Britpop is alive and kicking, especially if you give the genre a post-punk kick in the ass. Shame sounds like all the heated arguments between Noel and Liam together, finally settled brotherly with a pint of Guinness. Lyrics and riffs have just the right hooligan feel and on stage the five band members look the same as next to them. With the difference that shame transforms many a hall or tent into a pub overflowing with genuine British rock, where Joy Division and The Prodigy also sporadically hang out at the bar.
