My scooter is such a rough ride and my city streets are crap. I’m always off-roading even when on the road. 😅
Whole world seems that way nowadays. Brutal and then add in 90 degree heat.
The 2024 models only have red and silver options in the U.S. And I think the drum brake on the back was added to save on costs for the U.S. market. The over seas models have front and back disk brakes.
It’s very helpful to hear the benefits and drawbacks of using this bike for deliveries. Gonna try to look at one in person soon. Thanks
@@SB-dm6pb I tried lol
Your scooter reviews are great man. especially when you call the horn "the honk". I love it!
If your scooter handlebar is covered with plastic, you can remove the plastic.
Thats what I did with my Honda Reflex.
Hey Wilcer... I enjoy your videos. You do a really composed stream of consciousness narration with few flaws.
I just bought one of these, last week. The first few miles, it seemed like the suspension was super firm. And I wondered, did my 67-year-old brain just make a mistake? Seems to be getting a lot more supple with a few miles. I'm up to 100 now. It was an end of the year 2024 and it had been sitting on the showroom floor for a while. So, who knows? Bottom line, it's a blast to ride and a breeze to park. A few hundred off of MSRP, delivery and setup, tax and documentation/licensing in Washington state, $5800 out the door.
I saw that the red is going to be replaced by some sort of blue matte color. I've seen a few and in some, it looks maybe ok. I like its red color as is and bought a helmet to kinda match.
Wilcer, iyour lane splitting footage terrifies me. I can see moseying through in gridlock, but weaving through moving traffic is something I just can't or don't want to do. Be careful!
If you look up ADV 160 clips from Asia, the rear brake is an ABS disk and the price is so much lower than here. From what I've read, these scooters were designed and are now being built in Thailand. And so, it makes sense that freight costs would be lower. My truth is that I seldom used the rear disk brakes on the bikes i owned before this. The drum is a parking brake one way or another and that's fine.
All that said, 90+% of the time, I just use the rear brake as a parking brake or to keep from rolling backwards when facing uphill at a stoplight.
Leaving the left lever alone was the hardest adjustment to make transitioning from manual transmission motorcycles to a scooter.
Be safe!
The major goal for my next ride is a suspension that laughs at potholes and those deeply sunk manhole covers.
In the meantime before I can afford that I will look at upgrades for my current pig of a scooter.
I've heard mixed reviews on YSS shocks but I think there are some pricey ones in Italy that should be worth it hopefully.
Two reasons I don't use my center stand - it takes a lot of effort to raise it and the side stand keeps the scooter almost completely flat ( you have to be careful to park on the correct side of a hill ).
You don't hit the Prius the Prius hits you. lol.
Maxi scooters are more sport styled and awful for putting a rack on especially the way you incorporate the rear seat. The seat typically has a steep rake too. Mine doesn't but then the rack has an integrated backrest so I will have to fabricate one and the mounting point is raked too so it won't be easy. Maxi scooters have power but not much else going for them. Suspensions aren't even that good.
I can only dream of an ADV160 right now. lol.
My boy wilcer upgraded! nice!!
thank you for the review. do you have a video installing the screen for carplay?
Cool vid bro, where did you get the rack on this vid plus the clamps? I'm trying to get into this business lol
Excellent review , am looking into buying one. Do you have a link to the Navigator you use and does it have sound/speakers etc
What GPS is that?! I like it. I had the Yamaha Zuma, I could never get it over 53mph
Where did you get the bracket and the food holder.
How do you carry drinks
Thanks for all you do
GArry , Raleigh NC
hey william, queremos un nuevo video actualizado de todo tu setup... casco, camara, microfono, accesorios, guantes, TODO..!! hahaha saludos
Ok pronto
I love the front look. Looks mean.
I ride the adv 150 same color 2023 / already put 18,000 miles on it I love it , I put some hooks on the handle bar and you can carry the door dash bag on it I use those hooks every day. Enjoy your new ride
How does it perform after 18,000 miles?
@@wilcerit’s just as new runs beautiful
I made a video to show you how I have it set up how can I send it to you?
