sarim, you can take boats to other islands that have scores of them. Easily 1-30 before you need to start thinking about going somewhere else.
F2P start Leveling defense first on chickens until you can wear steel or black armor. Go to Monks after next to Edgeville. Afk train defense then attack for a long time. Once you are able to equip and wear mitril, do a short quest called vampire slayer that will give you large atk xp. After that you can continue afk on monks. Another option is semi afk train on alkharid guards. Besides Stronghold, you can try afk train on Black Knights, next to Monks.
Also if you ever get a green dragon task, Torag body and legs with Slayer helm, glory and stab weapon you get to fill an inventory + looting bag with barely any food, and if you get a pker just tele out or pray magic and tank
You know, I honestly think the obsidian armor (at least the platelegs) are kinda overrated as far as strength bonus. If you think about it you're giving up 40 in each defence stat for +1 str bonus versus barrows legs, and I noticed I had to bank a lot more because of that doing slayer tasks. For me it was better to sack the legs in favor of barrows, and just put that money towards a torture to replace my fury. You could give the argument that the torso is basically the samething, but tbh the chestplate atleast gives +4 str bonus, so you get more for giving up those defensive stats.
What do you mean? If you mean switching out the torso for barrows then no, because barrows gives +0 vs +4 strength even though barrows gives twice the defensive stats, and if you mean switching out the torso for the obsidian chest then no again, because the torso actually gives more defensive bonuses, and the torso gives +4 strength vs +3. The only place I can see it being useful is if you don't have a torso, if you do then the torso is just objectively better. Back to the legs though, the +1 strength bonus just isn't worth losing like +40 in every defensive stat, so It's still overrated to me; if they were just a better version of dlegs then I'd think about it more, but they're not.
I was talking about obby plate, It's not worth getting a torso imo because it shoulnt take long to get a bcp if you're at the point where you're getitng this type of gear . Only real reason for torso imo is for diary.
Bandos armor should be one of the last things you buy, things like a torture, and even prim boots offer better value. Torso is free versus using the 19mill to buy like a torture and a zerker or something.
A lot of times especially in the lower str levels a +4 str bonus doesnt mean an extra max hit. Thus you would be better off with best defensive/prayer gear.
what is better the brimstone ring or berserker ring? The berserker ring only has +4 str and +4 crush. As for the brimstone ring it has literally all the same stats with +4 in all offensive and defensive stats. So which ring is considered better. I do understand the berserker ring (i) would be better but that is only if you use nightmare mode.
If doing general combat training is it better to use the abyssal whip and use the shared xp style or use dragon scim and level strength first before anything else?
Ok as someone with 70 attack, 71 strength, and 75 defense what should i focus on getting 99 first? Currently just training through slayer but should i focus on 99 attack first and just whip my tasks or get 99 strength with my dragon scimmy.
@@CPTLYNXY yeah thats what i decided to go with, i rounded my melee stats to 80 then just decided to save up for an abyssal dagger and just work on getting strength to 99 first.
one gripe; wish u would have noted prerequisites to certain monster availability. if im not mistaken, some are locked behind quests. for new or returning (after several years) players, this would be quite useful. other than that, thank you.
if you are a member, and you do not have the money for granite hammer, or the slayer level for leaf bladed sword, do NOT use the granite longsword. it is SO much slower. I wasted an hour at rock crabs with super attack/str and only got 31k an hour. with rune scim i got around 50k xp an hour. scims are just too much faster for training. do NOT waste your time with the granite long. it is god awful.
Decent guide. This is more a video on tips and suggestions rather than where to train at specific levels like 1-30 cows 30-40 hill giants etc but good effort.
How efficient do you think controlled whipping from 70-99 is? Could get 3 skills at 99 vs training 1. Sure it takes longer but you dont have to stop and grind each one individually. Anyones thoughts please, i would love to know what you think.
Also its probably only efficent with slayer.. since you can get way more exp with other methods but the slayer helm bonus is good and you can get slayer trained too
True, you could do that. For me personally id rather afk monkfish just because i believe in making gp when I'm training and also is good to grind out graceful did low levels. Sure barb fishing would be more efficient going for 99s but i just think what i just said is better for low levels imo.
@@King-Luffys_Meat yeah you can quest/barb fish till cannifis, get graceful on that course then go back to barb if you wanted.. generally and wc for profit is horrible gp/hour but it can be pretty afk i guess that's why alot of people do it
curious about slayer. you said around 70 combat. but what if i also have a good magic and prayer that might skew the overall combat level? so like if i have 60's in the 3 melee skills would that suffice to start slayer? thanks.
