Filipina pea I have a question. I notice a lot of Filipinas in the Philippines are single mothers especially at a very young age starting at 18. Many marry come to the states or other countries as single moms. I met a lot in the states. Why does that happen a lot there especially at a young age?
The 'perfect, uncreased, unmarked notes' thing is an issue in Indonesia, too. I got quite good at cleaning and ironing USD100 notes ! The most plausible explanation I got was that forgers will often crunch, wash etc, phony notes so that they can claim that is why they don't look right. So banks started only taking perfect notes, and everyone else copied them.

I just came home from boracay where I met my beautiful amazing filipina... and I owe that one to you and your channel... thank you pea... my vacation was amazing and my fiancée is the love of my life.❤
The Philippines has always been an incredible place, when I was a little boy in subic bay from 1981-1984 and as a man in 2019, 2022, and soon in 2024. The Philippines is like food for the soul no joke
😂😂 that's awesome you returned. I was stationed in Subic in the 80s...have been back almost yearly for months long visits throughout the country since. Truly a beautiful country with OUTSTANDING citizens!!!
Have to say I envy you! Being able to experience life there as a youngster must have been incredible!! 1k better than Disney! I lnow As a young man it was beautifully eye opening. Hope your future visits are great!!
My first visit to the Philippines I enjoyed it so well that I ended up living there for the year. Now I’m about two years away from being able to move there again permanently.
Even better pro travel trip: scan your passport pages and email them to yourself. You’ll be able to access it anywhere in the world, even if robbed of everything you own, fire, accident, etc. Also, instead of just a copy. Laminate the copy and your itinerary. Rains a lot in PH. Love your vids Pea and some great tips. Keep up the good work! ❤🥰 I’ve been diving and snorkeling across Visayas region. Absolutely beautiful. Need to come back. 🤔
That is what I do, email as well as laminate the hard copy. Also I have a laminated copy of my address in both USA and Australia (dual citizen) as well as my Philippine cell #. It came in handy when my bag got lost and proving it was mine when found (3 days later). As I told them at the time when arriving to pick it up " If you look inside, you will see a laminated copy of both passports and another with my address and Philippine cell # that you rang me on. Chances are it is my bag " 😂)
After a year and half of watching and following my plan, I’m finally making my first trip! August 10, 2024! Cebu and other points of interest, here i come! Thank you Pea for validating what I’ve learned ! Peace ☮️
Just got back from Baguio ,its in the 70s and cooler at night because its 4000 ft above sea level .. But its got some negative like youre in the clouds a lot with rain and fog, you must deal with a long winding road to get up there and the city is way over crowded with tourist traffic crawling bumper to bumper all day on hilly narrow winding streets, about the only thing i liked besides the cooler weather was it has a nice big modern mall unlike everything else in that area, which has the typical run down Philippine 3rd world motif
I'm looking forward to my first visit to the Philippines at the end of July to beginning of August. Flight is from Ohio to O'Hare to Hong Kong and finally Manila. Almost 28 hours from beginning to end. My Filipina is to be there in Manila waiting on me as she does not trust other filipinas of the area. She has said that everything is planned and taken care of. I will be meeting the lady I've talked with for 3 1/2 years and her daughter. I'm looking forward to meeting her and her daughter plus learning as much as I can about your culture. I have to say that I enjoy this video the most for my preparation in visiting the Philippines. Thank You very much for your videos and teaching the rest of us about you and your culture.
Pea: Anyone traveling without thinking about what they need to prepare before going anywhere, is just really asking for a bottomless pit to throw their hard earned money into. When traveling to any destination, a few short hours of preparation can possibly save the amount of Preparation H needed to sooth the pain in the butt from not being completely aware of where you are getting into. "Knowledge is Power", and this video arms viewers with that power to inform themselves on many things to prepare for. Great information Pea, and keep up the great work!
Hi Pea , been to the Philippines dozens of times. Married a Filipina and took her to USA for a loooong time. Been living here for almost 4 years this time. About to get my 13A . Don’t want to have to leave for 24 hours every 3 years anymore.
@@TheFilipinaPea and I'm going through the worst airport in Philippines four times 😅 On arrival, when going to Dumaguete the next day, on my way back from Dumaguete and when leaving the next day. Pray for me 😭🙏🏻
Nice part of flying to Cebu from Australia is you can fly on a full service airline (I fly Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong) and it makes the journey quite comfortable.
I have been to the Manila airport over 20 times and have never had a major problem. I have been to the Cebu airport twice and both times were a total fiasco and have avoided it since then. Goes to show you that timing is everything.
@@jstoli996c4s It was jammed up with so many people. Once it was a 2 hours just to get out of the airport into the city. Something really incredible happened once while we were there. We ran into someone we knew in a small town (less than 200 people) in Indiana! Small world indeed.
Been back and forth from The UK 9 times on vacations in The Philippines since 2008 no problem whatsoever only been caught up in one dangerous situation, a wild ferry crossing during a typhoon way back in 2013 returning Bantayan Island back to Cebu 😅🤣😅 with my ex fiancée'. That was the only time I thought OMG I might die in Paradise Islands of The Philippines,🏝🏝 all funny now but not so funny back then 😅

