Thank you so much FEE! I want you to know your points are not lost on me and I can't thank you enough for the priceless wisdom and ideals you put into every one of your videos. I'm a big hard man and you brought me to tears so many times "YES!!!!!!!". I pray that all of my brothers and sisters watching this fully understand and pass on these seeds of truths into this empire of lies. Ideas are bulletproof. Keep shining light into the darkness my friends.
I'll be honest, this one felt like you were circling around your points rather than fully relating it to what you actually mean in regards to the movie, especially in regards to Cyborg. You went off way too long on Aquaman an individualism, when at most you only needed a few minutes to describe that. All you really needed to say was that individualism is not the rejection of working together with others or putting yourself above other people, but rather ensuring your autonomy and ethics are not compromised or corrupted by other people, that you remain a good, moral human being. Spent way too much time on that, and it honestly got boring. As for Cyborg, you make a good point on how Darkseid embodies the death of individualism, but never on how Cyborg counters it. Whereas Darkseid wants to control and corrupt everything, Cyborg wants to help people in smaller ways, without needing to enforce his will onto others, whether it be saving the lives of people, helping a down on their luck mother suffering from a bad situation, or stopping the Mother boxes. Also, in your take on DC movies mistaking power for heroism, that's only partially true. Man of Steel was supposed to show an inexperienced but well meaning Clark struggling to use his powers to help people, as well as show the damage that Titans with so much power can cause, whether they be well intentioned or not, and the fallout is shown in Batman V Superman. Batman's acts of branding are never meant to be seen in a good light, they're a sign of his growing darkness, and its at the end where he's inspired by Superman that he turns for the better, his redemption being shown in the Snyder Cut, where he is a much more clear hero without losing his edge. Also, it's terrible sequel aside, WW 2017 was a pretty damn good movie that was only damaged because the studios mandated that Ares be the final villain, harming the main theme of mankind being capable of good and evil, and how at times, there is no Big Bad to defeat that saves the day. Overall, while I'd call Snyder flawed, I think he has a pretty good sense of what makes heroes heroic. Overall, gave this one a like, a good video. However, you could shave off some of the unnecessary parts and provide a more balanced focus, and I think your videos would be better.
ever since I found your channel, I’ve been feeling a little more sane and satisfied... you expressed my exact sentiments about issues in today’s society... and now you’re making a video about one of my favorite movie of all time?! i love you, man..

I watched the Mauler review, it truly felt tiresome and unnecessary. But, I enjoyed the movie. I feel personally that I massively disagree with Mauler on this but that's Ok.
"Guys, you have to understand, Snyder *was* the cringe all along." - MauLer And he's right, as he demonstrated from the early trailers, at least two of the cringey jokes that were cut were actually created by Zack, not Joss, he only cut them to cover his ass. And he did it again afterwards, when he cut out Joker unironically saying "We live in a society" at the last minute after the trailer dropped and it was ridiculed.
Great channel, but definitely did not do your homework on went wrong originally, how we got to this point & what Snyder did to get this movie ready. He didn’t “re-edit” Josstice League. He simply completed the CGI to his film & filmed the MM & Knightmare scenes.

Batman v Superman wasn't about "Monsters". Yes, they fought a monster the end but that's not the whole plot of the story. Specially the Ultimate Edition.

The best part was it made each hero powerful. Barry literally saves the world when Superman couldn't, and Cyborg is a new God in the digital age. Worst part was Martian Manhunter being thrown in at the end, that did feel like an afterthought.
Loads of people critiquing ZS JL seem to be ignoring that it is an extented edition. It is not a theatrical release and it is not trying to be. This is a potential last hurrah so we get everything. So yeah there's some self indulgent scenes that could be shorter. And yes you would get a better for theatrical release film by cutting this to 3:15-3:30. But saying that is a bit like saying the extended editions of LotR would have been better if they were just the cinematic cut again in a fancy box. Yes the theatrical cuts are tighter movies better for a theatrical release. But doing that to the extended editions would defeat the entire point of them existing...
I don't know if it was intentional, but fathers and father figures are really influential in snyder cut (which was the only one I watched). Pretty cool. And if I was Jordan Peterson I'd probably say Darkseid is the tyrannical father.

