    For any one wondering SCP-2000 is just a reset button for humanity to keep it from going extinct, but it is only deployed if there is no other choice

    imagine the last remnants of humanity finally getting their minds together to create a cure. They celebrate, begin deploying it, and then halfway through the deployment process it just stops doing anything.

    So quick explanation: Memetic hazards are things that you know that can hurt you. Anti-memetic hazards are things that you can be aware of, but can't understand completely, that can hurt you. These are part of a broader category of cognitohazards - things you must not know, otherwise you will be harmed by them or compelled to spread them. Amnestics are things that induce amnesia; they make you forget, which is useful when knowing something allows it to hurt you.
    SCP-3125 is an anti-memetic sentient concept that humans can't understand completely, but just being aware of it allows it influence over you. Essentially, it's an independently-malevolent intrusive thought. The more you contemplate it, the more influence it has over you, until you either die or surrender your will to it. This is where the Fifth Church comes in - they're a religion centered around SCP-3125, who have given their minds over to the contemplation of it and thus are its chief agents in the physical world. As it is sentient itself, it's aware that the SCP Foundation is hostile to it, and thus influences its hosts to counteract the Foundation's efforts to contain it.
    Ignorance of 3125's existence is the only surefire protection against it. As a result, it spreads through things like social media, spoken, and written word, primarily. However, it's capable of affecting the physical world through its hosts, so if a host commits ritual suicide and, say, mutilates their body with images related to 3125, anyone who sees the body learns of the concept and will begin experiencing intrusive thoughts about 3125. However, 3125 also has a physical component; a parasitic pathogen that forms in hosts who are host to its conceptual form. This pathogen can also spread itself among hosts as any parasite might, and when it does, its symptoms trigger contemplation of the memetic portion of 3125's existence. This pathogen is responsible for 3125's physical symptoms.

      Slight edit. Anti-memetics are ideas that delete themselves from your consiousness/mind themselves.
      Like a good example would be ForgetMeNot from X men. basically there are many levels of this, from objects that you can't remember anything about after you stop interacting with it, to ideas that literally you forget the moment you observe them, meaning you can't know of them, they slip out like water

    Hey Pravus I just want to say SCP2000 is a bunker under yellow stone national park that is ment to bring back humanity if it goes extinckt

      @akselbuch Місяць тому +13

      @@thomasriddle7005it’s not really a apocalypse shelter, it’s a massive cloning facility and it’s also basically indestructible since a infinitely higher dimensional being has attacked it only for the facility to merely get slightly damaged.

    • @nerd_nato564
      @nerd_nato564 Місяць тому +4

      @@akselbuchIt's also kind of a reset button that can fix even reality breakdown scenarios, at least in some canons.

    • @akselbuch
      @akselbuch Місяць тому

      @@nerd_nato564 true in some canons it is but if we go only by what is written about it in its article it really is just a extremely high tech cloning facility.

    • @BilbertTheArsonist
      @BilbertTheArsonist 13 днів тому

      a big chunk of the fandom, yes, but SCP itself is objectively amazing, whether you personally like it or not
      I'm not saying you have to be a fan of it, but the fact that a random post from 2007 started a whole art form is amazing, and the fact it shows that anybody can be an artist is just awe-inspiring. I have been massively encouraged by it myself, as it has improved my drawing and writing skills massively, and when I'm bored, I'll find a random tale or skip to read and it's always a treat
      sorry for ranting, I just tend to get mad when someone insults it. SCP is a lot more than Dr. Bright and 096, it's a bucket full of wonderful ideas from a community full of great minds

      @@BilbertTheArsonist I'm not amazed by it. Consequentially, your "objectively amazing" argument has been proven false. Simple as that.

      @@Ankhtowe how has it been proven false?
      edit: you are saying that because you don't prefer it and dislike it means it is not objectively amazing, which is also false. you don't have to like it, I'm just explaining to you why millions of people do
      I'm not arguing anymore because I don't argue with people on the internet for more than 5 comments