Pea, I have been several times to see my wife over the past year. I agree, Cebu is my favorite arrival and departure airport. Most importantly, be patient. The Philippines runs on it's own time. Don't get upset when lines, grab taxis, restaurants don't move at the pace you want. The Filipino people are some of the most welcoming and friendly people I have ever met. Remember, take a deep breath, sit back and relax. Tourists will have a great time visiting the Philippines.
Pea you have been my go to guide to the Philippines for years now. I'm finally going in September. I've met a beautiful Filipina. And I'm going to meet in person for the first time. Thank you so much for everything that you do.
As a 22yr old man who is leaving America for the first time to meet a wonderful woman from the provinces, this is a helpful video for a guy whose flight is in 3 days. As always, I appreciate the informational videos Pea! 😃
I'm retiring next summer. Plan to move to the PI in Nov '25. Spent time in Subic, back in the day. Wanting a soft landing. Been focusing on Bohol, Dumaguete, and Cebu. I'm a scuba diver and want to live that life. Love your channel!
I already went for my first time a year and a half ago, and I did everything wrong (and still had the best vacation I ever had)! What I need is a “complete guide to your second visit”. 😉
Hi Miss Pea. In April I traveled solo from Seattle to Cebu. It was my first time going. The entire trip for 8 days (air, hotel, cash, transportation, and a pet sitter) costed me $3200 USD. I flew into Manila and it was fine.
I enjoy the Philippines and love taking the bus to the rural areas. As a businessman in America the stress reduction of the bucket showers and simplistic lifestyles outside the city's is a breathe of fresh air. I do love the food in the city's. Filipino people can barbque too!!! Overall it's a great place to chill and have fun. The people always treat me very well. I am a big tipper also!!

My friends wife is from there, we’re planning a trip around July next year, I’m so ready and looking forward to it! I’ve watched a few of your videos and now have more of an idea for my trip. Everyone has recommended I go to Siargao I hope it’s as beautiful as they say.
My brother and I came to visit the Philippines May 1 through May 15 of this year 2024. It was a lot because of your videos and old dog new trick videos. It was the greatest experience of my life. We use the PRC Philippine retirement, mentors, and guides to show us around South Cebu but I want to thank you for all the videos you’ve done
I met my Filipina wife 17 years ago in the Philippines, we've been happily married every since and now living in Canada. But I remember certain things on that first visit such as the thousands of electrical lines sprawling across streets. Never seen anything like that in my life. And some of the cars driving with no lights on (I later was told it was because they could not afford new ones). And armed guards in the McDonald's restaurants (who wants to steal a Big Mac? lol). And everywhere I went, people would yell at me "hey Joe!" (my name also happens to be Joe). I wondered how the hell they knew my name! haha. I've been there 26 times now so I have got used to everything!
I learned the hard way about Manila and got to Cebu! That is exactly right! Sunscreen is essential! I’ve even gotten new SIM cards on the flight ✈️ in! Your advice is perfect 👍 Thank you 🙏 very much!
One thing I wanted to mention going from America to the Philippines is the customs card you have to fill when is pass in the plane is always a good idea to have a address for where you staying, Iike a hotel address 👍
They don't pass those out any more, at least not on my last few trips. They expect you to do the etravel card on the Internet. But yes, have the address of your hotel. My most recent trip I came to marry my girlfriend. I sent her money and she got an apartment for us just before I arrived. So when they asked where I'd be saying, it was like, "I'll be staying at my apartment ... that I haven't seen yet."
I’ll be finally taking my first trip to the PH later this year or early next year depending on how quickly I can get things wrapped up here in the USA. Or all the people doing videos on the Phils, yours are by far the most useful for us newbies looking to broaden our horizons. You’re the best Pea!

