Myslivecek was a bohemian composer who worked mainly in Italy. He was a
friend of Mozart, and their styles are quite close to each other. This concerto is gracefully written, perfectly suited to the instrument. The balance between soloist and orchestra is fairly kept.

Beautiful concerto, especially the slow mov'nt; nothing less to expect from Myslivecek, the Bohemian "Il Boemo" and the soloist Ishikawa "Il Divino" accompanied by a group of Il Boemo's from the Czech Republic. And how tastefully done cadenzas in line with the music instead of crazy "technically virtuosic" cadenzas often heard by others out of musical context - thank you Ms Ishikawa for choosing to perform Myslivecek and Bohemian music. And thank you, harpsichordVal, for posting this gem of music!

I like all of Mysliveček's violin concertos, but this one the most. It has a wonderful second movement, and the third movement, in the form of a brisk minuet, is faultless. Ms. Ishikawa's interpretation is excellent. The cadenzas of František Xaver Thuri (1939-2019 "the last composer of the 18th century") deserve attention in all Mysliveček's concerts, especially in this concert they are exceptionally successful. It is a pity that we only have sheet music for two of these concerts (C major and F major)
