the game servers weren't shut down, you just can't upload levels anymore however, the game servers WILL shut down in early april 2024 (along with the servers for every other 3ds and wii u game)

Since i selled my Wii U back in 2019, around the time where SMM2 was comming on Switch. It was kinda sad to miss this version of SMM game... 😔 BTW, i've got the 3DS port, which is the same thing but for my New Blue Nintendo 2DS. That i got back in 2018... 😅
Whether they shutdown or not it really makes no absolute difference to me i have the game and i will continue to play it whether i have or dont have servers in there since i play solo all the time yeah ok if anyone joins ill accept other than that solo forever for me in there