Still my first visit to the Philippines. I'm 7 months in but it's still my first trip. Pea refuses to come meet me in Mindoro but I still watch her videos
Honestly put yourself in her position and it would be extremely awkward for one of your subscribers to invite you out. Hello Ms Pea. My first trip to the Philippines was with two mates, I was only staying for one week, they for two. On my day of departure 12 June 1991, I was in Angeles City, booked out of my room when Mt Pinatubo erupted. I got nowhere fast. Even if I was in Manila, the eruption close MIA. Anyway, I managed to get to Manila the following day and was stuck there for a further eight days. When they opened MIA my mates still had seats on their return flight but I had to wait until a vacancy occurred. Like you said, unexpected things can happen. You give good advice to first timers. CEBU used to be a bit rough, but now they have a great terminal and appears to be quite efficient. Looking forward to your next video. Oh, by the way, I have been married to my Filipina wife now for 32 years.
The Filipino Pea Your content is excellent Thank you so much for giving us all the information that we need at least bring in 500. For every week you'll be in the Philippines. It's very important how to count pesos. That's very important too. Make sure we bring straight bills that they can read. That's very important. No one where the stay is in port as well, so brings some earphones. It's very important to know your surroundings. And respect culture. It will be a honor to come to the Philippines. I'm gonna love this trip one of my favorite best trips ever in my life. I will see you oneverybody have a great. My name is cedric nash Your number one fan🎉
I love the Philippines and can’t wait to visit again. I am hoping to be back in June 2025. If coming from Australia, Cebu Airlines is the cheapest and pretty good. You are giving great advice Pea. There are pros and cons for going to any destination, however, if you are aware of any possible issues in the Philippines, traveling there is a rewarding and wonderful experience.
I went through Manila easily, loved my accommodation, rooftop pool, restaurant. Everyone's experience is different, I navigated my way on my own. Didn't want to be highjacked by a filipina.... plenty of time for that! Visited Cebu, Dumaguete, aas great, i really soaked up the culture, it changed me. Definitely going back, I'm not comfortably back home now.
Okay Pea! I am heading your way for three weeks with no plans other than the first couple of nights. I did decide to stay in Manila for the first few days. I can walk from the airport directly to a decent hotel.
I highly recommend getting to know someone who lives or has lived in the Philippines before flying to Manila. Be sure to check out as many islands as you can or at least get out of metro Manila because every island is a little different.
You must be reading my mind. Yesterday I was wondering what do i need to do to plan my first trip to the Philippines. When I got from playing pickleball I sat down to rest and turned on UA-cam and saw this video. Great video. Keep up the great work. Thanks.
This video was very helpful... As usual your content is awesome.. don't be afraid to expand out to other topics you are always entertaining and informative
Was there in the very early 80's And planning a future vacation soon. Within the next year. I want to vist all the old Spanish historical cities. And see Mnt. Mayan. Cant wait!
Im here in the Philippines now and i checked all the boxes mentioned in the video. Presently vacationing in siargao for a weekend. I must say that meeting a nice women is more of a challenge than expected but definitely not impossible. The “shyness” makes approaching them feel a little weird. But they can be very friendly.
Mactan-Cebu International Airport has been great for me to fly in/out of. It’s also a great central point for further travel in the Philippines 🇵🇭 And yes, the heat and humidity in PH is no joke, especially for northerners 🥵
Lots of great advice as always Pea, the newbies will definitely benefit from it. My Philippines vacations started at two weeks, progressed to two months and now to six months….I can see where this is heading 😊
Miss Pea, I've flown into both Cebu and Manila. I've never had a problem with any lines or missing baggage. I have used Korean Air, EVA Air, and United Airlines. That being said, airfare is actually cheaper landing in Manila than in Cebu or Davao. I then buy separate tickets to Cebu or Tacloban. Keep in mind that handicap accessibility at Cebu and other outlaying airports is often limited. In other words, you may have to use the stairs to board and exit the airplane because there may not be any jetway available.
Pea I went to Mindanao, an hour away from Davao, Pea I loved Jollibees, but to be honest there is ONE thing that prevents me from moving there, it's the HEAT... When I went there Dutuerte was president and I messaged him to lower the therestat but he wasn't able to do it.... Pea I don't want to melt over there.... Thank you for your time and attention on this very important message. Salamat.
I stayed in Iloilo city for a month and everything you are saying is exactly what I did. I had a stress, free, relaxing vacation… And I didn’t want to leave. I am definitely going back. I just don’t know which city I want to go to maybe … Dumagete😂
My first trip I took a van in Leyte to my resort. I booked months in advance I was dropped off on the side of the main road to find the resort closed lol I got a crash course on the pay WiFi to find another resort. When things go wrong keep your temper under control the people in the pi are very helpful
I've visited the Philippines twice in my life. Luzon to the mountains of Abra Mataragan, Malibcong, to Vigan to Bangued. Then Cebu where I visited Argao. I really love the Philippines 🇵🇭 My Fiance lives there. And she is my most favorite place to be there. Right in her arms. ❤❤❤
In her UA-cam video, Pea addresses her viewers who are curious about visiting the Philippines but may be hesitant due to various concerns. He acknowledges that many people who watch her channel have never traveled internationally and might be anxious about the logistics and safety of such a trip. Pea aims to provide a comprehensive guide, covering essential aspects like what to bring, where to stay, how to get around, and general safety tips. He advises on budgeting, suggesting $500 per week for a trip, and emphasizes the importance of having cash reserves and being aware of local banking practices. Pea also highlights the ease of entry for Western tourists, who typically only need a passport and a return ticket for a visa-free stay of up to 30 days. He advises making photocopies of important documents and recommends flying into Cebu instead of Manila to avoid the hassles of a poorly rated airport. Practical tips include bringing a good supply of small denomination bills, packing light and appropriate clothing for the hot climate, and avoiding street food and tap water to prevent gastrointestinal issues. He also suggests getting a local SIM card for communication and being prepared with a voltage adapter for electronics. Overall, Pea provides a well-rounded, practical checklist to help potential travelers feel more comfortable and prepared for their adventure in the Philippines.
I've been to Manila airport 8 times, when flying home to LAX instead of sitting in the hard chairs at the gate, I get a massage and they always say when they finish the massage, sir you can rest here till your plane is boarding, we'll let you know. The last time I was in Manila was 2008, hopefully that service is still available.
Great video for the first timer. I'll be coming back in the fall for a bit longer stay. I started with 2 week visits, then went to a month visit, the last time was 3 months. It helps having a Filipina for a wife. She has a bank account (money transfer) there and we stay with her parents. But we travel around and stay in hotels and take local transportation. She does that part (easier) for getting us around. As for the money, remember $10,000.00, but, if you split money up more than $10k, that's structuring and possible money smuggling and a trip to the "back room" to have your bags "dumped" looking for more (not pleasant). But the most important thing....planning, planning, planning. And watching your videos too. Look and ask for help, everyone is different. But a great time awaits you in the Philippines when you get there. Relax and let everything flow. Spot on Ms Pea!
I have been coming to the paradise of the Philippines since 2001 and am currently living at Libmanan with a very good Filipino who are all university graduates and have there own homes and cars.
In Philippines with my girl right now. I can't even imagine living in the west again.
Funny that, no one here misses you very much.
I’ve been diving and snorkeling across Visayas region.