Did all my combat stats with slayer, currently 98 slayer and maxed atk, str, def, HP and along with this i earned around 700m (no cannon used) i recommend this method to anyone that has plans to max anyways, if you are a pker NMZ is the way.

Thanks man, i havent played in years and dont like eoc in rs3 where i have around 1b and lv 137 - i started a new acount on OSRS and am at lv 70 so this was great.
@@HitStick187 if you had a 07 account when rs3 came out they automatically converted your main to rs3. So my main was sadly converted to an rs3 eoc. That is when I quit. Came back 10 months ago and made a rs classic acc. At lv 102 now but havent played in months.
Don't wait to do Slayer until 70 in combat stats. Do slayer and combat together. Yes you might not have great drops, but then you aren't wasting xp either. Slayer takes forever to level up. So waiting longer doesn't help much. Base 40 combat stats is good for starting slayer. Because you will do slayer tasks based on your combat stats. Always use the slayer master that they recommend. Otherwise you'd get stupid task that take 5 minutes to complete and get horrible slayer xp rates.
Yes you should because otherwise it will take for ever, is more efficient and fast first to get 70 combat or 85 with the other methods or afk methods then profitable and much better slay tasq
@@Dr-Homer I beg to differ because at 40 melee stats and using the edgeville slayer master I got to 20 after 1 task. So why wait and do these lower level slayer tasks at higher combat? It doesn't make sense because you'll get horrible slayer tasks at these lower levels. I'm speak from experience that doing slayer at 40 in melee combat stats helps in the later slayer levels to not be stagnant and stall. Thus slayer levels with you very easily. I'm currently 5 slayer tasks in and 35 slayer and 45 combat stats. Thus slayer isn't going to be a grind at the later levers because it's leveling all my will be done specifically through slayer. But to each their own. It's your own game to enjoy and play as you want. I would just find grinding combat stats horrible without doing slayer.
Theo how many kc for abby demon pet? Did you get abby demon head from font of consumption or regular demons? Im 86 slayer already and haven't gotten an abby demon task yet. Also. Do you think its possible to kill the abyssal sire with a 60 attack piety account with 95 str and 91 ranged?
Could've mentioned that obsidian armor, berserker necklace and obsidian sword is just as good, if not better than abyssal dagger/whip, bandos and fury for training. I just spent the better part of 2 weeks saving for bandos and I was very disappointed my max hit didnt increase and I'm pretty sure its LESS accurate. Not that I was actually using this video as a guide, I just feel like new players should know that the 70 mil setup for strictly training outside of slayer.

Fishing trawler is the absolute worst imo
@Villanelle i actually find pest control quite fun tbh
@@killer2434 honestly same, pest control is fun especially when you are a higher level and can drop any monster relatively quick. Feels good being "that guy".
@Villanelle Rogues den is the worst
Tithe farm is the worst

I think you might be confusing "greater than" and "less than" there...
Awesome guide for someone getting back into it!
So much effort and quality as always, respect mate!
6:21 this is backwards, right? how are dragon gloves worse than rune, which is worse than addy?
skillcapes have the same stats as obby capes at 1/8th of the costand offer pray bonus when trimmed, that would have been a good bit to add
grandyman111 did you really need a fucking guide for f2p combat haha
1/8th of the cost.......have you calculated how much gold it takes to get a skill to 99?
@@eurosonly most 99s can be done profitably but with slower rates
99 fletch will make you about 10mill and get a cape
kingk090 ehat method did u use?
That warriors guild intro was sick!
It's only a +1 over the obby chest though.
meaning switching it out is the same as switing out the legs for barrows .
Finally been waiting for this video
I think you accidentally ranked the gloves wrong. You have barrows gloves
OBVIOUSLY
stfu gregory. The >/< signs are a language, and he didn't use them correctly. Barrows gloves are not less than dragon... get educated fool.
one of my favorite to go for cb training is the axe hut near the mage bank in the wildy
what is better the brimstone ring or berserker ring? The berserker ring only has +4 str and +4 crush. As for the brimstone ring it has literally all the same stats with +4 in all offensive and defensive stats. So which ring is considered better. I do understand the berserker ring (i) would be better but that is only if you use nightmare mode.
Brilliant work bud, been watching for a while and this earned my sub and bell. Well done! Australian represent!
This is very nicely edited, mate.
Spooks would like to know this as well
99 str always
@@CPTLYNXY yeah thats what i decided to go with, i rounded my melee stats to 80 then just decided to save up for an abyssal dagger and just work on getting strength to 99 first.
@@sai_rs back in the day I got att str s
Def to 92 then, went for 99 str range and mage
99 str of course
Great video, covers absolutely everything ! Detailed that’s why your the best !!