Snyder had some redemption with ultimate edition of BvS, but many people skipped and hopped onto the narrative that Snyder makes bad comic book movies. His filmography including 300, Man of Steel, and Watchmen tell a different story.
17:56 Wait, healthcare, education is not a right? From the perspective of a Vietnamese - a welfare state, this sounds strange to me. In our country K12 education and the basics of health care are generally free, and we like it very much. Any thoughts on this?
There's a funny little trend I'm detecting with Zac Snyder: If he's a fan of something, holds back on excessive slow-mo and isn't rushed, he's usually pretty good. 300, Watchmen, this, Aquaman, Man of Steel (for the most part); he's usually good as long as those three criteria are met.
You say that ZSJL is sometimes confused about the difference between being powerful and doing good, but you never discuss how the movie (or trilogy) establishes what good is. Most notably, you don’t address Victor’s arc (that is paralleled by Barry’s) in which he accepts “I’m not broken.” This relationship between the self and individualism is essential, and in ALL of Zack Snyder’s movies. Perhaps you’d say this point is outside the scope of your video because you focused mainly on individualism. However, you brought up the point about good actions at the end, so I believe it should have been included.
i really enjoyed your video, it was very thought provoking. i don't think that warner brothers deserves credit for the remake of this film. it was only after at&t bought warner brothers and forced them, kicking and screaming, to allow snyder to remake it so at&t would have more content for their streaming service that this version happened. the fact that warner brothers has already unequivocally stated there will be no more films in this version of the dceu just underscores how resistant to the original idea for the film they were.
The only reason I Loved Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, Batman v Superman ultimate edition and Justice League is PHILOSOPHICAL DEPTH of superhero characters. I like you are on same page too. Philosophy make superHero different from superBad guys, not superpowers. Zack Snyder's superhero are not Abnormally Righteous like other superhero movies we see. They questions reality, they falls morally and rise again. They are more Realistic Human. I really Love to see more Philosophical base Superhero movies in future. Zack also once said, "This is our morden mythology to understand the world in some way...". In the age of Comedy Superhero Circus movies it's rare to find the movie which actually inspires. Mos and Bvs have Inspired me. individualism is always victims of collectivism, this movie series have Philosophical Depth and still got cancelled because it's against collective mentality, general entertainment. Warner did not respond to demand from the fans. If it was up to them they never would have done it, but their corporate owners at AT&T forced them to do it as a way to promote their recently acquired purchase, HBO Max. The Snyder Cut was meant to be The Mandalorian for HBO Max.
Absolutely fantastic video! And spot on review of the movie. I assume you have an opinion about Cyborg's bank dealings. Another thought - Batman perhaps didn't try to force Aquaman because he knew he couldn't, whereas if he knew he could have then he might have. That's an example of why it's so important to uphold gun ownership rights, so that individuals retain the power to remain uncoerced.
I do... but the bank thing is a little complicated. If he was taking money from "the bank" or from someone else's account, then it's just pure theft, which should be easy to see is wrong. But I think he may have created the money out of nothing, in which case he's basically just creating inflation... But the glib answer is: That's what the Federal Reserve does all the time, and usually the benefits of all the new money they create go disproportionately to the bankers, so I guess if you're going to inflate the currency, it's nice to know the new money went to someone in need. Either way, it's short-term thinking.
@@FEEonline That is an assumption, for all we know, he got the money from his own account. His dad is after all a very successful scientist who has a top level position at star labs, an with that, he probably also gets top level money. Cyborg is also the most advanced walking supercomputer in the world, there are lots of ways he could make legitimate money online with his ability.
@@emperorpicard6474 He _could_ be making legitimate money online, but there's no evidence of that in the movie. From the way he _expanded_ the money pile (rather than transferring money from a different pile), the viewer's immediate impression is that he was creating money out of nothing. A less compelling interpretation is that, since he presented it as a random award from the bank, he was taking money from the bank. I appreciate that, like Superman, Cyborg has the power to make the world much better or much worse in an incredibly short time, and he restrains himself to avoid creating big problems. Also like Superman, he is firmly separated from the rest of humanity despite having been raised among them, and it's important for a hero like that to do small heroic acts to stay connected to humankind and show that he doesn't consider anyone too insignificant to help. But the moral lesson being imparted to almost all viewers is that if you could just create a pile of currency (twice the median American worker's yearly income) and give it to a down-on-their-luck family in a major American city, you'd be doing a good deed. And this scene is specifically telling us about the priorities that define Cyborg. So I'm quite comfortable judging the scene on its own terms, and discussing how it's actually a little problematic because both straightforward interpretations of the scene involve stealing value from people who weren't guilty of any crime against that family. The problem would become more obvious if he tried scaling up that kind of "heroism" to everyone who was down on their luck, which brings us back to the individualist conception of rights discussed in this video. If anyone was interested, I'd also enjoy chatting about how Cyborg _could_ be helping vast numbers of people, including billions who are worse off than this one family, without stealing from anyone, and the challenge of showing that on screen in an efficient and entertaining way.
@@FEEonline I read it. Nothing new that wasn't discussed. Zack's weakness was strong storytelling and he managed to get better at it. Results are seen in his Justice League (2021). One issues is 2 writers working apart. Between writers' names we see "and" instead of &. For this reason transition Batman vs Superman fight to Doomsday fight is weird. In that moment most viewers disconnect emotionally. WB managed to ruin Snyder's work. They have no patience or understanding how important character development is. Snyder needed more time and solo Batman movie after that not Justice League.
@@levi_exiled8579 I agree there needed to be another movie *at least* prior to JL. In fact, I wrote a mostly *positive* review of MoS, but with the large caveat that I thought his treatment of Superman was ok as set up (ie. Clark finding himself and "becoming" Superman) but not nearly enough for anyone to see him as a "beacon of hope for the whole world". All he did was smash a couple cities to pieces. Not very hopeful and a good way to make everyone terrified of you. But I think with MoS 2 that might have been resolved. And with a Batman movie that (for instance) featured the death of Jason Todd or something else that would show Batman's loss of faith in his own principles, it would have made sense why Batman was the Frank Miller version. But that's not what we got.
No dude.. Aquaman the film comes after this justice league film. Lol you need to check your timeline. It is after this film, Aquaman goes to his home town and rescues his mother and united the seven kingdoms.

