  • Gut health and the microbiome are topics being discussed everywhere. Online searches for the keyword “gut health” reached an all-time high in early 2024, while on social media, the hashtag #guthealth has been viewed over 3 billion times on TikTok.
With all this information circling around, there’s also a lot of misinformation out there. We want to bring science back to the centre of the debate!
This webinar aims to support journalists and science communicators by presenting some of the latest scientific developments on fermented foods and health and arming them with skills and tips for aligning their communication on gut health and the microbiome with the latest science. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and access a pool of scientific experts to quote in their future reporting.
The webinar featured presentations by  Kristina Campbell, science writer and author of Gut Health for Dummies and Rain Kuldjärv, Team Lead at TFTAK, a researcher in the field of fermented foods and functional food development, as well as the author of Fermentation-Plain and Simple.
The Food Facts Network is a platform that facilitates information exchange between researchers and journalists/communicators to achieve better food and nutrition science communication in traditional and social media.  The initiative is led by the European Food Information Council (EUFIC).
