Future Utopia - Don't Try This At Home

‘We started playing ‘Don’t Try This At Home’ over the summer festival shows last year - and it was the first song I’d written after we’d released ‘Django’s High’… it was an experiment, and it went down really well all over the country and in Holland and Belgium. Me, Molly and Sweetstix got into the studio shortly after and worked on it so we could release it - and here it is. We call it ‘Psych Disco’ - I’ve always listened to early 2000’s French DJ’s… so there’s some influence there… Break dry Jan, pour yourself a large Aperol Spritz and have a little dance round the kitchen… Big big ups to my team at 70Hz, Sarah, Rob, Angie and Neale, Your Army, MBC PR, Songular and The Orchard for your unwavering support and expertise…! always excited for new music from future utopia! this is very good, i might say i do prefer the tracks from django's high-- i do like the guitar a bit more up front in the mix.. that said, there is a nice dreaminess to this track that really works. the video captures the feeling i get to want to groove, however awful at that i am, when listening to future utopia. have only watched once, but what a beautiful color pallet, nice nostalgic ambience, and genuinely pleasant and joyful 'actors' or whatever the term for the beautiful people we see dancing! why isn't this band huge!?
