I was listening to some reggae tunes here on UA-cam and I found myself on that classic oldschool video of you guys playing "What I know" in IV and as I was scrolling down the related videos I saw your acoustic solo version of the same song so I clicked on it and then I clicked on your profile and you got more Rebelution classics jammin acoustic!! I was a freshman in highscool at Carpinteria High in 2009 and I'll never forget the first song I heard was Running. My sister would jam that full blast while shed be taking a shower upstairs and id be downstairs and I just remember how unique all those songs were you guys made on Courage to Grow. I had never really heard a type of reggae like that. And you guys were local going to school which made it even more better. That album is a Legendary Album and there will never be another Reb album that can even come close to topping Courage! That album and most of the songs you wrote on it changed and shaped my life and influenced the way I structured myself until I graduated. You have real unique talent that went sooo underated man! Hey man, I remember my brother putting me on to this back in 2009 or so when he was 17 and I was around 6. we both grew up in Santa Barbara, and he would take care of me during the summers while my parents worked, teaching me to play disc golf and going to the beach, always playing og rebelution and iration through our blown out Volvo 240 sedan speakers. He’s living in Boston now, and I’m in the PNW, but this song always reminds me of those sweeter simpler times. I’ve been listening to it ever since w/ the mp3 file I had downloaded on my iPod nano, but I’ve always been bummed that things couldn’t work out w/ the band. This song is quite possibly the most beautiful song I’ll ever know! Thanks for sharing some of your love through the music! This is the first song my husband ever sang to me😍 I’ve been wondering why the heck it never pops up when I’m listening to rebelution anymore and when I went to a rebelution concert a couple months ago I was wanting to hear it and realized you must have the royalties to that song. It’s one of the main songs that Introduced me to reggae and now this is all I listen to. I always loved listening to your voice on courage to grow. You still sound AMAZING. Peace and love to you🤙🏼

My first night in IV as a freshman at UCSB rebelution played at the dolphin house... the parking lot of the apt complex 2007... i remember having THAT moment like "this is where im meant to be, i chose the right place" Your music sums up my 4 amazing years and the friendships I made.

That being said, there have been songs on the following albums that sound similar to the writing style of the songs that you sang on. I always hoped that even though you were no longer in the band, you were maybe still writing songs and giving them to the band lol Then Lay My Claim comes along, and the lyrics that talks about "avoiding the spotlight and creating material but letting someone else be the talent for it", that made me feel that it really was you behind some of these other tunes, including Lay My Claim. Im just a fan who was starry eyed and hopeful because I realized that all my favorite songs from courage to grow were sung by you. Thanks for reaching out.