@@jorgelebron1820 awesome. Yeah send me a link? Or just msg me on Instagram? @wilcerLA
As an ex street motorcyclist who crashed, I know cars are a major hazard mostly out of your control. And you know cyclists are harder to see. So if I was you, I'd consider putting the rear rack (and food box) behind you, and raising the brake light as necessary. This may be a difficult move. But, you would likely then have much better rear sight behind you, and w/ the brake light higher, that would be seen further away / when navigating in valleys. Sure, you have side mirrors, but if you think about it, so do cars, yet they ALSO have a rearview mirror. I'd also rethink the option of splitting lanes. Yes, it's usually safe, as cars do not normally move into a lane that is full. But that's only when they see you, and bikes are a smaller obstruction, so cars do not see cycles as easy on the side. Also, cars often move over into a "faster" lane. They also sometimes open their doors, or drive between 2 cars from other streets, and you can crash into their side.
The ADV 160 is in the category of “Maxi-Scooter”…that’s why it’s bigger than average. I’ve always wanted the Honda PCX 150 (the little brother to what you have) 🏍️, but I’m 5’5” and it weighs too much for me @ (nearly 300lbs). That “mid-step” is a deal breaker for me! I need my step-thru to be floorboard level (like the Yamaha SMAX). So the Ruckus is probably more my speed size wise. You totally forgot to mention the nice 35L of under seat storage that you get!
I did forger the under seat storage! I'll mention it on my next video.
@@wilcer Coo. Your Packir 140Z has a reflective strip on the rear, mine doesn’t….is that custom? 🤔
@@ROBB_DEEP it comes with it
@@wilcer Dang, mine didn’t. I also wish that the PK-140Z was top loading like the PK-92V in addition to the rear access.
@@ROBB_DEEP you prob have a diff model then
So I’m not gonna do it as far as I know but I think a supercar would be good for food delivery vehicle as well that I bought used with 9 miles on it for $3300. It doesn’t have quite as much top speed but it comes pretty close to speeds around 50 to 55.
Please review Honda px250 😊!!
I have seen single tire trailers that people use for moto camping. That may work great for bottled waters. Should not affect lane splitting. Congrats
Never thought of that. But it's too much space for only using it a few times
get a x1 or x3 u lock those steering locks won't do much easy to snap off
Everwhere else gets rear disk
US gets drum rears
You can mod it to disk
We can't have nice things
Would be silly to choose a traditional bike with gears for delivery, regular bikes are also much hotter in with engine exposed near your legs, it doesn't matter how good you are how used to shifting gears is never going be more efficient than a cvt automatic transmission, automatic are faster overall, a 160cc bike with manual transmission won't ever be as fast as 160cc automatic
Great point. And. I agree.
Does the 160 have the brake set up that applies braking power to both front and back brakes by pulling only back brake?
If I were you I will leave it. The color it is at the moment. So people can see you. 60% of bike is black already.😊 People in cars and trucks need to see you, at all times 😮!! especially at night. Don't change nothing, okay. You Don't Need All Your Bikes Black Anyway! 🤣 😂 🤣 👍 😅 Be safe out there BRO! 😇
You're right. I mean the red is growing on me. Looks good. I might keep it
Mini Akira Bike
really nice bike wiliam cervantes AKA "all things food delivery" i looked at those hard before i bought my 2009 Piaggio "VESPA" bv250. I got it 2.5 months ago I have 10k miles on it great bike But Hondas you cant go wrong. go get that hustle.
I do mobile scooter mechanic between deliveries I carry all my tools on the bike. Scooter repair pays WAAAAAY better. That adv 350 would be SIIIIIIIIIIIIk
I had to learn how to fix my bikes after tens of thousands of miles so i started placing business cards on all the scooters I see parked. now i make almost as much from repairing scooters as food delivery all things
Vespas are dope
They have a black color bro but you have order it and wait for a few month. Maybe month or more
Damn I didn't know today! I couldn't wait anyway lol
Black is now available on the 2025 models
You're still my hero
I like the bike. It cost $6000, is there a reason you didnt get a beater car for deliveries instead?