The Snydercut is the best movie of 2021, and it is a shame that we didn't get a "theatrical" version of THIS movie (not the ruined Whedon cut) back in 2017. I see this movie as an "Extended Edition" of sorts like LotR, where not everything is "necessary," but everything builds the world and culture surrounding the story.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
i think the music choices in the Snyder cut are way, way better than the Whedon cut

"Guys, you have to understand, Snyder *was* the cringe all along."
- MauLer
And he's right, as he demonstrated from the early trailers, at least two of the cringey jokes that were cut were actually created by Zack, not Joss, he only cut them to cover his ass.
And he did it again afterwards, when he cut out Joker unironically saying "We live in a society" at the last minute after the trailer dropped and it was ridiculed.
These video essays are very well made and thought-provoking. You're a rare gem here
Great channel, but definitely did not do your homework on went wrong originally, how we got to this point & what Snyder did to get this movie ready. He didn’t “re-edit” Josstice League. He simply completed the CGI to his film & filmed the MM & Knightmare scenes.

This is a very interesting take. What makes villainous versions of Superman and Snyder's that makes you care?

The best part was it made each hero powerful. Barry literally saves the world when Superman couldn't, and Cyborg is a new God in the digital age.
Worst part was Martian Manhunter being thrown in at the end, that did feel like an afterthought.
Love your channel . I’ll be gladly checking out your podcast. The first episodes about starship troopers I love that movie
Beautiful video
*Mauler* went complete *Rip & Tear until it is Done* on this movie even the extended edition and it was Glorious and Magnificent!

I don't know if it was intentional, but fathers and father figures are really influential in snyder cut (which was the only one I watched).

