Good stuff bud! I just did this to my F30. I used a heat gun to warm up the mirror caps then took an old credit card and slid it up from the center of the housing. I then rocked the credit card back and forth until the cap popped off. Easy peasey and no broken clips. I think the key for F30 people is heat. It allows the plastic clips to be more flexible and less prone to breaking.
You Sir are a star ! I had already changed the RH cap by removing the mirror and as you say it is quite dodgy. I used your method today and completed the job in less than 5 minutes. THANK YOU !!!
Bryan....on all F3x's, F10's, F20's etc the mirror caps literally come off by sliding a credit card under them without having to pop the glass. I've done it on numerous ones. Takes about 2 minutes lol.
Who are three morons that gave this a thumbs down? I have always used this method and it works flawlessly. The idea to use the felt side of the squeegee trim tool is a good one. I used to apply blue tape and use a trim tool. Like this idea better. Thanks.
What should i do if i broke the bottom middle tab on the actual mirror itself. Can i replace that trim piece? Wish this video was out when i did mines last week

i actually used a gift card to pop out my mirror caps on a F32 and no clips broke. It was extremely easy and pulling the mirror wasnt necessary
Do you plan on installing sequential turn signals on this car? Like you did on your F30. Can you install sequential turn signal on this F80?

Pop it from the bottom, very easy just go slow.. This way will damage your factory cover inside lip