1000s of reasons $$$$$$$! Lol bike is 10 or 20xtimes cheaper to maintain and much easier to maneuvering in city splitting lanes, list of reasons cars suck goes on and on😅
Joseph is right.
GAS is major for one...
Different for everyone but insurance savings too. Kind of a $20 vs $200 a month on upkeep type situation all around.
My beater is breaking down every other week doing deliveries… gets frustrating.. I’m trading in on a bike or trike next year… I’m sick of the ‘oh what’s that strange noise I sure hope she gets me home’ sensation and being in the garage.
Bike looks nice
I could see you doing like camping with honda trail 😮😮😮
@@MasterNooddle definitely going to do that soon
I love the front. Looks mean.
Why do people make a big deal out of rear drum brakes? Rear drum brakes work very well, the only difference is the rear drum brake shoes take just a little longer to change than rear disk brake pads, that's all. But as far as functionality goes rear drum brakes work just fine.
Beautiful, in Belgium Brussels, impossible to buy it! 140 kgs weights for mu 70 years old, it must be magic!!!! My DCT 700 D 2013=240 kgs?
Honda, please import-it for Begium aged people who's love bike. The Brussels good move plan is specialy for the ADV 160 Scooter, and delivery express food. Thank you for your speach again!
Pierre de Bruxelles vendredi 08 novembre 2024
Only about 18,000 deliveries geeez! Haha. Also never realized until now but the ADV gives me Akira vibes at some angles.
I don’t like the wireless keyfob wonder if that can be modded to take a normal key.
Should’ve gotten an Smax
Didn't even know about it lol
I saw one vid where they show front suspension to be a little soft, the guy was 6 feet tall and 200 pounds so maybe thats no issue for you. That no step through center blows that's the reason i didn't upgrade. also, you need to start using more back brake. Watch Asian scooter accidents on UA-cam you will see lots of people thrown over handlebars and scooters flipping over on top of them. They have same set up you have. Massive front stopping power and good braking on back. Grab your front brake hard and have bike flip over and F you up. I just turned over 11,000 miles on my 2019 Zume 125. Your Sacramento video with no people downtown on Saturday, they are government employees and don't work on weekends. Hit it on a weekday and clean up.
The step through should be lower for us older folks. I bought a used silverwing .
Not first but first to say first!!!
Out the door price?
6k
Musta got that accessory platform. The bag isn’t on the seat.
If the backpack isn't on the seat and out on the accessory platform, i can't and shouldnt put much weight on it and it shakes way too much. When it's close to my back it's the opposite, it can handle more weight and is super stable
abs is anti-lock braking system, not anti braking system.
Thank you!
Honda motorbikes are very reliable, but their automobiles with automatic transmissions don't last as long as a Toyota automatic transmission. If you have a standard manual transmission in a 4 cylinder Honda car that doesn't have the Earth Dreams engine then the car will last 400k+ miles.
👍🏻
Sorry that you live in California California sucks all the booty. It’s a terrible state. It’s the epitome of a nanny state my state is a very close second to it and my state in California are giant garbage fires. With government overreach and regulation of our backsides it’s awesome. And California is the most expensive state to live in so you pay the most taxes and get the least benefits. It’s just the best. Why anybody would ever move to California? I don’t know, but if you were born there and you have roots there, I see how it can be difficult to get out. And I wish you the best of luck because California also really wants all of their citizens to be homeless and they’re doing their best to achieve this through extremely high taxation because they figure the more they tax their citizens the more likely they are to be homeless because California loves homeless people And despite the fact that most people don’t willingly want to be homeless, California has decided that is the best way for people to live. So like I said, I wish you the best of luck.
Hey, Wilcer
In your state, on the worst day do you make 120-200 a day or is it more like 60-90 day?
Also if you choose to work 7 days a week, 12 hours straight would be able to make at least 10,000 a month?
Yeah 120-200 on a bad day 300+ are good days
@@wilcer Thanks for the answer
That still sounds promising, more than good
How about if you go full time, can you make up to 10K a month? I know for sure that in the beginning of covid, people did more than that.
Here we gooooo🛵 best of luck bro 👍
