New York's skyline - 100x bigger than this!
But NYC isn't big in size like LA, Oklahoma city, or Jacksonville. Its only big in population
Look at the city lights, they light up as far as the eye can see in every direction. That's one of the many reasons why the skyline isn't as big in LA as NYC plus earthquakes. New York every thing is crammed into a small area.
@MrGriff305 LA has superior real estate to New York, and the skyline looks better. New York is a half-ass Chicago.
@MrGriff305 LA is just as walkable as any other city but its a large spread out city. So you can't just walk everywhere like NYC. You need transportation

yes, NYC is dense, while LA is vast and spreads out, the entire DTLA skyline is like 2 blocks in NYC.
New York is only big in population not size. The entire city of nyc could fit in Houstons inner loop
@MrGriff305 even if you added the metro area Houston is still bigger in land area. And Sitka, Alaska is the largest in the US by land size
@@bonosimic532 DTLA looks much better tho. Especially with its LED lit buildings.
@MrGriff305 it takes 52 minutes just to get from Willowbrook in North Houston to Houston lake in North East Houston and about 58 minutes when it's a lot of traffic. It definitely has a big city feel to it
Los Angeles had a 150 foot height limit on its buildings until 1957. It is late to the skyscraper game, which helps explain why it has so few for a city of its size.
Videos just keep getting even better. That building on the left at 3:36, now LA Center Studio, was originally built in the early 60s for Union Oil. The mainframe room, shorter wing on the left, first floor, is where we spent part of our first date, my wife and I, 33 years ago. Mad Men was filmed in part here. The office scenes were filmed in this same building with much of the original interior decoration. You can see the interior of their lobby and some offices in many other TV productions. Thanks for the memories.

The new Korean Airlines bldg is impressive but I'm not sure the developers are getting the most bang for the buck because even though it's now the tallest building in the West it doesn't really stand out from the rest of the skyline. It's kind of hidden when you're driving into downtown. The U.S. Bank building is still the most prominent one when looking at downtown from a distance.

nocturnal beatuty, LA is indeed the city of angels. unreal beauty, especially looking from pesrpective germany. over here colors are grey and antracite and everything is doomy gloomy and filthy mostly.

It is interesting that not many of the buildings in LA are decorated with colourful LED lights at night. Look at some Asian cities such as Bangkok and Hong Kong and see how beautifully the buildings are transformed at night by LED lighting.
They have the colorful light on only sometimes.
Yea LA is bland, old politicians don't like spending money on those things.