❤️❤️
Theoatrix OSRS love your videos man !
nice video gave me a good view of the grind
one gripe; wish u would have noted prerequisites to certain monster availability. if im not mistaken, some are locked behind quests. for new or returning (after several years) players, this would be quite useful. other than that, thank you.
Wow this was so well made, I'm kinda nooby but I understood everything, thank you
if you are a member, and you do not have the money for granite hammer, or the slayer level for leaf bladed sword, do NOT use the granite longsword. it is SO much slower.
Thanks for the tips man! I was getting tired of just straight grinding rock crabs lol.
The camera shots are sick, mobile users who r new will appreciate this as well!
Love these guides, so nostalgic
Good shit very good video intelligently put together you deserve more subs
always the best guides, mate. plus that voice is audible chocolateeeee
How efficient do you think controlled whipping from 70-99 is? Could get 3 skills at 99 vs training 1. Sure it takes longer but you dont have to stop and grind each one individually. Anyones thoughts please, i would love to know what you think.
Its extremely macroefficient but i would train str to 70 getting 99 fishing at barb first.. you'll also end up with 70 agility doing that
Also its probably only efficent with slayer.. since you can get way more exp with other methods but the slayer helm bonus is good and you can get slayer trained too
True, you could do that. For me personally id rather afk monkfish just because i believe in making gp when I'm training and also is good to grind out graceful did low levels. Sure barb fishing would be more efficient going for 99s but i just think what i just said is better for low levels imo.
@@King-Luffys_Meat yeah you can quest/barb fish till cannifis, get graceful on that course then go back to barb if you wanted.. generally and wc for profit is horrible gp/hour but it can be pretty afk i guess that's why alot of people do it
...i have some questions about his gear choice at 12:38.
this is crazy i was lookimg for his guide like 3h ago hahaha
curious about slayer. you said around 70 combat. but what if i also have a good magic and prayer that might skew the overall combat level? so like if i have 60's in the 3 melee skills would that suffice to start slayer? thanks.
Did all my combat stats with slayer, currently 98 slayer and maxed atk, str, def, HP and along with this i earned around 700m (no cannon used) i recommend this method to anyone that has plans to max anyways, if you are a pker NMZ is the way.
Did you level with controlled?
@@solomon467 yes all the way
@@Juuk-D, would you do it over again or str first?
@@solomon467 i would do it over again, it's so much better tbh
@@solomon467 i also made 600m from slayer and the combat stats 180k from 99 slayer btw
Theoatrix !!! Keep up the goodwork, big fan of ur vids, good info thanks brother !!
Thanks for another well put together video. I'm a some what new sub. And I'm having a great time on Runescape Mobile thanks to videos like this!
🍷 Here's to hoping you keep it up. Mobiles about to drop for everyone soon. And I have a feeling it will come with a flood of newbies like me.
Edit: Now I feel more confident in buying a longer membership. 60 bucks Isn't a bad deal for 180 days. Do they not have a full year one?
You can buy a year membership on the main runescape website assuming nothing has changed and membership still works on both games.
Well now that OSRS has the premier club you can get a year for only $89.99
That's the douchiest profile pic I've ever seen
Oof it's like 60 euros for a full year rn
Hey Theoatrix. Would you advice for me to use the Zanaris slayer guide? I got 75 combat 62 att 60 str 60 def 61 range 52 mage and 45 prayer. Please reply. I am using vannaka but find the tasks annoying 80% of the time. I get too many wall beasts..
Thanks man, i havent played in years and dont like eoc in rs3 where i have around 1b and lv 137 - i started a new acount on OSRS and am at lv 70 so this was great.
You dont like rs3 but you have a maxed account and 1b? Hmmm
@@HitStick187 if you had a 07 account when rs3 came out they automatically converted your main to rs3. So my main was sadly converted to an rs3 eoc. That is when I quit. Came back 10 months ago and made a rs classic acc. At lv 102 now but havent played in months.
@@Xander112000 let me get that 1b
So should I wait till 70 combat for Slayer? I am 40 right now.
Which order to max for melee? Attack? Strength? Thanks for the helpful videos also!
Fuck yeah! I've been waiting for this. Cheers.
You could've put zeah gangsters for 10 hp players, with a cannon you can get intelligence for combat exp and ranged exp
another good low-mid level one is chaos temple in wildy, decent money and can prayer boost the entire time
Theo how many kc for abby demon pet? Did you get abby demon head from font of consumption or regular demons? Im 86 slayer already and haven't gotten an abby demon task yet.
Also. Do you think its possible to kill the abyssal sire with a 60 attack piety account with 95 str and 91 ranged?
Very well crafted video once again.