If you see this when there, what's the weather like?? I hate hot weather so I''ve been hesitant to visit
@joeyvgang let me tell you. It's hot. It's always hot. It's the Philippines. Unless you're somewhere like Baguio it's going to be hot
@@joeyvganggo to Baguio
That’s the coldest place in the whole country
Just got back from Baguio ,its in the 70s and cooler at night because its 4000 ft above sea level .. But its got some negative like youre in the clouds a lot with rain and fog, you must deal with a long winding road to get up there and the city is way over crowded with tourist traffic crawling bumper to bumper all day on hilly narrow winding streets, about the only thing i liked besides the cooler weather was it has a nice big modern mall unlike everything else in that area, which has the typical run down Philippine 3rd world motif
Safe travels my friend. I may be visiting the Philippines for the first time ever this September. Cebu.
5 years now...the adventure continues!

Pea:
Anyone traveling without thinking about what they need to prepare before going anywhere, is just really asking for a bottomless pit to throw their hard earned money into.

Nice part of flying to Cebu from Australia is you can fly on a full service airline (I fly Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong) and it makes the journey quite comfortable.
@kerrymcdonagh1327 what sort of flight path is that?

Or from Mactan to Changi / Singapore using Scoot which belongs to Singapore Airlines as a hassle-free gateway to Europe 😊🛫
I have been to the Manila airport over 20 times and have never had a major problem. I have been to the Cebu airport twice and both times were a total fiasco and have avoided it since then. Goes to show you that timing is everything.
Just curious, what problems did you have at Cebu? I’ve flown in there twice and don’t recall any major issues.

As always great video. I arrive Aug 18! Glad you mentioned sun screen as being expensive! On my list now.
I’ll be finally taking my first trip to the PH later this year or early next year depending on how quickly I can get things wrapped up here in the USA. Or all the people doing videos on the Phils, yours are by far the most useful for us newbies looking to broaden our horizons. You’re the best Pea!

I fly into Cebu. She’s giving great advice.
Pea I went to Mindanao, an hour away from Davao, Pea I loved Jollibees, but to be honest there is ONE thing that prevents me from moving there, it's the HEAT... Serendipity. I just committed myself, to come to the Philippines, and of course the logistics list hit me. That's Pea!
Good topic. Give Pea a 👍 guys.
Motorcycle