FEE loves Marvel movies more than Marvel 😂
I remember how hated Snyder was when he released Batman vs Superman. Now he is receiving so much fan support, and I couldn't be happier.
Im soooo gladdd
Snyder had some redemption with ultimate edition of BvS, but many people skipped and hopped onto the narrative that Snyder makes bad comic book movies. His filmography including 300, Man of Steel, and Watchmen tell a different story.
Im not a DC fan, but I really hope they take the right steps and actually make some more good movies. I would love the MCU to have a competitor
They don't need to compete with the MCU.
DC need to stick with their own.
That's why the animated stuff are soo good and the games as well
17:56 Wait, healthcare, education is not a right? From the perspective of a Vietnamese - a welfare state, this sounds strange to me. In our country K12 education and the basics of health care are generally free, and we like it very much. Any thoughts on this?
There's a funny little trend I'm detecting with Zac Snyder:
If he's a fan of something, holds back on excessive slow-mo and isn't rushed, he's usually pretty good. 300, Watchmen, this, Aquaman, Man of Steel (for the most part); he's usually good as long as those three criteria are met.
i will say one thing MCU is rotting people's brain
You say that ZSJL is sometimes confused about the difference between being powerful and doing good, but you never discuss how the movie (or trilogy) establishes what good is. Most notably, you don’t address Victor’s arc (that is paralleled by Barry’s) in which he accepts “I’m not broken.” This relationship between the self and individualism is essential, and in ALL of Zack Snyder’s movies. Perhaps you’d say this point is outside the scope of your video because you focused mainly on individualism. However, you brought up the point about good actions at the end, so I believe it should have been included.
I felt the point about what was good was clear. Good is actions which respect individual rights for all.
i really enjoyed your video, it was very thought provoking.
i don't think that warner brothers deserves credit for the remake of this film. it was only after at&t bought warner brothers and forced them, kicking and screaming, to allow snyder to remake it so at&t would have more content for their streaming service that this version happened. the fact that warner brothers has already unequivocally stated there will be no more films in this version of the dceu just underscores how resistant to the original idea for the film they were.
Nice video, I m looking forward to watch your channel in future.

@@emperorpicard6474 that's true.
BVS wasn't even close to being disjointed mess. You kidding me? You even put in the "Martha" scene?! I am surprised that you didn't understand it.
Yeah. It was.
www.seanwmalone.com/reviews/2020/9/23/despite-some-cool-moments-batman-v-superman-a-disjointed-mess
@@FEEonline That would be phenomenal.
The Snyder cut demonstrates the importance of character development.
Do you have transcripts of your videos? If sho I would like a link to them. If not, you should you have good words.
I think Mauler's Justice League cut rips this film to shreds and rightly so...
Woohoo! An actual review in addition to the libertarian/philosophical analysis.
My main dislikes were the contradictions w/ Atlantis. Negated a lot of things that occurred in Aquaman.
No dude.. Aquaman the film comes after this justice league film. Lol you need to check your timeline. It is after this film, Aquaman goes to his home town and rescues his mother and united the seven kingdoms.
@@jobsmine you act like they couldn't have taken out the dolphin speak in the snyder cut, or the contradiction about them not being able to breathe air. Those are the contradictions. as well as Mera's accent.
@@elementalscreator10 Yes in the comics atlantians can speak to the fish with their language. That how they understood each other. It’s not because they just read their minds by magic. Fishes/Dolphins communicate by propagating slwave sounds in the sea not by reading every kind in front of them. Also the director of Aquaman didn’t show but he explained to you in his interview.
@@jobsmine the fucking interview or the comics doesnt matter though. the movie is what matters, and that is an inconsistency. if it were worth keeping, it would've been in the aquaman film. you also act like snyder couldnt take the other movies into consideration and add elements to make those consistent. he easily couldve had a scene of ww flying, or the atlanteans suffocating on the surface.

Not sure if it was really good, or just much better than the theatrical release, but it's funny how there were no complaints about the darkness of tone, theme, and color because the focus is on the story this time.
It’s not the first time, not by a long shot. This kind of thing was happening as far back as when Conan Doyle was writing Sherlock Holmes. But it is that trend on a level and speed I don’t think it’s been before.

20:39 Bzzzt, wrong! I in fact *do* what is best for millions of other people: freedom. And if I had all the power in the world, I would devise a method to distribute that power to everyone in such a way that it could not be taken back. I'm brilliant (or so people tell me) and I could figure out a way to do it.
Of course, nobody with power would lend me even an iota, because they knew they would never get it back.
Sure, I'd probably cut most of the nordic singing from the scene with Ben Affleck, and maybe not have as much slow motion, but there isn't anything in this movie that offends me or gives me pause.
I love this movie, and I really hope that WBD continues this story to give it the conclusion that it deserves.
I happened on to the video by accident but I fucking applaud your explanation of individualism!
